X vs. Solid Boost
« on: November 02, 2017, 07:14:38 PM »
Has anyone thrown both the X and the Solid Boost (same/similar layouts) and can give some feedback on how they compare?

Which is smoother (not weaker)?
Which would be a better overall ball on a higher friction house pattern?

Thx.

Rev Rate: 425
Speed: 15-16mph downlane

X will have a smoother overall reaction having a medium strength cover with a weaker core. The Boost Solid will have more length and significantly more motion downlane. You could make a case for either ball. I would tend to go with the X being smoother overall.

+1, Hans is spot on. My X is butter smooth. Almost like a strong urethane motion.

I don't have either ball, but I recently threw the X2 and is smooth, controllable and very predictable.

I have thrown a Columbia piece in the past with that Boost core engine  and it was a high-revving ball on the backend, which is considerably different than the motion you'd see from the X2!

Thanks all for the feedback.  Was considering the Hustle Ink too but i think that one won't be as smooth as the X2 on the backend.

X^2 is a solid choice. All of the equipment in the Tour Preferred Line are excellent balls for all bowlers.
