After the success of the Zen, the Zen Master has been long awaited in the 800 Series line as the replacement for the Aspect.  The Zen Master certainly lives up to its hype.  It's strong in the front part of the lane and continues extremely well in the backend.  Comparative to the Reality, the Zen Master is slightly cleaner while being about 4 boards weaker in overall hook.  Compared to the Original Zen, the Master is earlier and smoother while being about 5 boards stronger in overall hook.  My pin down drilling is great on fresh House and Sport Patterns for its control and predictability.  A pin up version of the Zen Master will give a much stronger backend motion if you prefer that motion.  Compared to the Aspect, the Mediate Symmetric Core of the Zen Master is earlier rolling on the lane and has higher hook potential.  Even though the two balls have the same S77 Solid coverstock, the Zen Master will give more midlane roll and more hook comparatively.  With my higher rev rate, the Zen Master works great for me on the fresh house pattern or sport patterns with higher volumes of oil.  The versatility of this ball will allow me to stay in the ball longer as I have to move more left on the lanes during transition.

For me, this is my new Phaze 2!  This is my new benchmark ball that I feel the lane out with, it is incredibly versatile, I can use it on almost any lane condition, and the coverstock is good both shiny and sanded.  This cover feels as strong as Reality with the proven Zen core!  It produces a similar amount of overall hook to a Zen but it is much earlier and smoother overall!  You heard it here first, this is the new Phaze 2, our all purpose more versatile ball!
