Walter Ray Williams Jr. Newest member of 900 Global
« on: September 05, 2009, 10:19:16 AM »
WRW Jr.  Is officially the new newest member of the 900 Global family.  Walter started using our products early in the week along with a few others.  After matching up well and making a decent run in the World Championship we reached an agreement late last night.

Tune in to ESPN to see how he bowled in his first televised match with Global in October.

Its not surprising with morich putting fewer balls out, and having sales slumping. there price cut on there releases also shows a sign of weakness and lower profits.

someone had to pick up walter, and he won't touch a brunswick ball, and ebonite's hammer brand never paid out his complete contract. that leaves either storm or 900 global.

nice signing indeed.

no offense but the majority of global stuff i have thrown and saw go sideways and you got 3 strait bowlers on staff just really think thats a bit weird

walter should do well with the bounty line and even the maniac in the later games but it'll be interesting to see if he throwns the bpp very much seems he's always been a solid cover fan

It should be a very good partnership. I throw Storm and Roto Grip myself, for the most part. However I suspect 900 Global will match up very well with the type of ball reaction WRW is looking it get.

Perhaps I should add, I have always liked the stuff Phil had poured in San Antonio and Brigham City.

Awesome sign for 900 Global. We should definitely be seeing some more 900 Global on telecasts now, the 8-10 he left last season is now 10 in the pit.

So yes I have vendetta with the guy and since I am a nobody it really does not matter does it??"

You have a "vendetta with the guy" - how old are you?

We all laugh that thank goodness bowling isn't our day job. I suspect that although you as a (former) fan may want some of WRW's time - he might look at it as you taking up some of his time on the clock - and it is his day job.

Who knows, with a sponser paying some of the bills he might even talk to you next time

Lighten up dude - life is too short for this kind of thing

While WRW may have had his problems with Ebonite, when he was with Hammer, they were not owned bY Ebonite. They were owned by Faball. So while he may have no problem with "Hammer", he does probably have "unresolved conflicts" with Ebonite, as Ebonite and as the current owner of the Hammer brand name.

Om another note, I am interested on which balls he will be using while under 900Global contract.

I assume that like most others, he will be allowed to use both 900Global and AMF300 brand balls.

He is the only pro I have met in person that was a total douche bag, Met Steve Jaros a few times now great guy. WRW was a total cock and no thanks to meeting him again, he was rude to my wife who everyone gets along with.

Barnes, TJ, Couch, Bohn, Delutz, Soper all funny cool guys. WRW is dry and stale as they come, to you he might be your pal who knows and have fun.

I used to deal with Hammertruck on here that WRW would come to his house and have a BBQ everytime he was in Virginia. Hammertruck worked in AMF headquarters and was his personal friend, he could not believe WRW was rude to my wife and another lady who worked at Big E.

Could he have a bad day well maybe, but does it justify it to be an azzhole to people out there that are/were fans??

Big E will never touch him again, they stand up for there workers and should!!

Eddy is a great guy for telling WRW the way it is!!

This topic is about 900 Global signing the greatest bowler of all time. I think Eric is extremely proud of this signing and he should be. It seems to me that Eric wanted to tell all of us in this forum the news first hand and for that Eric, I thank you!  This a major step towards making the 900 Global brand known by everyone. By signing WRW 900 global has assured themselves of world wide recognition which of course will mean a big increse in the sales of 900 Global and AMF equipment. Maybe I am wrong (it wont be the first or last time) but I do not think this thread should be about how WRW treated anyone poorly. I think this thread should be about 900 Global signing the best bowler in the sport and we as 900 Global fans should be excited for the 900 Global team!

Bowlingnut--So people should not buy a bowling ball from the company that WRW
represents because you say he was rude to you and your wife?  Shouldn't they
refrain from buying from the company that he was representing at the time of
the insult?  Global 900 is only trying to get the best possible representative
of their products that they can.  I'm sure they were unaware of the grieveous
insult toward you or they never would have signed him.

Black and white?  I don't see a black and white ball listed in the current products!

He's referring to the Bam, which is a plastic ball, which comes in Black/White.

And great job to 900 Global for this signing!  WRW has always been my favorite pro, and I'm even more of a fan now that we'll both be representing the same company!  (Albeit our collegiate team isn't quite on his level yet...)

The Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour will feature a season-long sponsor competition in 2009-10.

Sponsors are represented by three athletes, with title sponsor Lumber Liquidators teaming with six bowlers. Players were either retained from their 2008-09 sponsor or selected during a draft.

Sponsored bowlers will wear sponsor logos on their shirt backs and right sleeve and throw specially-made spare balls emblazoned with the sponsor's logo.

Here's a look at the sponsored bowlers for the 2009-10 Sponsor Competition:

Can't say I'm excited about the guy, but it's an opportunity to see more 900 Global on TV.
