The Night Hawk Menace Pearl features the same PowerRing technology that made the Night Hawk line famous with its combination of control, forgiveness and power. The ball also features AMF's new SPT G-4 Pearl coverstock that provides 8-10' additional length when lanes break down. The ball is significantly different than the original models and is a piece of equipment that will fit into your AMF arsenal. The ball features a dual shell, multi-piece core design giving this ball a medium low RG (2.52) and 6" flare potential (.045). The coverstock is SPT G-4 Pearl Reactive which helps give this Pearl a hook rating of 19 and backend of 18. The ball comes in Blue Pearl with yellow logo fill and is out of the box at 1000 compound finish. The D-Durometer reading is 76-78 hardness. The ball is available in 12, 14-16 lbs.

This is a great ball by AMF, it pushes to the right with ease and has more punch on the backend than anything I have throw so far. On a house shot it is the perfect ball for wet dry conditions and still hooks plenty if you want to swing it from 20 out.

The Pearl complements the other NightHawk series balls well since the reaction is distinctively different from the SPT and the original Menace.  The  Pearl gives you more length than the Menace without sacrificing the backend clout.

This ball is ideal for the medium dry to dry conditions.  The crankers will love this ball on  more varied conditions since it is definitely not squirty and has the comeback power after it makes its move from the breakpoint.  The strokers will enjoy the straight up skid and the consistent reaction on the backend.  It is very predictable.

If you prefer AMF equipment and want an arsenal for any condition, then you need to have this Pearl along with the Menace, SPT, and a Dick Weber five star series polyester ball for the spare ball.  Now you're ready!

We found the Menace pearl to be a ball that reacted earlier and a bit sharper than the m2.  The ball we layed out was a pin on the grip line (approx 6" from p.a.p.) with a 1500 wet sand and finesse polish.The m2 and the pearl menace were drilled and polished the same for the purposes of comparison.  On most of the medium conditions (oil was not an option) the pearl menace was stronger than the m2 by an average of 5 to 7 boards.  On dryer conditions the pearl was too much, too soon and required the bowler to force it a bit to keep it on line.  The pearl menace appears to be more usefull anytime there is no sudden change from oil to dry anywhere on the lane.  Definitly a good ball, perhaps a bit more condition specific than some others but it will keep you stiking for days once you are lined up.

This is one of the few particle balls that actually clears the heads without grabbing early.  The first one I drilled had the pin at 12 and the mass bias 1 inch to the left of my thumb.  This ball was polished up, and i can honestly say this ball reminded me more of a resin reaction, although it wasn't as violent on the dry. Very impressed with the reaction. I then drilled another pearl menace out of the box surface.  This ball i left the pin above the ring finger and the mass bias about 3 inches from my thumb. I also needed an extra hole on the PAP.  This ball had a much smoother transition from wet to dry. This ball tends to work better when the lanes had a decent amount of oil. The 2 balls gave a 1,2 punch when the lanes were oiled and when they began to break down. This is also and excellent carrying ball.

I really like this ball.  It hasn't sold real well in my area.  I think this is a great ball to recommend to players with a stronger hand release, or bowlers seeking more control than their other pearl "actives" are giving them.  This is a very underrated ball and it is an excellent product from AMF.  I personally like to go to this ball when i need more flow through the fronts and still want something to be a little more tame than my El Nino 2000, my favorite AMF product since the Blue Ninja.

Starting specs:  16 pounds, 2 inch pin, 2.5 ounces top weight
Drilled stacked leverage, no weight hole needed
Static weights:  1/2 ounce positive side and 1/2 ounce finger
This ball makes the sharpest turn to the pocket that I have ever seen.  It glides easily through the heads and midlane, and when it hits the backends it makes a monster left turn sending pins flying everywhere.  It does not like a lot of oil, especially carry down, but on a fresh shot with good back ends, it is just awesome.  I have also had pretty good luck with this ball on dry conditions, but I have to get the speed up around 19 to 20 mph to keep it on line.  Carry is typically very good (lots of messengers), except for the occasional pocket 7 - 10 if I swing it too wide or don't get good hand in it.  All in all, this is a very good ball for medium to medium dry conditions.
