Zen Gold Label
« on: August 30, 2023, 12:49:37 PM »
Introducing the Zen Gold Label, 900Global's cleanest and most responsive Zen ball to date! Meticulously handcrafted, this ball is designed to give you the freedom to widen your angles without worrying about missing the breakpoint. Equipped with our innovative Reserve Blend 801 Pearl Cover and the Meditate Symmetric Core, the Gold Label dominates on medium-heavy lane conditions like no other. The Meditate Symmetric Core, a proven performer, serves as the driving force behind the Gold Label. Its compatibility with the clean and responsive cover is evident, ensuring precision in every shot. Unlike skid/flip bowling balls that may struggle to hit the desired target, this single-density symmetric core excels in spot accuracy, thanks to its substantial size and readability. With a low RG/high differential configuration, the symmetric core perfectly complements the cover, harmonizing angularity for a balanced performance. The Reserve Blend 801 Pearl Cover has been meticulously engineered to deliver an exceptionally clean look through the front part of the lane, surpassing any other cover so far in the 800 Series. After extensive research and development spanning over a year and a half, 900Global carefully combined various additives with their existing cover formulations, resulting in a groundbreaking creation exclusive to the Global line. Enhanced with Reacta-Gloss finish, the Reserve Blend 801 Cover offers increased angularity compared to the original Zen's S77 Response Cover. Experience the unparalleled cleanliness, responsiveness, and versatility of the Zen Gold Label. It sets a new standard in performance, allowing you to conquer medium-heavy lane conditions with confidence and finesse.

Zen Gold Label has been a surprise for me. Really liked the original Zen and was nervous that this would be a let down. My layout was a 5x4x4 This gets my pin pretty much right above the 2 fingers. This big core matched with the pearl cover gets the ball through the fronts than really banking on the back end. Storing all that energy to really crush through the pins. This ball has been great on the fresh. Also great when they start to dry up and you want to create that steep angel to the pocket. Grab some Gold Label

There has been some really good equipment that is being released right now from Storm, Roto Grip and 900 Global and it all starts with this Zen Gold Label. Let’s talk about the Zen Gold Label. All I can say is FANTASTIC. The Zen Gold Label is going to be able to replace most of my dryer condition equipment. Instead of having two balls to transition too I will just need the Gold Label. It will be very versatile for you and will be able to play straight or get deep with this and carry out the corners. So smooth and controllable off the break point with plenty of hitting power. The back end on the Gold Label is what I was looking for Zen from the and just couldn’t get this reaction out of the Zen. Put the Gold Label on the pallet list because this ball is special.

The 900 Global Zen Gold Label is in a word, RESPONSIVE. The original Zen was extremely strong front to back for a symmetric pearl, and the biggest difference I see here is how much cleaner and quicker down the lane the reserve blend 801 cover is than the S74 on the Zen. I went with 5 3/4 x 4 x 2 for the layout and the ball never sees the first 15 feet of the lane, even on somewhat burned up lanes. This ball isn't necessarily something I would recommend as the first ball out of your bag as it can be a little unpredictable at box surface on fresh oil, but as soon as your bigger stuff starts to burn up a little or get lazy down the lane, this is the go-to for creating shape down the lane and through the pins. I threw mine at box surface as well as with 1000/step 2 polish and both were excellent...box surface being a little cleaner and more responsive. If you have the OG Zen, the Gold Label creates an extremely effective 1-2 punch. If not, it complements bigger/stronger covers very well as the first step down out of those.

Length:42

Volume:26

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

Likes:    The Zen Gold Label features the same Meditate Core that is in all of the other Zens but this one is wrapped with the Reserve Blend 801 Pearl Coverstock. The Gold Label and me definitely had a shaky start. Out of the box it was a little bit too clean and whippy for me so I put it away for a few weeks. Then I went to bowl a tournament and I hit it with a 1000 grit pad and ever since then I absolutely love it. I recently won a doubles tournament solely throwing the Gold Label! Now that it has lane shined back up it does exactly what I wanted it to do. Now it reads the midlane a lot more overall but still has a killer amount of backend so it blends the lane out so much better. For anybody wondering how it compares to some of the other balls in the lineup it is definitely longer and sharper the the Original Zen but weaker and longer compared to the Eternity. So if you are looking for a really good sharp benchmark type reaction in a pearl ball than look no further than the Zen Gold Label!!!

Layout: 50 x 4 ½ x 35

The Zen Gold Label satisfies the need for a ball to go to after the original Zen – it is 2-3 feet cleaner and has a “flippier” motion in the backend. Whereas the original Zen has a good amount of midlane traction, the Gold Label moves that traction a few feet further down the lane.  The end result is a ball that is best at home on medium to medium-dry conditions.  Due to how clean this ball is in the front part of the lane, it is not best for heavier or longer oil conditions, nor was it designed for those. The original Zen, Xponent, or Sublime would be one ball stronger, and the Eternity Pi would be the choice for true heavy oil.

I am a higher speed, rev challenged 220-250ish, high tilt, high rotation, and super low track player. I drilled my 900 Global Zen Gold Label 5 x 3 x 2 and my axis point is 3 ¼ right and 7/8 up. The Zen Gold Label is a strong symmetric pearl reactive piece that I really like to use lanes with low volume and high friction. The low Rg and high diff gives this ball high flare potential when I need something to be clean and off the spot this is the ball to go to.
