Zen Gold Label

Dual Angle Layout: 45 x 4 ½  x 70
Storm Vector Layout: 4 ½ x 3 7/8 x 4 1/8

Continuing with a reoccurring theme I’m sure you all have heard “Zen Ball Good”.  The Zen Gold Label is no exception to that rule.  This ball has quickly become the first ball out of the bag for me no matter what the shot is.  I’ve had great luck on house shot as well as sport patterns.  The ball gets through the front of the lane with ease and then makes a predictable turn to the pocket from anywhere.  I have not found any flaws in this ball so far.  I thought the original Zen would be hard to live up to but the Gold Label is quickly becoming top tier just like the original.

The 900 Global Zen Gold Label has a low RG value of 2.49 a high differential of 0.051.
900 Global came out with a Reserve Blend 801 Pearl Cover combined with the Meditate Symmetric Core, the Gold Label will dominate any medium-heavy condition you can throw at it.
As seen before in the Zen Series, the Meditate Symmetric Core with a low RG and high differential along sides a very clean cover as the Reserve Blend 801 Pearl cover will give you a very clean look through the mid lane and smooth and controllable backend reaction.
Whether you have a super high rev rate or a super low rev rate, or a rev rate somewhere in the middle, this Low RG, High Differential, Symmetrical core produces a constant stable motion off your hand and all the way through the pin deck.
In comparison to the 900 Global Xponent, the Xponent is the poster child for a benchmark ball fits right in the middle of a Summit and the Zen Gold Label.  The Xponent will very smooth, continuous, and very predictable.   The Zen Gold Label will be the perfect 1-2 punch on a house condition or on tour where you need a ball for the transition / burn.
In the bag, will be the Summit, Xponent, Zen Gold Label and Storm Hyroad Pearl

The new 900 Global Zen Gold Label features the same Mediate Symmetric core in the other Zens, but this one is wrapped in the Reserve Blend 801 Pearl coverstock.  At 15 pounds, the RG is 2.49 and the differential is .051.  Drilled at 5x4x2 (pin above bridge) compared to my original Zen drilled the same way, the Gold Label is much cleaner (about 4-5 feet) and has a much stronger, almost skid/flip reaction on the backend.  I was not as big of a fan as the original Zen as much of the bowling community was.  I did like it, but for me it was a ball that I couldn’t throw for more than two games as it just didn’t carry the corners when I had to really feed it to the right.  I don’t have that problem with the Gold Label.  This ball just keeps on coming when you throw it to the dry.  For me the original Zen and the Gold Label make a great 1-2 combination.

900 Global Zen Gold Label
Layout: 4.5 x 5 x 2 Storm Pin Buffer Layout
Rev Rate: 325 rpm, 7 degree of axis tilt, 40 degree of axis rotation
Testing information: 41 foot THS (medium to light volume)
Bowling Center: Fulton Bowling Center
Kegel Machine – Brunswick Anvilane

The 900 Global Zen Gold Label utilizes the Special Reserve Batch #801 pearl coverstock and the Meditate weight block. First impressions are easy length and good backend motion.  There are times the pearl cover is too clean for fresh oil conditions.  The Gold Label definitely has a place in the bag for when transition starts.  The motion of the Gold Label is different than the original Zen.  The Zen Soul and Zen Gold label have big shoes to fill so I don’t think it is fair to compare.  The Gold Label will be my No. 3 or 4 ball out of my bag.
