Title: Zen Soul Strong
Post by: ZackNewman300 on May 25, 2022, 09:50:07 PM
The Zen Soul is everything you'd expect from a hybrid in the current Zen line. Earlier than the OG Zen, longer and sharper than the Zen Master. However I will say that this ball is a little closer to the OG Zen, in my eyes. Still a good amount of length and a ton of down lane motion. If anything, comparing box finish to box finish, the differences between the Zen and Zen Soul are quite subtle. The difference between the Soul and the Master and major. I went 4x30 on mine and it's just a ton of ball. I left it at the box surface and it's quite strong. It absolutely covers more boards overall than the Zen Master. Great ball for medium to heavier volumes, I would not recommend it for anything with a ton of friction.

My initial impression has not been good ... I need to give it more time.  I am a fan of the Zen Master and OG Zen . I think they are an excellent 1-2 punch.  The Soul booms more on the backend then either of them and has been the most over/under of the 3.  I'll keep at it as I see the potential.

I finally started liking mine at 4k fast finish. For me, it's definitely closer to the Zen at the same finish but a slightly bigger window front to back (slower transition). I don't really see the big backend, it's pretty smooth and doesn't look great with steep angles so I tend to use it more to blend the lane when they get cliffed. Knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn't have bought it because it's close to a Phaze 2 but not nearly as versatile for me so it hasn't seen a lot of action.
