LANE CONDITION

Surface:  OOB for SPORT and tried 1500 Polished and 4000 for THS
Layout:  Pin below ring finger with cg kicked about 1/2 right, no weight hole needed.

41 ft Sport medium pattern:  This ball with the OOB surface rolled pretty good on the first day playing a inside shot.  Rolled up great in the midlane with a excellent punch on the backend.  Second day the insides got burned up a lot quicker, so decided to try the ball from around the 5 board and handled the oil on the outside great.  Played that line from the outside the rest of the day and ball picked up good from the midlane and continued through the pocket with a great carry percentage.

THS:  First thing our THS is dry from 1-7 and uses Defy oil pretty heavy in the middle of lane with decent carrydown.  I have tried 1500 Polished and 4000 grit with the Moxie and just have not found a consistent read with the ball.  At 4000 grit i could play really deep or play the whole lane and get to the pocket, but carry percentage was not very good.  At 1500 grit polished I could play a little tighter line from around 15-7 and worked decent for the first games and then when the carrydown happened it made the reaction very over/under.  I will see what a weaker layout on a new Moxie will do for THS shots, but as of right now looking to be a good tournament ball, but not THS type of ball at all.

For THS I would recommend a pin up drilling for this ball and hitting the surface with a wet 4000 pad.

Drilling: Pin below middle finger with a low hole (5 inch pin to pap)
Surface: OOB
Oil: THS (3 different patterns)
I drilled this ball for use on slick THS as well as any fresh sport patterns. With this layout this ball is really strong throughout the entire body of the lane. It is predictable and strong. This ball is more than an arrow stronger than the All Day. It is a pinch earlier and smoother than the Dream On. I am able to keep my angles in front of me on the slickest of lanes. As the front starts to go away, I am still able to create a pinch of angle with this ball and still strike. This is the strongest ball in the mid-lane that is in my bag. For bowlers looking for a ball for heavier oil that has a strong continuous motion, this ball is money!

The 900 Global Moxie is another very reliable ball from 900 Global.  The Moxie is gonna react the best when there is a ton of oil on the lane.  The 78 Dig Hybrid coverstock really allows this ball to to read early but still have enough energy to carry those pesky corner pins!  When your Respect is too clean through the front part of the lane this is the ball you're gonna wanna switch to!

COMMENTS
The Moxie has a super predictable ball motion. Back end is strong but smooth. For a hybrid cover, the Moxie has a nice midlane read, but doesn't fly off the backends. The cover takes well to surface changes. I tried this at the OOB, and at an "E" Pad (~1,500 grit). Ultimately, I decided to go with an "E" pad because I wanted the ball to have a little more teeth on heavier oil patterns. Even at the OOB, 4K surface, I found this ball not a fit on THS patterns. However, on more oil and flatter patterns, the Moxie excels! Don't be afraid to get this ball on some oil and see what it can do.

LANE CONDITION

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):  THS, Sport

Likes:  What a beautiful ball rolling down the lane.  The red, yellow and black swirls rotating down the lane can become mesmerizing.  This is a great ball for medium to heavy oil patterns.  If you want a ball that gives you an earlier roll without dying out on the backends then this is your ball!  The Hybrid coverstock allows this ball to get through the heads smoothly while allowing it to sustain a ton of energy to bite through carry down on the backends.  Light/heavy or even half pocket, this ball will carry when you get it to the pocket!  When it hits the pocket the pins scatter while staying low.  It hit’s like a freight train!  The Moxie very adaptable to surface changes therefore, use the OOB at first and try subtle surface changes if needed to get the desired result.  This is one of the most aggressive and highest flaring balls I’ve ever thrown.  See for yourself and order one today.

Likes: Hook, Hook, and more hook!

Dislikes:None

Layout: pin under ring w/ hole 5 1/4" from center grip on VAL

PAP: 5 and 1/4" right and 7/8" up

The Moxie may not be in the product line anymore, but boy, this is a great ball!  The 78 Dig Hybrid coverstock has some major teeth.  The ball is great for the heaviest of volumes and definitely hooks from anywhere.  I'm able to play multiple angles with this ball and get a great amount of entry angle.  It's rare to find a big hooking ball with that kind of versatility. I would highly recommend trying this ball if you have the opportunity.

4" pin, placed 1" out from ring finger
Dual angle: 55x3.5"x50 (CG kicked out)
weight hole @ PAP + 1" up
cover: OOB
oil pattern: THS
length: 39-41'
volume: medium-heavy

If you enjoy the roll and reaction of the Respect but want/need earlier midlane read with a more-angular backend motion, Moxie is the answer! This layout gives you a definite turn at the breakpoint; something you can rely on to make the corner when nothing else will! The solution to all your broken-down medium-volume or heavy-fresh conditions!
