Title: Zen Master
Post by: BallReviews-scodaddy21 on August 11, 2021, 04:38:25 PM
The 900Global Zen Master high-performance bowling ball uses the S77R Solid coverstock which is ideal for medium to heavy oil. This coverstock a paired with the Meditate Symmetric Core making this ball the strongest symmetric ball in the current 900Global line. The core allows this ball to rev up quickly and continue through the length of the lane. Due to the large size of the core, layouts with the pin up or down will not affect the RG/Diff much after the ball is drilled. This ball will pair well on house or sport conditions.

Color: Megenta/Black/Green
All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown
Core: Meditate Symmetric
Coverstock: S77 Response Solid Reactive
Finish: 3000 Grit Abralon
Hook Potential: High
Length: Medium
Recommended Lane Condition: Medium-Heavy Oil
RG: 2.49 (for 15# ball)
Differential: 0.051 (for 15# ball)

Layout: 5x5x2
Lane Pattern: house shot, 42 feet
PAP: 5 7/8 over and 3/8 up
Ball Speed: 15 mph

I was late to the party on the Zen. Wasn’t going to make the same mistake with Zen Master. Any time I can put a strong symmetrical ball in my bag, it’s going to be a good day.

When first seeing the RG and differential numbers on the Zen Master I wondered just how different it would be from a Phaze 2. For me, it’s noticeably different. Still a super controllable shape, just much stronger and earlier than the Phaze 2. I went with the same layout on the Zen Master as I did on my Phaze 2 and it’s a good 4-5 boards stronger for me.

Ball is receptive to hand position changes. I was able to back my hand out and play between 1st and 2nd arrow and get it to tumble. Getting around it more and was able to move in between 3rd and 4th arrows and give the pocket away to around the 6-7 board. That’s covering some real estate for me and gets through the pins.

You’re going to need oil up front for this one. I can see speed dominant players being able to stay a little further right in the dry and have success. If you’re a little more rev dominant I don’t see any issues with you moving inside and getting this one to turn the corner for you. This ball will appeal to a wide range of bowlers.

Pairing this one with the original Zen is a great 1-2 combo for any bowler. Put a spare ball in the mix and you have a 3-ball arsenal that should be able to hit most league conditions if you’re not inclined to bring a lot of equipment to league.

I don't think you'll go wrong with this purchase.

The Prime 800 Series greatly anticipated Zen Master does not disappoint and is an excellent complement to the Zen Pearl.  The Zen Master features the S77 response cover combined with the Medtiate Symmetric core, which is the biggest core 900 Global has ever put into a bowling ball. This is the most aggressive symmetric ball I have in my arsenal. I tested this ball on 44 feet typical house pattern. As a mid to low rev player, I was able to move left of 20 and open the lanes up. I was also able to stand right of 20, play the track area and swing it outside of five with great success. Just like the Pearl the Zen Master strikes a lot. My ball’s layout is 65 x 5 x 45. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. Order one from your local pro shop today! My ball review videos are posted on YouTube channel Stanley Waite.

Orientation:  Right Handed
Rev Rate:  400 RPM
Speed:  16-17 MPH
PAP:  4 ½ over and ½ up

Location:  Enterprise Park Lanes, Springfield MO
Pattern:  High Volume THS
VLS Layout:
Layout 1:  5 x 4 x 2 ½  (pin above bridge)

LOVE THE ZEN.  It’s one of my favorite balls of all time!  Sometimes it isn’t strong enough.  Zen Master solves the problem.  The Zen Master hits the mid lane just like the Zen and keeps on hooking.  But since it’s solid, it does it about 5 feet sooner.  It’s EXACTLY what you think it would be.  Need I say more.

Last season the 900 Global Zen took the lanes by storm and quickly became a must have for every bowler. This season bowlers will have another ball they must add to their arsenal, Zen Master. The Zen Master features the same Meditate Core found in the original Zen but has the S77 Response Solid Cover. I was so hyped about this ball that I drilled two of them right off the rip, a pin down 4.5 x 4 x 4 and a pin up 5 x 5 x 3. Starting with the pin down one, this ball provides me a lot of early hook and a smoother motion where as the pin up one lets me open the lane up and is stronger on the backend. I have to say these two balls remind me a lot of the two Roto Grip Idols I had and I loved them, they made a great 1-2 punch on a lot of pattern lengths and volumes. Your not going to want to miss out on this ball, I will always have both these balls with me and I cant wait to use them more and more!

Compared my Zen Master  up against my Phaze 2 and Axiom.  Definitely was earlier and smoother for me then both. That being said I believe I'm going to like it the most.  That's crazy to even say with how much I like the other 2. The early motion while still creating as much continuation as this ball has in the back is going to make it the 1st ball out of the bag for anyone that bowls anywhere with a decent amount of oil on the lanes.

The Zen Master features the S77 Response solid coverstock and incredibly strong symmetric Meditate core.  Angel’s layout as always is 5 x 3 ½ x 3 ½, putting the pin above her bridge, mine is 4 ¾ x 3 ½ x 3 ½, putting the pin in my ring finger, and because this is a symmetric core, the cg placement doesn’t matter.  Global covers give you some semblance of their strength with the number in the cover name, S77 is getting up on the strong side and is currently Global’s second strongest cover, and it feels like it’s in Incite territory, or like the solid version of that coverstock would be the best frame of reference, it’s really strong, early, and smooth.  The Meditate core is the same one from the Zen, 2.49 RG and an .051 differential in 15 pounds,, and it’s very strong, early, and rolly, reminds me a lot of the Centripetal HD core from the Son!Q and Super Son!Q, so I think that’s why the Zen has been so popular, it’s the best of several different worlds.  It’s a really smooth and blendy ball that’s squarely in Phaze 2 territory.  I think it’s actually a bit earlier and smoother, it feels like it’s trying to roll a little sooner and it definitely rolls a bit heavier, but realistically the difference is pretty small.  There aren’t a lot of nuances to talk about here, the ball reaction is pretty straightforward. It hooks a lot and is really smooth.  For ratings, once again it’s solidly in Phaze 2 territory but I think even a bit stronger and earlier, so approaching Axiom strength and length, but a bit slower, so the Zen Master gets a 9 for hook potential, a 4 for length and a 4 for backend.

Zen Master
S77 Response Solid
3000 finish OFB
RG: 2:49 Differential: 0.057
Drilling: 40 X 4 X 50

It’s finally here! The new Zen Master by 900 Global. I have to say I was so excited when I first heard the ball was going to be released by 900 Global. Since a drilled and started throwing the Zen. It has been the first ball out of my bag. I have had my first 300 and highest series to date 793. I was hoping that solid version of this ball was coming and well no we have it delivers. Zen master with the S 77 response solid cover is smoother down lane with a lot of backend. Then Zen master has great continuation through the pins. Zen master is a bit earlier and smoother than say the phase 2 and not as angular as the original Zen. The Zen Master will be a staple in my bag for sure. It will be a great compliment to the phase 2 and the original Zen. The Zen Master will be a versatile for various play styles and lane conditions. If you're looking for a new strong symmetrical ball, check out the new Zen master at your local VIP pro shop.

Zen Master:
The Zen Master features the S77 Response Solid cover and the Meditate symmetric Core. The numbers on the Meditate core are 2.49 RG, .051 diff.

Mine is drilled 4.5” to PAP with a 2.5” pin buffer. The original Zen is a strong contender for “ball of the year”, so the Zen Master has big shoes to fill. And I will tell you now, the Zen Master is special! I would label the shape as medium-to-med/slow but the S77 cover is super strong. My Zen Master out hooked my Axiom and my Phase II and it reminds me of the original Roto Grip Idol.

I drilled my ZEN MASTER up 65 x 4.5 x 35 which is my go to drilling on most symmetrical pieces. I have left it box which is 3000abr.
ZEN MASTER review:
I have thrown my ZEN MASTER up against some of my other stronger pieces like the PROTON PHYSIX, INCITE, and REALITY. The ZEN MASTER is not quite as strong early as the PROTON or REALITY, but definitely moves earlier than the INCITE. The ZEN MASTER actually makes me think of the PHAZE II with how it shapes and reads the front compared to the big balls. I'm thinking this is just on the stronger side of a benchmark but I was able to get a good read on the lane with mine and make choices from there. I put the original ZEN up against it and obviously the ZEN is longer but the motion is very similar just a few feet further down lane than the ZEN MASTER. This one should be the 900 Global version of the PHAZE II and should be a great medium-strong piece with predictable motion.

The new addition to Global's 800 series line is the new ZEN Master. It has the massive Meditate Symmetric Core from the original Zen, wrapped with the S77 Response Solid Cover which has been purposely engineered for medium-heavy oil. The original Zen quickly became one of my favorite balls, so the Zen Master had some high expectations, to which it did not disappoint. I was very surprised by how strong of a Symmetrical ball this actually was. I picks up much sooner in the midlane than I anticipated, while still having that strong backend motion that I came to love about the original Zen. For me, this ball fits right between the Reality and Ordinance C4, and will be a great benchmark ball for upcoming tournaments.

This is the ball that I have been waiting for since the Idol was discontinued.  This higher end, symmetrical solid reads the midline well and provides good angle as well.  I mentioned the Idol before, but this ball also reminds me a bit of the Dare Devil Trick, an older high end symmetrical solid.  These type balls are the ones that I lean on when I travel to keep me out of trouble and to allow me to get a fast start…the key word here is consistency.  This ball doesn’t do anything that you won’t be expecting.  Control, Consistency, Performance.  I love this ball already!

My Layout for this ball is 50x4.75x30 or 4.75x4x2

The new Zen Master is exactly what I needed in my bag: a stronger Phaze 2. This ball is the perfect step down from the Reality or RST X1. The Zen Master comes with a 3000 abralon finish, but to me looked and rolled like it had more surface than that. Keeping this ball at box finish, it will be able to combat heavy oil patterns with no problem. When it lane shines, it becomes more similar to a Phaze 2 and works well when you need to blend the pattern without too much down lane shape. I like this ball with more shine on it, so for me it has kept getting better with time. I am definitely going to drill another Zen Master pin down, it is that good!

This ball loves oil! I rolled it, actually hooked a little sooner then the Reality, and a little more on the back end as well. BUT...the Reality has lane shine on it, I love that ball as well. I had the Master drilled the same as my Zen...because that is what I wanted. I love the Zen...and this is going to make me love BOTH balls now! When I started my feet were at 25 throwing over 3rd arrow, taking it out to 10-8 boards...and yeah! Its a great starting ball indeed! As the league went on (lol...yes I wanted to throw this ball!) by the 3rd game, standing 32 and hitting 4th arrow and taking it out to 12 board...make sure you keep your speed up, don't get lazy. (or you can change balls lol) I can't lose with this ball if there is a lot of oil on the lane, man it rolls so nice!

Color: Magenta/Black/Green

Review:
Can you say ball of the year? There were very high expectations for this ball due to the high demand of the Original Zen. This piece did not disappoint AT ALL! We love strong symmetrical solids. For high speed and high rev players like ourselves, this piece works great, giving us continued motion and contained energy all the way through the pins. The Zen Master has similar ball motion to the reality, playing a few boards to the right. If you are starting out with a strong Asymmetrical piece this ball would work well as a transition in between that and something similar to the Burner or in the HP2 or HP1 lines by Roto. We anticipate keeping this ball on our shelf in the shop for a while.

I drilled my Zen Master on the weaker side, with a 70x5x80 layout. It is an excellent benchmark piece. My first set on the lanes with it ended up being an 811, moving a total of 3 and 2 left the entire night. Smooth and continuous as any symmetric solid should be. Gives you more overall than the Phaze II. The 3000 finish ensures it won’t miss the breakpoint, but won’t hook too early before it gets there. What impresses me is the ability to stay in it for longer than one game before needing to ball up or down. Another great versatile piece of 900 Global.

Master of the Zen
The 900 Global Zen Master was the most anticipated ball to the start of the fall season. It has lived up to it for sure! It is here to compliment one of the most popular 900 Global balls of all time, the Zen. This ball has the value of any high performance ball. I drilled mine strong with 4x4x2.  If you like the Zen and want earlier midlane roll, this is it. The S77 Response solid cover reads the oil well and produces nice backend motion with a solid roll thru the pins.  If I need more length, i switch to the Zen to get down the lane longer with the same backend motion. If it seems to be too much too early, you can also shine it. That always gives me the length I need to get thru the front part to save more energy on the backend.  My PAP is 5-1/8 and 1/8 up. Usually around 15-16mph, I’d probably be classified between and tweener and cranker.

Review:
The new Global Zen Master is a Solid version of the Original Zen Bowlers has been asking for. The Master is a strong symmetric and I really like it but for me it did not hook as much as I thought it would. It also did not wow me like the original. That being said it is a very good ball and I have shot some good sets and have struck a lot with it. When we did the video I struck 9 out of 10 times and we only kept 6 shots for my son who puts the videos together. The Zen Master provides a nice roll through the front of the lane with a predictable move on the back end. The Master fits under my Proton but above my H.B. Intensity in total hook. The Master and Reality are pretty close in total boards for me. The folks we have drilled the Zen Master for are giving very positive feedback on this ball and their scores with it. I like the way I can stay with this ball through multiple games before I have to ball down. My adjustments are slower than and not as large as when I use a strong Asymmetric ball. This ball seems to roll well regardless of the layout put on it. I feel it is a nice entry into the Medium to Medium Heavy Ball market.

Summary:
The Zen Master is another very good ball by Global.
The Ball reads wetter patterns very well.
The Zen Master has a strong predictable motion.

Likes:With how aggressive the Zen Master is and how early it will read the lane I decided to try something different on the layout. I used a longer pin to PAP layout, 6in, in an effort to help the ball clear just alittle more to make it somewhat usable for me. I found that on balls similar to it, Idol/Phaze2/Axiom, I could not throw them very often just because I dont see enough volume regularly. Thus far I still havent been able to a condition that suits the Zen Master because it is still very strong and rolly. Ive touched the cover alittle to get it to read and just alittle more. Im waiting for my final determination of the ball once i get to throw it on some volume. If you are looking for an upgrade to your Phaze2 or Idol, this Zen Master is definitely it.

RG: 2.49
Differential: 0.051

Layout: 70 x 5 x 40

Review:
The Zen Master features a solid version of the S77 Response cover combined with the newer symmetric core that was first featured in the Zen.  The solid version of this cover will provide a round continuous reaction in the 800 Series line. For me, the Zen Master is the first symmetric out of the bag and provides a nice 1-2 punch with the Zen.

For the video review, I tested the Zen Master on a 43 foot typical house pattern.  This ball was very easy to read as it transitioned down the lane and as with the Zen line in general provides alot of miss room to carry pins. One tip to consider, depending on speed and rev rate, is to allow the Zen Master to get some lane shine on the coverstock. If you typically have trouble getting strong solid coverstocks through the front part of the lane, do not hesitate to try this out for the first several games.

Grab the 900 Zen Master today! Also, be sure to watch the full video to see a quick reminder to stock up on kinesiology tape.

Since the announcement of this ball, I was looking forward to getting a chance to see how much stronger this one was to the Zen. I drilled this the same as my favorite Zen with a 5 * 4 1/4 * 2 layout. Using this on a slightly used house pattern, I could really see the difference in the cover between this one and the Zen. The Zen Master started up about 3 feet sooner for me, which was expected, but even with the strong cover and the fresh surface, the Master never got to a point where it quit. Where I see myself using this are on high volume - medium to 44 foot patterns, and I do see this being a good option when the lanes get super cliffed to blend out the lane. Another great product from SPI in the 900 global line.

The 900 Global Zen Master is a true example of how influential the coverstock is on the reaction of any particular bowling ball; the original Zen is an aggressive skid/flip ball, while the Zen Master is early, smooth, and predictable. Both balls utilize the same core, but the cover on the Master is much earlier and overall more aggressive. The Master is excellent on fresh, heavy, or long oil patterns. The massive amount of midlane roll that this ball boasts helps it to dominate those patterns. The Zen Master is too aggressive to use on anything less than medium oil, though the Zen and Zen Master combine to create a 1-2 punch that covers everything from heavy to medium-light conditions.

The 900 Global Zen Master features the S77 Response Cover and the Mediate Symmetric Core.  The Zen Master has a low RG of 2.49 a high differential of 0.051.  To bring this all together, the solid S77 coverstock will rev up quickly going through the fronts and midlane and have a rounded shape on the backend.
The layout chosen was a 60 x 3 x 40 which will give you a strong angular arc reaction shape, normal transition time and a hook/set ball roll.  With this layout the Zen Master will be great on a variety of patterns such as a medium to long sport or a fresh house shot.
I did a ball comparison to the 900 Global Reality, Zen and the Storm Dark Code. At two different houses, at Rainbow Lanes there was a THS down and at Before the First Frame in Henderson is the 45ft Dragon Pattern
First up is the 900 Global Reality.  The Reality features the S84 Response coverstock with the Disturbance core.  The Reality is stronger on how it starts up sooner but downlane the Zen Master will keeps up with the Reality.
Next is the 900 Global Zen.  The Zen has the S77 Response Pearl cover and Mediate Symmetric core and a great compliment to the Zen Master.  You will see how the Zen Master starts up sooner but the Zen will jump harder into the pocket where you can really open up your angles.
The last ball in the comparison is the Strom Dark Code.  The Dark Code features the REX cover with the Rad 4 asymmetric core.  The Dark Code was weaker by 4 boards which will be great on the transition on either house or sport.

In the Bag, the Zen Master will be the first out the bag followed by the Zen, the Dark Code, RST X-2 and Storm Hyroad.

Testing information: 41 foot THS (medium to light volume)

The 900 Global Zen Master utilizes the S77 solid coverstock with the Mediate core. We all know what this core produced with the pearl version in the Zen.  I am looking forward to finding out how this combination plays out over time.  I drilled this ball pin down, which is rare for me.  I compared it to a pin down Storm Crux Prime I have with the exact same layout.  The Zen Master was earlier and stronger than the Crux Prime.  I see the Zen Master being my option on the fresh heavy oil conditions.  Once the fronts start to hook, I would step down to the Zen.  A friend of mine made the Zen Master look really good in a recent tournament that we crossed together in.  When the ZM started to hook to soon, he went to the 900 Global Ordinace C4 and kept striking.  Many good options as a step down from the Zen Master.

I’m WAY behind the 8 ball on this one, but in a way, that’s a good thing. I usually write these reviews after a week or so with the ball and never circle back around to give updates, good or bad. So, a month after having the Zen Master drilled up by Scott Bijolle at Gold Crown Lanes… here are my thoughts.

I was looking to “replace” or at least come close to replacing my Axiom solid, which has served me well. So, I put the exact same 5x4.5 pin-under layout on it. Initially the ball was MUCH stronger than I remember the Axiom ever being. I think after comparing my findings to other reviews, the S77 Response surface and Meditate Symmetric Core are just simply a stronger option.

As the games have added up, I’m finding exactly what I was hoping for. The surface is smoothing out and that’s opening up more opportunities to use this ball. The layout is giving me a nice tight flare which is helping me control tougher patterns. It’s also proving to blend out the hard edge of high ratio house patterns.
Overall, the ball may not be the go-to out of the bag, but it’s becoming the ball that simplifies the transition and becomes the security blanket when the pattern is confusing me.

The Zen Master is a very strong ball. It hooks more then the original Zen and is a little smoother having the solid cover. On THS this ball would be a great option for longer THS or heavier volumes. On drier THS or shorter THS, this ball might be too much for slower speed and higher rev players.

Layout: 55 x 4 5/8 x 55 which puts the pin in my ring finger.
surfaces tried 1000, 500/2000, 500/3000.

Sport Shot: This ball was so much better on sport shots then on THS for me. This worked extremely well on 46ft Dragon.

I found 500/3000 to be the best surface for me. Compared to the original Zen, this ball was more controllable but sometimes would just hit flat after burning up in the dry. If you are a speed dominant player or matched, then this ball will shine.

If you are rev dominant with slower speeds this might be a hard ball to succeed with and will be more lane pattern specific.

The 900 Global zen for me is the perfectly versatile ball for oiled conditions. It give me great result even if I want to play straighter or more one side to the other of the lane. It's my benchmark ball to begin to play when I know that it have oil on the lane. If it's not enought agressive I will go with the reality, or the aspect if is too strong. It's also a ball that I will play a long moment before need to change it. She give me great result as long as it will have oil zone on the lane. So, the original zen is maybe the ball of the year but the zen master, the best complement of the year. #goglobal  8)

Zen Master • Prime • 800 Series
Coverstock • S77 Response Solid Reactive • Finish 3000 Grit Abralon
Core• Meditate Symmetric
Weight 15lb • RG 2.49 •Differential 0.051
Layout • 70 x 4 x 20
Tester PAP = 4 ½ R x 3/8 D • Tester Axis Tilt = 12° •Testers Rev Rate = 325
Test Pattern = 42' THS (Typical House Shot) • Modified, Kegel Stone Street

900 Global has once again found a stroke of genius with the release of the Zen Master. With the proven Meditate massive symmetric core combined with the S77 Response Solid Reactive cover, the Zen Master lives up to the performance and excellence you can expect in the 900 Global line. So, let's take a look at how the Zen Master handled a THS.

The Meditate core is an absolute must for straighter and down-and-in players like me. It's almost like having the best of both worlds. I love this core's ability to rev up early with its strong symmetric design. And because of its massive size and density, the Meditate core rolls off the pattern with a destructive force like that of a strong asymmetric. I felt comfortable and confident with the Meditate core's strong continuation through the pins, especially when I knew I had missed. Even those predictable ten pins were no match for the intensity the Meditate core provided early on in league conditions. There is no doubt in my mind the Meditate core produces results.

If you are a high-speed/low-rev player like me, the S77 Response Solid reactive cover defines why the Zen Master is a must-have for your arsenal. Playing on fresh oil with the 3000 box finish, I could enjoy playing straight-up ten with ease. I like how this cover cuts its path cleanly through the front part of the lanes and has a biting turn-off the pattern. As the night began to transition, the S77 solid reactive cover continued to make the Zen Master perform flawlessly. I was able to move in and target 15 without any problems or second thoughts of where my line should be. And I like having that kind of confidence!

On a different night, I surfaced the cover to 4000 grit Abralon as my goal was to see if I could get through three games with this cover's strength. And I was not disappointed - even for a high-speed/low-rev player like me, this ball delivered, and the S77 Response Solid Cover gets the job done. However, I recommend that players like me keep the S77 Response Solid cover at the 3000-grit Abralon box surface. And use the Zen Master on fresh oil and during the transition game where it will be most beneficial.

In concluding my review of the Zen Master from 900 Global, I have found this ball to be a powerful piece of machinery for players like me. High-speed/low-rev players will find the Zen Master will deliver excellent results on fresh oil and medium THS conditions without hesitation. The Zen Master can stand on its own but would also be a great compliment ball between the Reality and Burner Solid from 900 Global. I would highly suggest talking to your local pro shop operator today and finding a place for the Zen Master in your arsenal!

900 Global Zen Master Ball Review by PJ Haggerty

One of the most popular balls developed this year was the Zen by 900 Global.  As a compliment to the Zen, the Zen Master was created.  The Master has the S77 Response Solid Cover wrapped outside of the Meditate Symmetric Core and is designed for medium-heavier oil patterns.  As of now, this is the strongest symmetric ball in the 900 Global Line.

I’ve drilled one so far and really like it.  With an RG of 2.49 and differential of .051, I wanted to drill it with the intent of something early, forward, and a slower response time.  My goal is to use it on heavier volume and longer patterns.  I mapped this out as 4 x 4 x 70.  This puts the pin above my ring finger and I’ve left the surface alone too.  I’ve noticed the Zen Master compliments some of the high-performance, asymmetrical balls really well, but more importantly, is an earlier, more round version of the original Zen.

If you need a ball that digs in the mid-lane, is perfect for some of the higher volume patterns, especially on the fresh.  Go drill a Zen Master!  I think you’ll be impressed!

900 Global Zen Master
Cover: S77 Solid Response
Core: Meditate
Layout: 5 x 3x 2.5

The 900 Global Zen Master is the well awaited follow up to the super popular Zen.
The Zen Master shares the Meditate symmetric core with the Zen, but the new Zen
Master utilizes an earlier, slower, more blendy S77 Solid Response cover instead of
the S77 Pearl Response found on the original Zen. The original Zen has a nice
combo of versatility while still allowing for open angles and the ability to really circle
the lane while still feeling a high level of control. The Zen Master can handle more oil
OR blend out a lane really well. It looks good on typical type house patterns with a bit
more volume while it also can help control flying back ends on higher friction
environments as it uses up a bit of its energy sooner which tames down the
downlane hook. If you liked the original Zen but starve for more control and/or more
strength to cover more oil volume, the Zen Master is your ball. I can't wait to give the
Zen Master some time on sport patterns where control is optimal.

Drilled as a step down from my Reality using the same layout it gave me the symmetrical shape expected from the  solid cover S77R and smoothness of the Zen.

Intended to handle more volume it is my first ball used on the fresh in league and the perfect 1-2 combination with the pearl.
More control from a multitude of angles depending on your style. My best looks were from playing the track, then moving in playing steeper angles with slower ball speeds.

As always the cover takes adjustments well, which I prefer mine close to oob with lane shine.

The Zen Master is 2nd Zen ball from 900 Global.  The Zen was and still a huge hit among bowlers.  So they created the Zen Master.  I drilled mine with a 5 inch pin down.
To me the zen core (Meditate Symmetric) is a little early rolling for me.  So with the stronger cover is why I decided to drill mine pin down.
The Zen Master does roll early for me and has a slow response to the friction down lane.  Which is a good thing for when your wanting to keep your angles a little closed and play up the lane and to control the backs when they are really clean.
The Zen Master does remind me a little of the Phaze II but with a little less backend motion.  I can see the Zen Master working well for the tougher lane patterns and the shorter patterns where you need control.  High rev guys and 2 handers would also like the motion from the Zen Master as it shouldn't over bounce off the dry.

If you wanted a stronger zen you got it with this ball for sure!!!!!  I drilled this one 45X4X40 and WOW!!!! I was able to play about 12 to 5 with it and just move left and never lost the power to the pocket at all in league..  throwing it on challenge patterns or sport shots with longer oil 42-45FT was and still is first ball out the bag the ball is smooth and strong!!!! And plays amazing compliment to the original Zen...  From the lower rev bowler that needs a little more in the back ends in league to the high rev speed dominate bowler who needs it to make that turn and toss those pins around the Zen master has a place in everyone's bag for sure

No one can deny that the Zen was one of the greatest releases from any company this past year. Everyone was throwing it across the board. What can compete with the Zen??? The Zen Master that came out is so strong from 900 Global but still has the Zen shape. Now bowlers that fell in love with the Zen still can have the same shape/feel when on heavier patterns. Zen Master is the one ball that can

900 Global  Zen Master - layout: 65 x 5 x 25 - 1500 grit sanded
Ball test conditions: Practiced on 44ft THS on SPL and 46ft THS on older HPL
Looking to replace a piece I feel I have been missing with the OG Idol was removed from the current line, I was excited to hear that the Global Zen Master was going to be released… So, to do a real good comparison, I drilled it to my most favorite Idol layout I used in the past. 65 x 5 x 25. For me, it looks like a over the label drilling with a delayed pin. The colors match very well on the ball, a little phasing even helps it I think, able to see the ball change motion better than the one color solids like the OG Roto Grip Idol. Was a little early on reading the patterns until the ball took on the lane shine, which I guess I could have taken up to fresh 4000, but I rather see how the ball changes as the lane shine on the cover takes on the change patterns as I use it. A little earlier off of the pattern and earlier into hook part of the motion, but still retain energy in the roll phase in the back end of the pattern and dry part of the lanes. Even using in the drier part of both patterns with a hand position change to add a little more forward roll, the ball held its own and did not hook early and did not lose any energy because it still had a great overall look on the back end. If you are looking for the OG Idol replacement - this 900 Global Zen Master is for YOU!

Zen Master Ball Review

Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the 900 Global Zen Master and in 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the S77 Solid coverstock and comes at 3000-grit polish with an RG of 2.49, Diff of .051 with a layout of 5 X 3 1/8 X 2 5/8

Do you struggle on heavy or longer oil patterns? Well, the Zen Master is your ball of choice. This symmetrical heavy rolling ball has bailed me out of some tight patterns. I have found this ball to be good at digging into the lane and after a game or, so I was able to migrate to the left without the ball burning up. I have been able to stay in this ball for a few games before having to ball down due to the friction that has developed down lane. A good choice staying in the 900 Global line would be a shiny Zen or even the new Wolverine which is currently the only ball in the 700 series as of the time of me writing this review.

With the popularity of the original Zen when I saw 900 Global was releasing the Zen Master I wanted to see how a solid version of this ball would react. I liked the stronger earlier roll of the original Axiom and wondered if this would be a good replacement for it in my arsenal and if it would be similar in overall reaction. When I compare the ball motion of both bowling balls on the house shots in my area this ball is just as early as the Axiom and with the out of box finish was just as slow when the ball would reach the dry at the end of the pattern. But as I rolled the ball more and more the cover would shine up and the ball became cleaner in the front of the lane, began to store more energy and read a little quicker off the dry.

This was the last ball I drilled before we checked my PAP for future drillings. My PAP did change so the original layout of with a 4 ½ pin became a 3 ⅞ pin placement making this stronger symmetrical piece that flares more and rolls earlier for me. Instead of using this ball on house shots this ball gives me the option of a strong symmetrical ball for shorter sport patterns.

Another great addition coming to the Zen Line from 900 Global! Introducing the all new Zen Master. The Zen Master is a solid version of the original Zen. Solid coverstock with the same core and this thing packs a punch. The Zen Master I have found absolutely amazing on flatter patterns and shorter patterns because of how controllable the shape this ball creates. This ball really sigs in the oil and for how strong the coverstock is, this ball has no problem still continuing and getting the corners out.
I defiantly see myself using this ball on a lot of tournament conditions on the fresh when I need to control the lane and the backends to start. From top to bottom, the SPI brand is making some amazing pieces and filling holes in my bag. I never go to a tournament missing a ball because of all of the amazing options we have from all the brands.
If you don’t have a Zen Master by now, I have no clue what you’re waiting for. You probably see your competition striking a lot throwing this ball; so get yours at your local Storm VIP Pro Shop now!

Zen Master is a heavy hitter!

Bowlers Info: RH tweener, PAP 4-1/2 x 7/8 up, 365 RPM, 17* of Axis tilt, 60* of Axis Rotation

Ball Layout: 50 x 4.25 x 45

Finish: OOB with light 1500-grit polish

The super popular Zen now has a heavy oil companion in the Zen Master.  If you’ve been needing a ball with teeth and power, look no further.  This ball is made for long or heavy patterns, it is one of the biggest pieces in my arsenal.  I don’t see heavy oiled patterns that often, so I decided to experiment and added a light amount of 1500-grit polish so that it would mimic lane shine and retain energy for me to play on more medium – medium-heavy patterns.  This turned out fantastic as my opening game ball for my league!  This ball is a heavy rolling piece that shreds racks!  Earlier than my Phaze 2, Reality and Idol pieces that I can use early in league and tournament play before transition kicks in as I couldn’t move too far left with this one due to my lower speed.  If you’re a lower rev player or a speed dominant player, this one will definitely fit in your arsenal!

With all the rave with the introduction of the original zen i couldnt wait to get my hands on the new Zen Master. This Ball is definitely living up to the hype of the zen name. This ball digs into the oiler and doesn't quit down lane. This is a perfect ball for when the original zen is just not enough to start the night off. If you have the Zen, The zen Master will be a no brainer top put in your bag. This will definitely be the best 1,2 punch of the 2021 season. Don't sleep on this piece you won't be sorry for picking up one of these gems!

Adding to the widely loved Zen series we have the Zen Master. Since they announcement of this ball I think many people have been excited to get it on the rack. It does not disappoint that's one thing I can say.
When first throwing the Master I was very pleased with how it read the midland, and had power coming off the spot. It been great for me on the fresh as my house shot has a little bit higher volume, it handles the oil great.
The Zen Master is going to be a killer on sport shots where I need a ball to blend out a tough pattern or reverse block.
Also found that this ball responds very well to service adjustments to get that perfect shape your looking for.
