Well all I can say about this ball is that it is the best ball I have ever drilled for length. Better than the neptune, tropical storm, groove, etc.  Layout is 5x5, intended for the burnt. Ball clears the heads and makes a nice backend motion. Same shape as the break pearl just not as strong and early, with comparable hitting power. Absolutely love the length I get out of this ball, and recommend it for anyone looking for something that gets down the lane or is just starting off. Just another good peice of equipment by global

I had the chance the drill one of these balls a couple weeks ago and all I can say is that it is LOOOOOONG!!   I was very impressed by how clean it is thru the rough part of the lane...a fantastic ball from 900 Global!!

This ball is the best reacting ball I have ever had for dry conditions.  It doesn't overreact, and has great hitting power.  If you don't have a ball for dry conditions this is a great choice.

ball specs:  14 lb 4oz 2,5 - 3 pin  2.35top

my style: converted RH due to injury been bowling 6 months total on and off averaging 181 med revs with low speed around 13 mph

drilling:  pin next to ring finger with cg stacked under ring finger wtih mass bias under middle of thumb hole no balance hole needed.

That said the link is the best dry lanes ball I have ever thrown. Giving my bowling style i struggle to get anything down the lane. I bowlin in house that has a 38 foot ths and anything outside of the 7 board is toast.  Other balls compared to is amf xtreme orbit solid, nvs drilled 315 degree layout and a storm tropical orange blue.  I bowled 4 games with all these balls and this is my comparison of the results.

The link is the longest of the four balls going about 52 foot before making its nice controled move to pocket and the hitting power is what supprised me for a low end ball. my line with this ball was 10 at the arrows to 4 at the break point. The nvs went about 50 foot due to the weak drilling i have on it and high polish with beans ss.  I played a line 14 to 4. hitting power wasnt as near as great with this ball.   The tropical is label pin next to ring with cg  under ring this ball goes as far as the link played a line 14 to 4 and this ball hits like a marshmellow that is why i dont use it.  The amf orbit extreme solid was playing 14 to 4 but it was making its break point at 46 foot it is much sooner but much weaker move to pocket but still saves enough energy to kick the ten out.

The link really impressed me with the easy length, controlled yet strong move and the amazing hitting power on this condition this is going to be my go to ball. Anyone looking for a dry lanes peice this is where you need to look IMHO 900 global is making some of the greatest balls on the market I have not found a bad piece and I do have them all.  Keep up the great work.

PAP- 5 1/2 by 1 1/4 Up
Axis Tilt- at 5 degrees
Axis Rotation- at 45 degrees
RPM- 315

Layout of the Ball
PIN to PAP- 4 1/2 pin above the fingers
CG Placement- Kicked out at 75 degrees
Drilled for Dry conditions

I have this ball made for dry lanes. My highest series with it thus far is 640 with a 280 game on Tuesday USBC League on October 21, 2008 plus the pin carry is awesome when the condition is right. So far I been averaging 6 strikes a game with it and have bowled with it whenever my Radar Alert burns up on the backend for me. It's been getting better and it gets most of the minutes whenever my Radar Alert's energy is burning up. I Highly recommend this ball if you're having trouble getting the balls down the lane with faster transition to the pocket. I can adjust easily with this ball. With this ball I am capable of controlling the tempo of the game when it matters to start the fastbreak with strikes and outscore my opponents when needed when the lane condition is there with the right transition. I had 7, 5, and 10 strikes in a row with it. It does good on Tuesday Nights most of the time.

PAP - 4" over, 1/2" up
Ball Speed - 16 MPG
Average Rev Rate
Layout - Pin above bridge, CG kicked right, MB right of thumb

I bought this ball to use when the lanes really burn up, and all of my other equipment begins to overreact on me. It is the best dry lane ball I have ever thrown. On a completely fried lane, I am able to play straight up the 8 board without having to worry about the Link overhooking on me. It carries very well for a lower level performance ball, and I found it's reaction to be very controllable. Don't be hesitant to buy this ball if you are looking for the answers to combat fried lanes.

I had stopped playing from fours years and I have just get back. I bought the S75, and that balls is great, it hits perfectly. However, the lanes get dry too quickly for that ball and I am looking for a ball to change when that happen. Do you recommend me the Link? I want a ball that does not overreact, but a ball that hooks passing the middle of the lane but in a controllable way. Do you recommend me this one?

I use the link on THS.  I can play straight down the first arrow.
No mid lane read.  Sharp back end read.  Before going to urethane
or plastic, I do recommend trying this ball.  Being a reactive
resin, you will get better carry than urethane/plastic.

Also, I use this ball to shot for 10 pins on PBA patterns.  I
find this ball gives me more room for error when shoting a 10
pin, than say a plastic ball.  The plastic ball slides too much
in the oil and it tends to find the channel when I miss my mark
a little.  With the link, when I miss a lttle, it still has enough
reaction to avoid the gutter.

For me, this ball was worth the purchase because of how
consistent I am shooting the 10 pin with it.

My ball is drilled 5x3, pin on top.

specs on profile
layout pin under middle finger cg stacked

fresh house shot: have no real use on a fresh shot with this ball unless i feel like playing a more direct shot.

burnt up house shot:
this ball is great on a beatin up house shot reminds me alot of my old too hot with the lenght and lack of over reaction to the lanes.

PBAX (cheetah):
this ball allows me to play a more direct line to the pocket on the cheetah started playing 12 to 3 and ball was crushing the pocket did seem to start to get jumpy but a 2 board adjustment and was lined back in only problem didn't carry that great considering how often ball was in the pocket.

final thoughts:
if your looking for a great dry lane ball bowl in a dry house or a beginer ball this ball is great has the ability to be a farely strong ball with a aggresive layout and surface prep. i drilled a couple up for the high school team for when they bowl in some of the smaller towns they seem to really like it. all in all great ball for the money looks good performs good.

LINK

Drill Angle = 60
VAL Angle = 40
Pin to PAP = 4 3/4

This ball was drilled to complement the Break Point Pearl. I went with a little stronger layout and angles because of the high RG and low DIFF.

The reaction is fairly long and works extremely well on severe broken down patterns where the fronts are gone or there is a lot of friction in the track area. I use this ball a when I bowl in House Shot type tournaments that have 6+ games involved because the track area and really anything 15 board and out is fairly dry. The ball allows me to move right and play in the friction when the Break Point Pearl is too strong where is reading too fast on the pattern and losing it's energy when it gets to the pocket.

pin above the middle finger cg kicked right about a half inch from center grip. i got a link for very dry shots and more straighter lines. i had some problems with the ball rolling way too late. normally this layout is great for me but i had to put a weight hole to take out top weight so it would roll around 40ft instead of 60ft. real nice ball, i love it. great control! i am planning on getting another one real soon.

Rt Hand
Speed 16mph
Revs 370
PAP 4 5/8 3/16th under
Avg 228

Pin to pap 4 1/2
Mb about 1 1/2" Rt of thumb

Pros, easy length, strong pop,
Cons, over under

I went with a stronger layout not knowing what this ball was capable of.  Truthfully I get a over under with this ball with OOB cover and the layout.  Thats a good sign because I feel that can be blended with some timely surface prep, I just have not taken the time to change the cover yet. (when I get back from Afghan I'll update)

I can play a lot of angles with this ball from down and in, to 4th arrow to about 12 or so. Got a decent look with it on the Cheetah.

I got this rock for broken down THS and tournament play.  It fits into my arsenal only sometimes, I bowled well with this ball once during a tournament. It was a 7 game sweeper and I bowled successful with it from games 5-7 and I stayed in the 220-240 with it.  The Link has a strong pop to it on the right shot, but I haven't found it too always work mid or later in blocks.  My best guess will be about a 1000 grit surface & no polish since it gets easy length.

If you see em lookin while you rollin, then you probably got em in a bracket...

COMMENTS

I wanted my Link to become the low end ball in my arsenal. For me this ball is not playable unless the pattern is quite short or the volume is very low. But as soon as most other balls burn out or overhook this ball is absolute money! It will clear even the most burnt heads with ease and reads the midlane just enough to get in to a smooth rolling backend with a lot of continuation through the pins.

Likes: Very forgiving on lighter shots, effortless length, great hitting power for the mony

Dislikes: if there is oil put it away
