Well to start this ball is gonna need some oil to help tame down the backend motion of this ball. Ball gets down the lane and thru the mids great and really packs a punch off the corner. This is going to be one for when there is heavy oil out on the lanes for sure. Ball was thrown on fresh house shot.

The Protocol is a great looking ball with a nice, smooth, polished surface. Works great for any bowlers on medium-heavy patterns. This ball goes down the lane a little further, holding its energy and rolls up to the pocket without having to adjust much when the lanes start breaking down. It is the go-to ball for most heavy house shots, as well as tournaments. As a down-and-in bowler with medium-fast ball speed, I began throwing around the second arrow and barely had to adjust as the lanes got drier. Must have for any competitive bowler!

I drilled my Protocol with a motion hole and man is it clean through the front part of the lanes and very aggressive on the backend. I rolled it on two different lane conditions, the first was a 40 foot house shot. I went 239, 257, 289 for a 785. Not bad for the first three games. I then took it to a tournament with a 44 foot sports pattern and had games of 223, 247, 243 for a 713. The ball did just what I wanted it to do get down the lane and make a strong move, I left a couple of 9 pins but only one 10 pin the rest of my leaves were all me. I would strongly suggest this ball for anyone with a high rev rate as you will love the carry. Good Luck and keep hitting them hard. JMD878

Likes:I drilled my Protocol pin up above bridge. This ball clears the heads really well with a strong backend reaction. This ball is little longer than my war eagle with a more angular motion on the back. I used on a wet-dry condition(42ft. house pattern) and had to play in around 20 but it will corner with the best of them. Great ball when you need to be able to create more angle down lane. Carry was great from deep inside because of the angles I could create. Thanks to 900Global for another Great bowling ball.

Drilled new Protocol 5 x 4 pin up cg swung 1" right of center and I have to say WOW! This ball reads the lane with ease and has a strong backend movement. It reminds of an old school snap and not an arc type reaction. With my slower ball speed of 15 mph this thing comes back from anywhere on a THS. What is impressive is the polished finish allows me to make mistakes in and catch hold but good backend reaction digs out corners. Yup I'm saying you can pull it and still strike AND send it wide of your mark and strike! For me no need to change surface right now. I imagine you can tame down backend with a T pad pretty easy. Excellent benchmark ball from 900 Global. This one should be a scoring machine!! Will see what it does on some Kegel challenge patterns in the fall.

This ball is a beast in the oil! I was amazed with how strong it was inside the lanes versus playing up the boards. The S70 cover stock continues its amazing run with Global with another winner. If you have lane conditions that tend to be a little wetter in the middle with back end, this is the ball for you.
The first thing you will notice is how cleanly the Protocol clears the heads. This is awesome when the ball unleashes all of it’s energy down lane. I saw very little deflection so those nasty 7 and 10 pins seem to fall much easier with the Protocol.
The color combination will also open some eyes, as people will be asking you: “What is that awesome ball you are throwing?â€
This is a ball you should pick up, for your league shots, and even for a lot of tournament conditions. Global certainly established a new “Protocol†when it comes to bowling ball technology!

Likes:I really think this is the best ball 900 global has made in 4 or 5 years. This ball just keeps coming it, keeps the pins low when it hits the pocket, regardless if you get the ball up in the oil pattern or let it fly just a little to wide outside. Awesome continuation!! 900 has a great marriage here of core and coverstock. Only the extreme wet or dry patterns will keep this ball in your bag. And as far as sport patterns are concerned, just use NEAT finishing system "e" pad or 2000 abralon and this ball will be useful on patterns such as scorpion and USBC open championships pattern. Leave it shiny and you will have a cheetah killer! I laid my ball out with a 5 1/2 inch pin, pin directly above fingers. If there is one ball to buy for this league season. This one is it.You wont be disappointed.

Wow!!! What a ball. Clean through the front but always seams to pick up in the mids, even on heavier patterns. Makes a nice move on the back from all angles with no wiggle. One of my favorite global balls of all time.

If you are looking for a ball that just behaves the way you want it too and will kill the pins once it gets there. Check out the Protocol.
I have used this in a number of PBAX Shots as well as your typical House patterns and it has not disappointed me once. The ball is strong in the Mids and still has great continuation in the back of the lane. This has now become my first out of the bag ball as it will tell me everything that I need to know about the lane. Great ball for the strokers because of the read it gives you in the mid lane but the hitting power is what impresses me the most. In the first 6 games with this ball I only left 2 Ten Pins(I left more 8's and 9's then 10's).
If are struggling on the flatter type patterns this could be the best investment of your season. Give it a shot and you will not regret it.

About the Protocol: The Protocol is very continuous for an asymmetrical ball. It reads the mids very well but keeps hooking. This gives the ball a great look on THS. With the polished surface it gets downlane enough and has no trouble playing deeper lines on medium oil. With the polish it can still handle medium heavy but With a little surface it can easily handle heavy oil. I haven't had a asymmetrical ball that goes through the pins like the Protocol in a while. It really is a very versatile ball that will fit many styles.

Length: Strong Rolling ball that gives a strong backend reaction when you are on a longer, or heavier volume pattern.
Volume: My game places the Protocol as a heavier medium to heavy oil ball.
Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Best used on sport patterns that have more volume down lane. It goes back into the bag when the midlane has low volume.
COMMENTS: So far through my testing the Protocol is great on house patterns and on sport patterns. Those of you that liked the War Eagle will see similar reaction, just about 4 more boards of it.
Likes: One characteristic I often look for in a ball is how well it takes hand position changes and The Protocol responds well to hand position changes. In todays bowling world, ball are made so condition specific that hand position changes are often ignored by equipment.
Dislikes: I have not found good use for the protocol on lower volumes or when lanes are starting to burn in the mids.

Likes:I laid this ball out with my favorite layout which is 5 3/8 x 3 ¾ x 4 1/8. From my PAP that put the pin down below my fingers on the center grip line, CG 1†away from center grip and the MB falls about 2†away from the center of the thumb. I have used this layout on quite a few different balls: The Eagle, Black Eagle, War Eagle (2) and now the protocol with no disappointments! Right off the press I shot 813! It is 5-7 boards stronger than all the eagles but still the same clean rolling motion in the front part of the lane! The S70 Cover stock with CFT core is unparallel to any competitor’s high end performance balls! So much angular motion off the end of the lane conditions that it doesn’t matter how deep in the lane you have to get it will still carry!

I was truly impressed with the Protocol, I drilled the ball with a 5 x 4 layout and this ball just keeps coming. The Protocol is clean through the front and reads the end of the pattern very well. The ball needs a higher volume of oil to stay right. I was able to move left later in the set once the oil had migrated in and send it right. It made the corner with ease and crushed the pins.
Dislikes: The ball out of the box was a little snappy the last 5 feet before the head pin. I took the polish off with a 2000 abralon pad. This calmed it down.

I was surprised on how strong this ball really is. For a Higher RG ball the Protocol still reads the midlane well and shines on the back end. You will definitely need some oil for this ball, but tells you when to put it away. If you are looking for a strong solid piece with a booming backend and continuation through the pin deck then look no further.

I really liked this ball on the house shot. It is very similar to the War Eagle. I polished my War Eagle and got a few more boards out of it. The Protocol comes polished and is a few boards weaker for me. I really like the area on the house pattern and the forgiveness with great carry. I would like to try to change the surface w/o polish but the out of box surface makes this the benchmark ball for my arsenal.

The Protocol looks great on the lane and off! As advertised, No More Guess Work. This ball is sure to please every style of bowler. One of the most versatile balls released by 900 Global. If you want a ball that you can play any line with, this is it. I found the Protocol to be a great ball on multiple shots and lines to the pocket. Strong throughout the lane. I do not have a huge hand in the ball and I was able to get the ball back from areas I have never been able to. Easily gives you more mistake room and makes shots seem bigger than they are. The ball is surface change friendly. Overall, it has a skid/snap type reaction. Another great ball with the ever popular S70 cover!

I drilled a Network and really loved what I was seeing with it. I wanted something similar to it so I decided on the Protocol, because of the same shaped core with slightly higher RG and lower Diff. I drilled the Protocol the same as the Network and it's slightly under the Network with it's polished solid cover and similar core. I was able to play more right than the Network, but as I had to move deeper the Protocol was leaving corner pins. I moved deeper and switched to the Network, which took the corner pins out.
Likes:Very clean and smooth rolling ball that corners with a strong arc move. Great compliment to the Network!
Dislikes:None so far!
