Lunatic replacement????

In your guesstimation,  what ball in Global 900 lineup would replace a Lunatic?

I would lean towards the Pink/Purple Jewel. Cores are the same and the R.G. and Diff are nearly identical. In terms of cover, the Jewel has a stronger cover vs. the Lunatic and is a pearl vs. solid. Overall, I would have to say the Jewel is your replacement ball. I have had a Lunatic and have throw a Jewel and for me the Lunatic was a little rollier/stronger in the midlane and a predictable arc off of the dry. The Jewel went a a little bit longer, but was stronger off of the dry. I think knocking the shine off of the cover of the Jewel would definitely make it a similar ball shape as the Lunatic. I would imagine others on here will be able to comment on the similarities of these 2. Hope this helps you out.

Agreed. Jewel would be the ball.

My first inclination was to polish up a Sure Thing, but the Jewel is also a candidate depending on which you'd like to manipulate.

The ST has a lower RG but the coverstock strength is closer; so you'd need polish and higher RG drilling. It is also a solid/pearl combo while the Lunatic was all solid, I believe,

The Jewel is skid/flip pearl so you'd need to sand the cover duller and probably put a hand polish on it to insure an earlier "lane bite". Probably need a larger VAL angle to reduce the designed-in flippiness of the basic ball.

So either could work; depends more on how good your driller is with drillings and how good you are with surface adjustments.

You know, I wonder if The Wisdom isn't a better compromise than the other two. But I think it's weaker than the original Lunatic and might need a pretty strong drilling, compared to the drilling on your Lunatic.

For me, the sure thing was way weaker down lane than the lunatic even with polish. The Wisdom is pretty close imo. The wisdom is probably a little more continuous and less over under imo. The lunatic was pretty good. Kind of forgot about it, might try and get my hands on another one....agree the jewel with a more rolly drill might be the best option...
