The Menace Tour is designed when control of the lane is a premium. The ball
works well on over-reacting wet-dry lane conditions, track shots and when
getting to the pocket is a challenge. The ball features a multi-density
outer core with an AMF CeramaSlam inner core. The specifications are: Core:
Multi-density CeramaSlam; Coverstock: Superflex; RG: 2.530; Flare: 4"
(differential .030); Hook: 18; Backend: 16; Finish: 1000 wet-sand sheen;
Durometer: 76-78; Weights: 15-16 lbs.; Color: Menace Blue with red logo
fill.

When we first got our Menace tour, the first thing we noticed was that the picture of the ball's core (on the drill sheet) looked like a Columbia Pulse core.  After researching this we found that that is exactly what it is suposed to be.  The Pulse was a very popular ball in our area, so we looked forward to seeing the Tour Menace perform.  We are happy to report that this ball does, in fact behave much like the Pulse.  We drilled the first Tour Menace label, with the pin 5 1/2" from the p.a.p. and the c.g at the center of the grip.  The shell was sanded to 600 grit and polished with Finesse.  This layout and shell prep gave us good length with a smooth, consistant arcing move and excellent carry.  As we expected, the ball did not flare very much, about two to three inches is all we could get from it.  As with the old Pulse, the only disclaimer with this ball is it's difficulty getting through dry heads.  Although alot of people drilled the Pulse thinking that because it was so controlable, it would be good on dry lanes, it really wasn't.  The Tour Menace is like the Pulse in that way, it is control all the way, but on dry heads there are better choices.  We tested this tour model with a few different surface preparations and were impressed with the coverstock's versatility, one thing never changed, regardless of the shell we never lost control of the break point.  We also found this ball to be especially good on walled conditions.  If you had and loved a Red Pulse this ball is for you.

I have this ball drilled withthe pin under the fingers, CG stacked right below it.  The ball flares maybe an inch tops.  Ball rolls real well, nice and heavy.  It does everything a non-flaring ball should.  I shined mine up with Black Magic and use it in high polished conditioned.

Great ball for weirdo lane conditions, dry walls, and any time when you just would be happy to hit the pocket and take your chances with carry.  Did I mention the ball carries well?  Ball can also be dulled and used when more control is needed in the backend and more oil is up front.

I threw the Tour Menace with the pin above the ring finger, an extra hole, and a lot of shine. This is the first AMF ball that I really like. It is extremely controlable and gets down the lane and makes a very gradual, smooth move to the pocket. No sharp, hard to read move. It also carries very well. A perfect tournament ball. A ball that can get to the pocket on just about anything you can put on the lanes. It is definitely a ball that I wish I had gotten a long time ago. The Tour Menace is a true winner for anybody.
