Whaddya Think of Your Eon Infinite?

Hey all!

I got an Eon Infinite about 3 weeks ago. I laid it out 55 x 5 x 40 - this puts the pin more or less an inch above the middle of my bridge. This ball is tumble-y and chugging and rolly and kind of early, but not...hell, I'm having a hard time truly describing what this ball is, lol. It seems to need head oil - a lot of it. It seems to prefer smaller launch angles. It's super controllable, and when the ball can clear the fronts, it's got a smooth motion and goes through the pins like nothing else I've ever seen. The closest motion through the pins that I can think of is the old Brunswick Inferno balls (Ultimate Inferno).

What's your EI experience? Also - any surface changes out there? I'm really curious to learn more about this ball!

Agree with your description. Just punched up one, I wanted to say it's a 'control' ball (4.5x65 pin up), but it needs a lot of oil to do its work.

Mine is smooth, continuous, hits really hard, and doesn't go big angles.

Also like my STC a lot- that one has such a beautiful roll, and can really turn the corner too.

Going to follow Doom's suggestion and do a 4000 on my WHB.

Both Eons have a unique roll to them. The closest thing I can compare them to is the original Train. Big cover, needs oil in the front, doesn't jump on the back, not a super response downlane. When it rolls proper, it's like dynamite. IMO, it's not a ball I'm going to bounce off of the friction, but like you said, try to control the pattern.

You might want to take the surface up to see a bit less up front and more downlane.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Seems like the cover is pretty aggressive for most bowlers - I'd like to see a complete solid version of this.

The one thing that I found out with this ball is I can kind of camp near the friction, and blend wet/dry VERY well. I was able to do this on heavier house shot and a longer pattern (I think we bowl on London). However, London seems to have lesser volume up front, so it was a burning up a bit towards game 3 and 4.

On a side note, my original Eon rolls awesome. I honestly think this S82RX coverstock should be on the Inception core 8-)

Yikes why does mine wanna be loopy and bounce off the friction. 😬😬😬

Mine definitely does not bounce off the friction. I am going to take it up to 4000 and see if I can delay the roll a bit

This post has made me want to drill 2 Infinites. One 5*40 with less surface, one OOB 2.25*60. I usually look for a certain kind of ball roll to put a short pin on to get the reaction I want, and this just might be it.

Let us know how it goes! My last ball in this season's budget is going to the 900G Pure so can't pick up another EI. If I were to pick up another from the offerings so far it'd be the STC though :D

Took my EI up to 4000; much more versatile now. Could even use it in a pinch for the double burn (people were playing deep lines with urethane balls by that point) albeit in a really deep line. But great control.
