I have this ball with the pin above my ring finger and the cover is out of the box.  I use this ball in a house that is known for being quite dry and find it to work very well on that condition. I like the fact that it doesn't over-react in the dry. The first night I used it I shot 726.  It also worked great on light oil when I adjusted my speed and played straight up the boards.

I went with a 5 1/2x4 pin about an inch and a half above my ring finger. Because of my rev rate I wanted to make sure I could get length and a nice controllable backend reaction. I got exactly that. I think this ball is stronger than advertised or maybe just stronger than I expected. I added a little bit of polish to fine tune the reaction and it worked well. The hitting power is typical 900 Global. I have a nice three ball combo with the Break Pearl, maniac and the Lunatic. The Lunatic is a perfect compliment to the maniac, when that starts to go early the lunatic picks up right where the maniac left off. Great job on another fine piece from global. I will definitely be getting more equipment from this company.

LAYED THIS BALL OUT WITH THE PIN AT 2 O'CLOCK. BALL HAS GOOD LENGTH WITH A VERY READABLE BREAK POINT,DOES NOT OVER REACT COMING OUT OF THE OIL. I THINK IT IS ONE OF THE BETTER BALL OUT THERE TO BE USED ON DRYER CONDITIONS. HAS GOOD POP ON IT WHEN IT HITS AND KEEPS THE PINS LOW FOR SOME GOOD CARRING POWER. GLOBAL STAFF BOWLER TODD DROUILLARD

Ball spec's 15.4 3" pin 3 top
My profile: speed 14-16mph, power stroker rt hand.

Lane surface overlays and synthetic.

Drilling: 5 x 5 pin up, box finish & 4000 abralon

The Lunatic from 900 Global is a new mid-price release with lots of reaction on medium to dry lanes.  Drilled this one with an old favorite 5 by 5 pin up, my old ABC Singles and Doubles drill pattern.  I had been told to expect a versatile ball with a good move on the back.  Well it's a little more than that!  BIG backend when it encounters drier backends.  Very angular ball that throws pins all over the place.  The new S53 Coverstock is powerful on medium conditions.  Almost too flippy for me on fresh.  I hit the cover with a 4000 Abralon and saw a nicer reaction to oily fronts and dry backs.  Rolled just a touch earlier and still came hard off the dry but easier to control.  This ball is a great 2nd or 3rd game ball when you need skid but good recovery.  Heavy oil was not a good fit for this ball but maybe with a 1000 or 2000 Abralon it could handle heavier patterns.  It's aggressive, it hits hard, it carries and it looks pretty cool!

Nice fit in the 900 Global line, a pearl version of this ball could be a gem!

14# pin on side of ring finger no weight hole
tweener style of bowler swinging 13 to 5

Threw my first game with this gem tonight. (257) THS with drier backends. Ball was great the first game but got jumpy in the second so I switched to Break Point Pearl for 2nd and 3rd games. Got to see what it will do on some oily conditions. It seems like a strong ball with a great finish.

Really like the 900 Global equipment. Wish I would have switched last year.

Feb. 2010 review

Layout: 50°x4.5"x43°
Surface: Factory

What I was expecting from this ball was decent length with a strong, almost flippy backend. What I did get with this something a bit stronger.  Ball had ok length with a strong move to the pocket on the backend.

There's seems to be a tad over/under on the fresh for some reason, could be the ball or the hard/slick surface of the Brunswick Anvilanes. But once you create the bounce on the outside the ball doesn't seem to miss. I may try and knock a wee bit of polish off and see how it reacts.

LANE CONDITION

Length:38-42ft

Volume:heavy to dry

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):ths

COMMENTS

Likes:the ball glides cleanly for me down the lanes and has a clean transition on the back end as it heads to pocket. has been fairly decent on drier lanes, but strives on the oily to medium oil. my revs are low and my ball speed is roughly around 16-17. When it hits the pocket, it has a clean carry and does not leave a lot of ten pins. I would recommend this ball to anybody.

Stroker, play up the 10 board, med speed, low revs.
Ball drilled with pin over ring finger, 15 lb
What I wanted:  Looking for a ball that would slide in oil and give me a controlled reaction in med-dry conditions...

I recommend this ball for someone who wants a controlled reaction in med-dry conditions.   If you have a good handle on ball speed this ball may be the one to use.   :D  Watch the speed, and yes this ball can recover from a mis throw right........my first 900 global ball....not my last

LANE CONDITION

Length: Anywhere from Really Short to Really Long

Volume: Anywhere from Light to Ultra Heavy volume

Type: This ball works great anywhere from House Conditions to Challenging Sport Shot/PBA/Tournament conditions

I really love this ball. This ball will fit any bowler's game. It works good for a variety from styles ranging from a Stroker who likes to play straight up the lane to a High Rev Power Player who likes to hook the entire lane. I myself as a higher rev player with a slower speed really enjoys this ball. This ball is so forgiving it gets down the lane then if you miss a little left or right, you can still hit the pocket. I've thrown this ball on the short 35" bejing and the long 45" Mexico City pattern and both gave me excelent ball reaction and the best pin carry i've seen than any other ball. It doesn't matter what bowler you are or what you are bowling on. This is such a versatile ball that will make you do good on a variety of sport and house shots. If you want to have a lot of room for error and you want outrageously high score anywhere from easy house conditions to challenging sport patterns, then this is your ball :)
