The Xponent is a little earlier than my Phaze 2. It definitely screams benchmark with the solid cover and where it fits in the lineup. It’s a little more round in the backend than the P2 but it’s evident this ball is very good from the word go. More ball than my IQ tour, this one fills a gap in the line up. It uses the Shrapnel 2.0 Core and the Blend 701 solid Coverstock. This one deserves consideration for your bag.

The XPonent is a new symmetric ball in 900 Global’s 700 series line. It features the new Reserve Blend 701 Solid coverstock, which feels similar to Storm’s R2S cover and Roto’s eTrax cover. The core is the Shrapnel 2.0 core from the Ordnance C4, which comes in at a 2.48 RG and a .042 differential. The XPonent feels a lot like a slightly stronger version of Roto’s Hyped Solid, reaction shape is part way between round and an arc and is somewhat directional. It will be continuous if you want it to be or will be forward if you want it to be. The XPonent has been used on several different conditions with a couple different surfaces. The XPonent’s box surface is 4000, but I find that changing the box surface helps to break the ball in faster, so I resurfaced it to 1000 and then finished it with Reacta Skuff to get it to a 3000ish grit sheen. At this surface, it fit well on the fresh on the Kegel Chromium pattern we use to test. It also feels quite a bit like an IQ Tour with a stronger backend move that’s a little more versatile when moving inside. As it lane shines, it weakens and also gets a little smoother, but this is great because it offers a lot of versatility, but also tames somewhat as the lane begins to transition, which helps you stay in the same place longer, or doesn’t require you to move as often or as much. With surface, the XPonent can definitely be a first ball out of the bag for most league conditions and is a strong consideration for most sport patterns of medium length and medium volume or below. With lane shine or polish, it can also be a step down from something like a Zen, Zen Gold Label, or a Phaze 2 both on tougher conditions and in league.

The Xponent combines a new cover blend with a core last seen in the Ordinance C4. We drilled this ball with our normal layout: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 4x4x2 (pin is above bridge). The first thing that we noticed was how smooth this cover/core combination is. This ball easily fits in to that ‘benchmark’ ball category. Predictability that is like the Phaze II and original Hy-Road to give an example. This is probably the most consistent mid-high performance (below the Zen line) ball that the 900 Global has produced to date. One thing to note is we did not change the out of box surface on this piece (Often we will blend the covers a bit to be a slight bit more predictable on our house pattern). With its versatility we see this ball being in many bags, league bowlers and tournament players too!

The Xponent is a new ball to our line and I was very impressed when I saw the shape it made. The Xponent features the 801 Reserve Solid Coverstock with the Shrapnel 2.0 core which was featured in the Ordinance C4. It’s a very smooth and predictable piece that I have found to like. If you’re one of those high rev players, I think this is the ball for you

I drilled my XPONENT up 4.5 x 4 x 3. This puts the ball in a pin up position just above my ring finger. I have thrown it mainly at the 4000 abr box finish. I have thrown this on regular house conditions and also in a PBA50 Regional on Steelsmith-42 pattern.
On house, I have used it to blend out the wet/dry very well. It has enough shape to roll thru the tugs into the puddle and is smooth enough to blend out the dryer part of the lane. I can use a little more hitting power doing this so I have to make sure I don't let off the fingers doing this or it is flat ten every time. On the Steelsmith-42 pattern, it was a little too early as the pattern had a lower volume for a 42 foot pattern and more of a shined ball like the 900 GLOBAL ZEN GOLD LABEL was a better option as it didn't see that up front friction the XCEPTION seen. The XCEPTION side by side with balls like the GOLD LABEL and DNA were like this: DNA was more earlier and continuous motion. While the ZEN GOLD LABEL was longer thru the fronts and more down lane than the XPONENT.
Grab an XPONENT if you want to smooth out the wet/dry of league or need something a little less than your bigger earlier hook monsters more in the middle range.

The 900 Global Xponent features the 701 reserve blend solid cover and the C4 core. I had a C4 and it was great for the shorter-medium sport patterns. When you needed control. I drilled the Xponent 55x5x40.
I bring this ball with me a lot since drilling it(yes I know I am late to the party). I will throw this ball in practice to not only break the lanes down but to also find were the lane is telling me where to play. I find that this ball is great for finding that or telling you if you need less or more ball.
I will admit that this ball is a little cleaner for a solid than anticipated. With that being said this ball has no trouble getting through the fronts. Reads the mid lane well and gives you control with a little bit of pop on the back end. I think this ball will be great for any tournament bowlers bag and even the average league bowlers bag.

The 900 Global Xponent is Global’s latest release that features the all-new Reserve Blend 701 solid reactive cover that’s paired with the Shrapnel 2.0 symmetric core that was found in the Ordinance C4. The intent of this core/cover combo was to create a ball with a predictable, benchmark reaction that can be the first ball out of the bag that also provides the optimal shape for medium volume lane conditions.
I drilled the Xponent with my standard drilling I use for many symmetrical balls which puts the pin above my ring finger with the CG kicked to the right. After throwing it for a few games, I definitely think the folks at 900 Global nailed the design intent of the Xponent. For me, it’s a medium-strong ball with a very continuous motion throughout the entire lane – which is exactly what I look for in a benchmark ball. The Reserve Blend 701 solid cover is strong enough that it still reads the reads the lane when in oil, and when it sees friction the medium strength Shrapnel 2.0 core helps the ball to roll off the dry instead of jerking too hard. What’s also great is that the Xponent is adaptable to different hand positions, so if I stay behind it a bit more it responds accordingly by going more forward, but if I have a stronger hand position it will come harder off the spot. By comparison, the OG Zen is a bit stronger overall, and the Zen Gold Label is cleaner with a sharper backend.
The Xponent is a great addition to the 900 Global lineup and fits the bill of a solid benchmark ball. All players need a ball like this in their bag that gives them a predictable motion for league as well as tournaments.

The all new Xponent has fast become one of my favorites. This ball is a great piece that fits perfectly between my Phase 2 and !Q tour. The Xponent features the all-new Reserve Blend 701 Cover has been paired with the Shrapnel 2.0 Symmetric Core to create an optimal shape for a benchmark ball. I see a lot of versatility with this bal which is what I want out of a benchmark ball. I am able to play straight angles and I am also able to move left and open up the lane while not sacrificing ball motion. I have no doubt that this ball will be in my arsenal for a long time.

The new 900 Global Xponent is the next must have ball in everybody's bag. This has turned into my benchmark ball and is usually the firts ball out of my bag. It has a very smooth reaction that's picks up well in the midlane but smooth's out on the backend, but carries the corners very well. The ball is very predicable and smooth with its out of box finish, so I wanted to try it with a little shine on it and I was not disappointed. It is much cleaner through the midlane but really breaks off the friction down lane. I compare this ball to one of my favorites, The Ordiancne C4. The Xponent is smoother out of the box than the C4 but overall a bit stronger. I feel the Xponent is a great replacement for the C4 in my bag.

I have some strong words for this ball! The Xponent has risen to the level of my favorite benchmark ball EVER!
I just can’t believe how versatile this ball is. When people come to my shop asking about it, I put it up against balls such as the Idol and Phaze2. I tend to say something on the lines of, If the Idol and Phaze2 were combined, you would have the Xponent. Early in the life of the Xponent, people would compare it to the original !Q, but I don’t see it.
I see it as being cleaner and more angular than an Idol, but not as clean and angular as a Phaze2. Although I can absolutely get left with this ball at the end of a block and it doesn’t have an issue coming off the dry and still generating angle to carry. A lot of times, you can only get so far left with a solid before it burns up and/or isn’t able to generate the angle to carry, not with this ball!
The Xponent does it all. For me, this ball is a MUST in the arsenal! I no longer carry a Phaze2 because of this ball!

The Xponent is a great house shot ball and a filler ball when you have a gap in your arsenal for medium patterns that is more smooth. Even though this ball is designed to be more smooth I drilled mine stronger with a sharper pin buffer
4 3/4 x 5 x 1 just to give me a lil more forgiveness if I miss at the bottom or leak it too far left. The Xponent is a great compliment if you had a 3 ball arsenal with 900 Global Reality for heavy oil, 900 Global Eternity/Eternity Pi for medium-heavy oil and 900 Global Xponent for medium oil.
In league I have been able to use it all 3 games in a typical lefty fashion standing 20 and rolling it down 2nd arrow and just walks to the pocket. Once the lanes start to change then I would move my feet right 4-5 boards aiming to 13-14 at the arrows and with the buffer being 1 inch it helps it recover down lane when I get around it. I have not used it much in tournaments but I can see it being a ball to change to after 1-2 games (living in California/bay area). The Xponent is a ball I can see you can’t go wrong having in your bag!

The Xponent is a new solid sym in the 700 series line. Holy moly this ball is amazing! Comparing to other symmetrical solids, this ball is below the Phaze 2, barely and is above the IQ Tour. For me the Phaze 2 is great, but there are times I do want something between it and the IQ Tour. The Xponent solves that problem! It’s the perfect blend of the Phaze 2 and the IQ Tour. Honestly it might replace the Phaze 2 for me in my house shot bag because it’s a little more versatile than the Phaze 2 when the volume is lower. The more I move left with the Xponent, and slow my speed, the more it wants to come around the corner! For being a mid diff solid this ball is incredible

Benchmark. Versatile. Consistent. Those three descriptions are perfect for the new 900 Global Xponent. This ball lives in the 700 series, meaning mid-level performance but very compatible with all types of styles, rev-rates, and angles. The RG comes in at 2.48, has a differential of .042, and it’s wrapped with a 701 solid coverstock. The core is symmetrical and so far I’ve been extremely impressed with the Xponent.
I’ve drilled two so far but the one I’ve had the most success with is mapped out as 5 x 3.5 with a 4’ pin buffer. This puts the pin below my bridge with a decent shift of the CG. I used it right out of the box and let oil create a lane-shine finish. I think the closest comparison to this ball is a Phaze II. Comparing the two, I believe the Xponent reads the lane just as early, but I have the response time quicker. That could explain the differential between the two balls. With a lower differential, the Xponent sees friction a little faster and creates a quicker response time.
Across several different patterns and surfaces, I’ve had a ton of success with the Xponent as one of the first balls out of my bag. It compliments the Eternity Pi, Zen Gold Label, and DNA really well.
If you’re looking for a strong, benchmark piece to add to your league or tournament bag, go drill the Xponent by 900 Global!

Ordnance C4 replacement? ABSOLUTELY!
I typically play what the lanes dictate, so this ball has the versatility to accommodate all levels of bowlers. Predictable and trustworthy is how I feel about the
X-Ponent.
I have only used on THS in league and several local tournaments in different centers and it has become my go to ball when the big asymmetrical and symmetrical balls lose carry. The low RG (2.48), medium DIFF.(0.042) and the New 701 Blend solid cover blends out the wet/dry issues I have encountered. Same shape for me as the C4 but more forgiving than my IQ Tour for my game.

The Xponent is a new and improved version of a shape originally provided by the Ordnance C4. The low RG, medium DIFF solid symmetrical fills a very important gap between the IQ Tour Solid and the higher diff solid symmetricals like the Phaze 2 or the TNT. This ball is perfect for starting a little more direct on a more blended pattern, or for blending out the wet/dry of many house shots. The Xponent is a huge addition to our current product line. This ball fills a very important gap and provides a squarely medium symmetrical solid that compliments several pieces in our current product line. The Xponent has a spot in everyone's bag!

The 900 Global Xponent is in the benchmark category when comparing it to the Phaze II and Summit. I drilled this piece with a stronger layout for bowling the PBA50 Tour. Out of box this ball is slightly weaker than my Phaze II and also slower off the end of the pattern where the Phaze II has more continuous motion.
On the house shot the Xponent is not a ball I can move left and swing the lane with. I need to keep my angles shallower towards my target and get help from the dry at the end of the pattern. I did have success using the Xponent on the Monacelli 40’ PBA pattern during the Lightning Strikes PBA 50 National Tour event on the fresh.
With the surface of the Xponent I scratched it with a 1000 abralon by hand and I have let it shine up by itself. This has helped blend the wet/dry on the house pattern which has more volume than the PBA 50 patterns.

The Xponent is currently the only ball in the 700 series, so based on that, it should be in the mid-level performance range, perfect for a benchmark ball - not too diggy early and not too flippy in the back end. The Xponent provides a nice consistent read, which allows it to be versatile, but I feel most comfortable playing straighter lines right of 3rd arrow. I could see this as a great ball to keep me out of trouble on tougher challenge and sport conditions.

The 900 Global Xponent is my new benchmark ball in my bag. I am extremely happy that this ball came out. I had the C4 and wished it had just a little more length and a little more backend and that is what the Xponent just gave me. Not did this ball also give me the length and backend that I wanted but I am also able to have a very controllable and predictable ball in my hand. I have not seen so much miss room out of a ball until I threw the Xponent. The hitting power out of this ball is ridiculous I am so happy that 900 Global has rejuvenated the C4 and made Xponent everything that I have been looking for.

Great benchmark ball

This ball surpassed all my expectations and has been one of the most versatile balls ive thrown this year. Its definitely a perfect middle-of-the-bag type of ball, got plenty of options above and below it. I think it fits between a Phaze II and an IQ Tour, just clean, smooth, and medium strength. I can use it on different houses, different sport shots (especially the short/medium length ones or once it starts to dry up but the backends are still tight), straight or hooking the whole lane, handled surface and shine well, etc.. it was just a super versatile ball that worked best when you needed a bit of an early rolling and smooth reaction.

The 900 Global Xponent is the best example of a benchmark in the current Global line (in my humble opinion). At a 4000 grit finish, an RG of 2.48 and a very medium differential of 0.042, it's an extremely predictable motion throughout every part of the lane and easily the first ball out of many bags. I drilled mine 5 3/4 x 4 x 2, and it's the smoothest ball in my bag outside of urethane. For the cliffed up house shots or anything medium volume, this is the one. The upcoming Xponent Pearl should complement this extraordinarily well and allow you to stay in your comfort zone just a little longer by using both as a 1-2 combo.

Likes: The 900 Global Xponent features the Shrapnel 2.0 symmetrical core with the All New Reserve Blend 701 cover. The Shrapnel Core was last featured in the Ordnance C4. But the coverstock had yet to be seen before the Xponent. For the most part the Xponent reminded me a lot of the Ordnance C4 but better in my opinion. The Xponent offers me an amazing benchmark type reaction that is a little less overall than the Phaze 2 but a little bit earlier and smoother than say an IQ Tour Solid. If I am going to be honest the Xponent for me has not been amazing on a house shot. The IQ tour is definitely a better option for me. But on any sport pattern it is the exact opposite. The Xponent has became one of my go to’s on anything hard. But I will say all because it’s that way for me doesn’t mean it will be that way for you. Everybody is different and even if one ball doesn’t match up for you doesn’t mean it won’t match up for somebody else! I will end my review on this. If you are looking for a good all around bench mark ball then look no further than the 900 Goobal Exponent!

I am a higher speed, rev challenged 220-250ish, high tilt, high rotation, and super low track player. I drilled 900 Global Xponent 5 x 3 x 2 and my axis point is 3 ¼ right and 7/8 up. The 900 Global Xponent symmetric solid reactive piece that I really like medium/low volume patterns where there’s lots of friction . The low Rg and medium diff gives this ball medium- high flare potential when I need something to be clean, smooth, and controllable this is the ball to go to.

The new Xponent solid from 900 Global, new cover Reserve Blend 701 with a core we saw previously from Global in the Ordinance C4. For me the Xponent is a huge step up from the C4 in continuation. This ball, for my slower ball speed is a benchmark nugget. 1st on out of the bag. The versatility of this ball is unmatched for me. Reads the lane, never squirts on heavier oil playing straighter, tighter lines. In comparison, as long as I can get the Xponent thru the fronts this ball never overreacts off the spot. Fav layout on this ball 5 x 5 x 3, pin up. Out of box 4000 finish is perfect. The ball has performed so well have had no need to change the surface in either direction. Carry is phenomenal for me as it allows me to play straighter angles on multiple conditions. Have had 2 800's, one in our local city in 2 months' time. Must have in the bag for a tournament arsenal. This is not only a keep you out of trouble ball, it strikes when need it the most. Looking forward to the Xponent Pearl!
