Title: Respect Pearl
Post by: BallReviews-scodaddy21 on July 07, 2015, 09:46:52 AM
Description: This ball deserves nothing but Respect! The 900Global Respect Pearl bowling ball takes the Tera symmetric core and alters it to have a slightly higher RG and lower Diff to offer a little more length.  900Global's 74 Response Pearl coverstock reacts to backend friction to shift the direction of the ball on medium-heavy lane conditions.
Features:

- Color: Orange/Red/Silver All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown.
- Coverstock: 74 Response Pearl
- Finish: 1500 Grit, Polished
- Core: Tetra LD Symmetric
- Recommended Lane Condition: Medium-Heavy Oil
- RG:  2.52 (15# ball)
- Diff:  0.047 (15# ball)

Likes:The Respect Pearl, a great ball that is a compliment to the original Respect. Once you start to lose your shape with the original, you can pick up the Pearl and not miss a beat. Overall, I would say its a little less overall hook than the Respect, but definitely more angular down the lane. 900 Global did a great job with the changes they made with the coverstock and RG numbers to give this ball a skid/flip motion. This ball will be good on most medium to slightly oily patterns. Be it THS or some of the sport patterns that run between 38-42 feet. I drilled mine with a 70 x 5 3/4 x 45 layout. Great job 900 Global! Thanks, Eddie Frederick

Speed    17-18 MPH
Rev rate   450
PAP   4-7/8 and 1/3 up
Axis Tilt   15 degrees
Axis Rotation   30 degrees
Respect Pearl   55x5x65
The Respect Pearl is an addition that I have been waiting for in the 900 Global line. That upper-mid level pearl ball with a strong backend reaction. As compared to the original Respect, I would say that the Pearl is a bit less overall hook, but it save more of it for downlane motion. This ball is clearner through the heads than the orignal Respect with a harder response to friction downlane. This would be a great  ball for medium oil conditions and when you need to get in a wheel the lane a bit after they are broken down. The Respect Pearl with the orignal Respect would be a great 1-2 punch for your benchmark and ball down reaction.

RESPECT PEARL
Coverstock: 74 Responseâ„¢ Pearl
Finish: 1500 Grit, Polished
Color: Orange/Red/Silver
Core: Tetra LDâ„¢ Symmetric
Prime Series
2.52 Radius of gyration
.047 Differential
Positive Axis Point  5 7/16 by 1/4 up
Layout  6 x 3 1/2 x 4 3/4

I liked my 900 Global RESPECT so much I decided to drill my RESPECT PEARL the same way and I will tell you why.  I knew this ball would be different with the Pearl reactive cover but there are some other differences with this ball you should know about.  Even though the RESPECT PEARL uses the TETRA SYMMETRIC shaped core like the RESPECT the density of the core is slightly different increasing the Radius of gyration from 2.49 to 2.52 and lowering the differential from .052 to .047.  This means that the ball will be a little cleaner in the front with a more controlled backend reaction than the RESPECT.  Yes it won't jump off the spot because of it's lower numbers when it sees friction.  YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY THE LANES MUCH STRAIGHTER WITH THIS PEARL.....  I think this is a great idea because most bowling ball companies will use the same core and never change the density  causing a much more over under ball reaction because of its weaker cover.  Changing the density with this proven weight block was an ingenious idea, and we should show this up and coming ball company some RESPECT by getting a RESPECT PEARL and continue to add some performance in YOUR game.

Likes: My favorite, my go-to ball on any condition whether it's a house or sport pattern. This ball, like the black ops clears the heads but conserves energy and gives me a nice backend reaction. The Respect Pearl is amazingly forgiving on the slick and dry. It allows me to create room to miss either way and get away with it. This ball gives me a longer stronger reaction than my original respect, but they compliment each other well to create a VERY nice arsenal for any bowler.

LANE CONDITION

Layout: 4.24x3.5x2.5
PAP:  3 right, 1.25 up
About the ball…
The Respect Pearl features the 74 Response Pearl coverstock finished at 1500 Grit with polish. Pair that with the Tetra LD Symmetric core, a modified version of what was used in the original Respect, and you've got a ball that goes long and has a very strong backend reaction.
My opinions…
I knocked down the surface to 4000.  This is one of the best balls that I have in my bag.  The ball gets through the heads clean reads the mid lane great and drives hard through the pin deck.  The ball allows multiple entry angels from straight up the boards to moving in and swinging the lane with no loss in carry.

The Respect Pearl is a strong pearl.  I have mine drilled pin above the ring finger with the cg kicked out at 5 o'clock from there.  The pin is a 4 inch pin.

The Respect Pearl is a great complement to the Respect.  This ball is clean through the heads with a strong motion to the pocket.  On the house shot for me this ball has a little to much length to start with, but once transition hit and the inside was beaten down this ball worked great!  As the Respect starts loosing carry, move to the Respect Pearl and stay in the same area of the lane.  Your strike percentage will increase and scores will go up.  Get some "Performance for your game".  Get a Respect Pearl!  Rich Miller 900 Global Regional Staffer.

PAP - 5 1/8 over & 1/4 up
Speed - 17-18 mph

The Respect Pearl is a great complement to the Respect.  If you like the reaction you get from the Respect, you need to add this to your arsenal.  The pearl coverstock gives the Respect Pearl the extra length needed when the heads and/or mids start to go, but retains plenty of energy for a strong reaction on the backend.

Drilled my Respect Pearl with pin above bridge with cg stacked underneath. This layout gives me the added lenght I need when my Respect starts to burn up. The Respect Peal will easily clear the heads and has alot of energy retention for a strong backend reaction. This ball for me also seems to keep the pins low for a better carry percentage. If you find you want a little more lenght hit it with 4000 for shorter patterns. (DRYER CONDITIONS).Thanks to 900 global for making another great addition to a strong line of bowling equipment.

The Respect pearl is a great compliment to the Respect, it responds later down lane
Conserving more energy. When the Respect is over reacting you can go to the Respect Pearl and stay in your comfort zone. This ball is great for medium-to-medium heavy
Oil patterns also great on sport patterns. For slower ball speeds and medium rev players like me looking for a big back end move I drilled mine with a Pin to Pap 3 7/8  Psa to Pap
4 ¾ and Pin Buffer 2 ½. I  Highly recommend this ball.

Respect Pearl
Drilled: 65x5x30 Dual angle
5x5x2

The Respect Pearl goes a little longer and a little less overall hook than the Respect. It has strong, continuous back end and a great ball to use when the heads start to go away. It creates more length down lane and more entry angle. If you need more length and smoother reaction, you can put 4000 on it. Great ball for medium to medium oily patterns.

Hand: Left
Pin Placement: Above/Center of fingers
CG Placement: Middle of Palm

Out of the box this ball went very long and was smooth off the spot. After taking some of the shine off with a 4000 Abralon pad I got a sharper reaction in the backend, exactly what I was looking for.

The Respect Pearl compliments the Respect perfectly - while the original Respect starts to hook earlier on the lane, the Respect Pearl gives you that little extra length you need when the lanes start to break down!

 Bowler Style:
 Left Handed
 Ball Speed: 15 - 15.5 (Stroker)
 PAP/Track: 4" (Left) on center
 Average: 225

 Surface Prep:
 OOB 1500 Grit Polished

 Lane Condition:
 THS (Typical House Shot)

 Comments:
The Respect Pearl is the perfect complement to the Respect. The Respect Pearl is wrapped with the 74 Response Pearl cover and is paired with a more dense Tetra symmetric core to promote a longer more controlled down lane motion. I love having this ball in my bag, especially on a shot that is broken down. Getting this ball to the spot is very simple and the ball motion to the pocket is completely unmatched to its competition. If you own the Respect or if you're looking for something a little longer that doesn't lack in the hook department then this is definitely your ball. If you're someone who likes to play a straighter line, or if you're an avid sport bowler looking for a ball that has the ability to play straighter angles, then I would highly suggest getting yourself a Respect Pearl. Respect Pearl, Respect just got a whole lot easier to earn.

LANE CONDITION

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):  THS

COMMENTS

Drilled two of these with one being pin over middle finger and cg in palm, sorry do not remember the dual angle on this.  The other is a 45 x 4 x 70 layout, putting the pin below the ring finger and cg kicked out to the right.
So far my likes with this ball is that it is not as strong as the Respect for me.  I can easily get this ball to push through the heads and read the backend of the lane.  The backend movement of this ball is very strong, but consistent so very easy to read where as the Respect for me would turn left on the backend and was too strong a lot of the time.  Very happy to see this ball come out though in this line as now I can use the Moxie for heavier shots, ball down to the Respect, and now in the same line you can ball down from the Respect to the Respect Pearl.

Dislikes:  Only dislike I have seen is that if you get a little fast on ball speed the ball squirts in the oil with the OOB cover the way it is.

Ball: Respect Pearl
Specs: 15lbs, 2.52RG, .047Diff
Cover: 74 Response
Core: Tetra LD
Right Hand
PAP: 5 7/8 right, 7/8 up
Layout: 50 degrees x 4” x 30 degrees

The Respect Pearl is the perfect complement to the Respect. The Respect has a 79 Alert Hybrid cover stock, a Tetra core that has a 2.49RG and a .052Diff. The Pearl Respect has a higher RG, a lower Diff and a slightly weaker cover so the ball gets down the lane with ease storing energy for the big flip on the backend. Just like the Respect, this ball hits hard and carries the corner pins. This is a really good ball, my favorite so far!

Layout: 75 x 4 3/4 x 35 (Surface OOB)

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS/ WTBA Athens

With the layout that I used on this Respect pearl I was expecting alot of length with a flippy back end reaction. The length I certainly got but to my surprise this one didn't go sideways on the back half of the pattern. Much like the original Respect, this complement gives me that same heavy roll throughout the midlane and an easy transition off the dry. You will get the same continuation through the pins as the original Respect as well. This is a great complement to the original Respect or Black Ops.

I wouldn't say that this is the first ball that you take out of your bag. Once the pattern starts to open up and you require something to clear the heads this will be a good go to piece.

REVIEW:

I was EXTREMELY excited to get my Respect Pearl.  This ball will allow higher rev players, such as myself to stay further right longer.  This is another great one two punch from 900 global.  People will be able to start out using the original Respect, once that ball is too strong in the mid-lane then they will be able to the Respect Pearl and move 2 or 3 boards back right.

Coming of the success of the Respect, this introduction takes backend motion to another level. The Respect Pearl comes wrapped with the 74 Response pearl cover, previously used on the Dream. It also uses the same core shape as in the Respect with a slight tweak on the core numbers. This version is best for medium oil conditions. I used a 45x4x65 layout on the Respect Pearl.

Bowling on a 40 foot medium volume oil house shot, the Respect Pearl has the perfect combo of length with backend shape. Giving you more length and a more angular backend shape than the Respect. This was perfect for our house shot. It allowed me to move in and really open up the lane. This cover will handle oil a little better than most pearls on the market.

If you liked the first Respect this new version will not disappoint. This is the pearl ball everyone needs to have in their bags this season.

900 Global Respect Pearl
#15.3
3" pin
2.2 oz top

Rt. hand
14-15 mph
PAP 4 9/16

Drilling: 5 x 3, pin up, surface OOB
Volume 38-41ft
THS, Kegel Challenge Series, Sport

Drilled my Respect Pearl 5 x 3, pin up over label.  This one does as advertised.  Touch less overall hook that Respect and for me has a nice controllable pop on the backend.  With the layout I am able to swing the track and see an arc/flip motion that enables me to hang out in the dry longer than normal.  Pleasantly surprised with the skid up front this ball gives me but the lower diff seemed to give it some mid lane revs you normally don't see in a pearl.  Throwing this through the breakpoint wasn't a concern at all.  Excellent compliment to the original Respect as it fits that I need more skid the lanes are breaking down transition -  and it looks cool too!  Great addition to the Global line.

900 Global Respect Pearl

Coverstock: 74 Responseâ„¢ Pearl
Finish: 1500 Grit, Polished
Color: Orange/Red/Silver
Core: Tetra LDâ„¢ Symmetric
Flare Potential: 4-5″
Layout: 45* x 5-1/8 x 33*

Bowler specs:
17 MPH
60* axis rotation
22* axis tilt
350 rev rate

I loved the Dream from 900 Global so I was highly excited to see the release of the Respect Pearl since it has the same cover and it has not disappointed. Since drilling it about 5 weeks ago it has not left my bag and it is the first ball out to see the initial transition of the lanes once one of the Engineer series balls begins to hook too soon. I have seldom in all the hundreds of balls I have drilled ever had a ball that finishes as strong as the Respect Pearl. Just ordered my second one and can't wait to try another layout on this gem.

After having a chance to get in some games on my Respect Pearl, I wish I would have been trying to using it more.  What I see with this ball is it does need a little friction and it's somewhat skiddish in a pile of oil. But a positive that I did see is when I shipped it to the dry the ball blended that part of the lane out very well and the ball gave me the feeling I could attempt to throw the ball as far right as I wanted without having the fear of it not coming back.  I see this ball fitting most styles of bowlers on medium to dry conditions.  Speed dominate players are going to need stronger drills with low holes and maybe a little surface change.  Good luck in all your bowling and go global!!!

74 Response Pearl Coverstock @ 1500 polish
Tetra Symmetric core
layout - 60x3.75"x60
weighthole below PAP
RG - 2.52
Diff - .047
Pin - 3.5"
Ball speed - 17-18mph
Right-handed cranker
Lane condition - 41' THS medium/heavy
This ball is a great compliment to the Respect! If you love the reaction of the Respect and need a little more length, look no further than the Respect Pearl! Another MUST-HAVE for your arsenal! This ball works best when the lanes have started transitioning and you need something to read the midlane clean and not jump left off the back. As with the original Respect, the Respect Pearl gives a nice, smooth, predictable reaction with continuation through the pocket. Works great on the fresh as well!

Extremely exciting ball.  The Respect Pearl is a ball that compliments the respect perfectly.  The aggressive coverstock of the Respect is well complimented by the Respect pearl. The pearl gets down a little farther but still has the same general amount of hook known to be loved by the respect.  The tight roll keeps everything moving down lane.  You can play a little straighter if you need to or have the ball get through the heads a little easier.  The power is not lost at all for with this great looking bowling ball.  If you have the respect, go ahead and build your arsenal with the pearl.  It will be something you can switch back and forth between.  I am truly pleased with my pearl and will use it for some time to come.  Very excited.  Tons of high scores already posted with ball.  I only hope the same for you.  Pick it up today!

COMMENTS
Clean through the front part of the lane with a nice balance of skid and flip ball shape. When the Respect is grabbing too early or Dream Big is too angular, put the Respect Pearl in your hand. You will definitely be able to get deep when the lanes break down and play some area. I found the OOB cover to be a winner on a wide variety of patterns from a THS to sport. The shelf appeal is 2nd to none with this ball. Pick one up and earn some more respect!

This ball is THE go to ball on a typical house shot.  The 37’-38’ house oil pattern is what this ball is designed to read like a book.  The Respect Pearl is without a doubt the sharpest hooking ball I have in my arsenal.  It is very smooth through the heads and begins its lift off to the pocket as soon as it crosses the 42’-43’ mark.  I drilled this one at 1:30 off the ring finger and MB 1” right of the thumb hole and used 2000-grit on the cover.  Fall leagues are right around the corner so if you want to impress your friends and make them feel envious, show how you EARN Respect on the lanes. (My PAP is 5 3/4” right and 5/8” up, ball speed is about 15.5mph and medium rev rate)
