I like the colors, core numbers and seems it would make a good step down ball so I'm picking mine up tomorrow. what do you guys like or dislike about the Grip It?
-
I have a global hook green/black and this ball is very impressive for $70. I use it on all conditions except the dry. I would imagine that the grip it could be even better than this one. Hopefully santa a.k.a the wife will bring me one for christmas. Love the colors and the core numbers look good for a mid price performer. I dont think you will be disappointed in this ball.
-
I hear ya.I now have a bank, black eagle and now the grip it.looks like I'm slowly converting to global. ;D

Dollar for dollar, great ball for the price. Think you will find it very versatile. Basically the Triton Elite core with similar numbers. I don't think you can go wrong with that era of cores. I couldn't believe how strong and continuous this ball is. Nothing flashy, but a strong continous, arch. Very predictable ball motion. This ball will fly under the radar and be underated as far as carry and hook go. I would love to see a hybrid version of this ball!
-
It's already a hybrid. ;)

Ive been going thru grip changes but from the little i have thrown this ball have a 300 with it. I drilled it label leverage with no balance hole. Great benchmark ball really rolls heavy with no major changes in direction. Bout the only thing i cant use this ball on in a flood. Has similar roll to 900 global sure thing bit has more back end for me. I jave mine 1000 abralon with high polish over top. Tried it oob and it was a little too early for me ot over lapped my other stuff. To answer your question love it.

I heard its a sleeper. Globals mid price lineup has always been overlooked. All great balls. Still looking for a nib Sure Thing, and will pick this up as well.
-
planning on giving mine a light buff before I try it. I know people hate this but I don't need it for anything but a med shot.
-
Hey Doom, bowlingball.com has the Sure Thing for $64.99 with free shipping right now. I just looked they have 14, 15, 16 pounds. Better jump on it!
-
Doom thanks for correcting me. I knew that, I don't know what I was thinking at the time, but definitely got mixed up. :-[

I would say skip the Sure Thing and go with a Grip It! IMO, these 2 are very similar and I think there would be a lot of overlap with these 2. But at $64.99, that's hard to pass on.

I have a nice collection in the closet. :)

I would recommend any of the fall releases to add to your collection! Incinerate Pearl and Protocol are easily becoming my favorites. Seems like the Protocol works on any shot and makes them look easy. I have been looking for something to take the place of my S-75 and I think the Incinerate Pearl does that for me. Great mid-lane roll with a strong arch and awesome carry. If this is any indication of what is yet to come, I can't wait!

Personally, The War Eagle has been awesome. More awesome than I had thought it would be.

I love it when a ball is way better than what you expected. It makes you want to go and get a case of them to stash away for a rainy day.
-
tried mine and liked the roll but cover was a little strong for the condition. I'm going to put a high polish on it. If I drilled it strong I think it would have been good for the fresh.Great ball for the price.

I wish they would mix it up from time to time and go back to some of there older cores which worked very well back in the day ;D Like the Maniac core and use it with a different cover or the Double Cross core or even there #1 seller the Break core with a much stronger cover then the S-70 or even a weaker cover :P. as for the Grip it, its Not a bad ball for price as well as the Rip/IT ( which I like a little better ) both are very under rated balls and IM not sure why that is. I have a buddy that loves his Sure thing and now he is going to throw thr Grip /IT next.
Cant wait to see what they put out next week ;) Merry Christmas to all and be careful over the Holidays.. SANTA (Global900) I got a new stocking which will hold at least 2 to 3 new balls.. Ho Ho Ho ;D

I would love a ball with the break core and a stronger cover

I changed the surface on the Grip It prior to league last night. I hit it on 4 sideds with a T pad and put some polish on it. I was seeing it read a bit early and not retaining energy at the pins in previous league nights. As a result this was not allowing me to move deep enough as the lanes transitioned. However, after making the surface change, I had much better results. On the fresh, it worked flawlessly as it had without polish. When the lanes transitioned, that's when I really saw this ball perform. The polish gave it a little extra length and the move off the dry was as strong as it was when on fresh oil. I could easily move deeper and still have the same ball motion and more recovery room to the right. I have yet to find a ball that I could use all 3 games from start to finish, but the Grip It accomplishes that. All in all, this ball works great with multiple angles and numerous shots.

I really like this ball. shined mine up but was a little early still until I started playing with the hand positions. man this ball is so easy to use...
