The Ti-Hawk features a smaller, higher revving Titanium core and a Mica
enhanced Super Flex Reactive cover stock. It has a low Radius of Gyration
and a higher spin rate to pick up earlier with stronger mid-lane
performance. The density of the Titanium core creates a higher Coefficient
of Restitution, resulting in a powerful distribution of collision and energy and greater carry. The ball is designed to work as an affordable compliment to the Hawk to improve any bowler's arsenal. For the first-time user of a high performance ball, the Ti-Hawk delivers versatile strength and excitement at a lower price. For the experienced, high performance bowler, the Ti-Hawk offers the opportunity to add to their arsenal for less expense than expected. The specifications are: Core: Multi Piece Titanium; Cover stock: Super-Flex with Mica; RG: 2.572; Flare Potential: 6" (differential .048); Hook: 8.5 BTM; Length: 5 BTM; Finish: 1000 wet sanded; Weights: 12, 14-16 lbs.; Color: Dark Purple with yellow logo fill.

Left my TiHawk with the factory finish of 1000 grit sandpaper. Drilled it using a 5x3 drill pattern with a hole on my PAP.  I finally have a ball that I can create area with on an extreme wet-dry shot. This ball give me a hard roll in the oil and if i missed to the dry, the ball just set up and held the pocket. I have tried several other balls on this shot including the Monster, Reaper, Reactive Flame, Mica Beast and even a White Dot up the gutter, but this ball by far gave me the best performance, my first night i bowled 715 and had a 290 the last game.

For the TI-HAWK's versatility and price, there is no ball on the current market that can compete with this ball.  Its out of the box condition may be too much ball for the strong hand but its coverstock is easily tweakable to be shined up for the added length.  In fact, if you're building your arsenal to confront the wet and dry conditions, this would be an excellent ball to buy to keep one dull and the other polished without getting a bank loan.

I have enjoyed the TI-HAWK (shined up)when I go inside (3rd/4th arrow for a lefty--ME) and have it come back to the pocket with a vengeance!!!

Thanks to Bill Monce from AMF for his support. Bill is one of the finest Reps I know and a asset to his company. The Ti-Hawk is a PURE FUN BALL. I have never in my 16 years of drilling, brought in a ball any quicker to sell in my shops than was the case here with the Ti-Hawk. I drilled this ball on Saturday, threw it Sunday and had it on my shelf on Tuesday. You literally cannot get anymore reaction out of a Ball for the money than you can here. 1st you get A Columbia Enhanced Super-Flex Reactive Coverstock that is lightly sanded with a modified Revenge Core with a Titanium nugget placed at the bottom of the core. This ball has a fairly early breakpoint, YES it hooks and rev's up quick, but still gets through the heads ok. But picks up tremendous roll in the middle and a strong arcing backend. The most BANG for the Buck I've thrown. I would rank the hook similar to a dull particle ball with a little better than normal particle ball length. I would only drill this ball Leverage Weight for the stroker that has high ball speed. It is literally that strong. Nice looking Purple Pearl Dull Reactive. AMF Proves here that they produce a $200.00 ball Performance for around $140-$160. Thank you to Bill Monce from AMF and enjoy your Ti-Hawk.

This is the best midprice ball on the market today.  This ball proved too much for me on the house condition.  I applied a little Black Magic and just absolutley overpowered the lane if this ball doesn't burn up it hits the pins as hard as anythin I have ever thrown

I love this Ball!!! No matter where you throw it, the ball never quits.  I throw it over boards 18 to 10 and she still goes far and hooks very strong.  I have even had it hook from board two and three.  It outhooks anything I have ever thrown. Last week I threw the first eight in a row theball is very consitant. Lots of hook for the money.  It is a very good bargain.  Do not overlook this ball to add to your arsenal.

I watched this ball this weekend at a tournament.  The lanes were on fire.  Dry everywhere you went.

The Ti-Hawk was able to get down the lanes on this lane condition.  The ball started its breakpoint at about 45 feet and made a strong hard reaction to the pocket.  When a lot of the field was throwing plastic, and urethane, this ball was still finding a way to get down the lane.

This ball was drilled with the pin under the fingers and CG kick out just a hair.  The ball had a little bit of polished on it.

I was amazed by how well this ball was able to get down the lane throughout the 5 game block that we bowled.  I was having problems getting my straightest resin down the lane, and this ball was having no problem.

AMF Ti Hawk

Bowler Style: Cranker (Med spd, high rev)
Lane: 35ft oil (single oil) buff back

This is a great dry lane ball that will suit most bowling style.
You get plenty of skid out of this ball out of the box and its great when the lanes are drying up.
Easy to control and has enough hitting power to take out the 10 pin.

You will need a ball like this to handle those bad conditions on certain days.
Either that, or a AMF Hawk, or a columbia scout reactive. The low end reactive balls, the Ti Hawk is the best.

  Cheers

Great Medium Dry to Dry Lane Ball

Style: Righty, Tweener, average revs and speed.

Beginning specs: 4 inch pin and 3.25 ounces top.

Drilled mine with the pin at 100 to my fingers and the cg in my palm.  I hit it with a 1000 grit sanding and then shined it up with Ebonite's Factory Finish Polish.  This is a very strong drill for a "flippy" ball.  on my first ball I was amazed at the amount of flare I got.... 7 inches.  I was floored with that because it is not an extremely strong ball by my standards.  but it can hold its on and has earned a spot in my "In The Center" bag (the balls that I take in with me to any center).  I tried it on a fresh shot...had to really hit it...but was not very strong for that...but it did get back to the pocket (barely).  I then tried it during the 2nd game of league, so just a tad bit of the heads are gone and there are signs of carry down.  This ball worked perfect for that.  I was having a hard time deciding whether to use this ball or my Vortex Afterburner.  But great ball for the price...and everyone can find some good use for it.  It is my first AMF and I am extremely impressed.

Hello.

Right Hander.
Medium Revs.
Medium Speed.

This ball is drilled with pin just above and a little to the right of the ring finger and the cg out slightly from the palm.

For me, this is a great Dry lane ball. It doesn't overreact and is very forgiving. I usually strike when I'm in the half pocket with this ball. For me, it goes a little longer than my Eraser and hits as hard. From now on, I think I'll be using this ball as my dry lane ball. It should do a good job of it.

Here's another winner from the Del Warren era at AMF.

About me -

Right-handed
ball speed 17-18 mph
above average revs

Drilled mine 4 1/2 pin by 3 cg (10:30 layout) with weight hole on PAP.  I can use on league condition the last 2 or 3 games of a 4 game set.  The house is synthetic with strong backends. I have control from the dry boards while maintaining carry.  Ball has great midlane revs/roll without burning out.  There are balls that go long but don't carry and there are balls that rev up early and quit.  This one does the right thing when you need it.

This ball has been discontinued by AMF and can probably be picked up at a great price.  A definite keeper!

p.s. Threw the first 9 in game 4 of league first night out!

Medium Medium
Medium.

This is the condition this ball is made for.

This ball with a 2 - 3 pin is drilled stacked right on top of another lefty's drilling.  About a 4 X 4. Small Weighthole on the PAP.  Sanded to 1000 and hit with a light coat of Black Magic.

First thought is this is very similar to Ebonite's stinger 2 piece talked about on the Forums by Louie.  Later than a Vortex 2 or an Angle Evolution or original Nitehawk REactive this ball goes also a touch earlier than a Hawk or Hextreme.

Pretty straight thru the heads with moderate midlane this ball will go staight on a long pattern or can be played moderately inside on a shorter pattern.

Think a Ti Messenger type hit with maybe less jump from the coverstock but just as much hit!  If they had put some colors on this baby it would have really caught some attention and sales.

If dry boards are found on the back this thing can develop some pretty good angle from a moderate inside angle.

Medium oil conditions, medium midlane, medium quickness of move(good controlabitlity, excellant hit!

One of the best in the class with the Voodoo, Ti Messenger and Stinger.

Dullest asthetics EVER!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I had one drilled 3 3/8 X 2 and it did not really deliver the bacon(drillings which had worked for me with other equipment)  It seems this ball wants very standard drillings!  Stacked or label will not make it too jumpy.
Of course I was not clearing 3 3/8 X 2 very well so I may rereport with a cleaner release!

Just had a good experience with this ball,

Had been only able to use it the backends were a little dryer(practice).
My league is so sloppy at back.

Went to a proam after a PBA regional practice session.
Pattern was their typical sort of flat and around 37 feet according to one of the pros.

I had been in a ladies proam several weeks before and made a fool out of myself by only having high flare equipment(what had been working in the house on the house shot and machines)).  Not enough room to accomodate my hook on OB 10 and big backend pattern.

One of our local A____holes watched me as I warmed up using my strong hooking league equipment.  Near gutter, to the right(too much hook), another near gutter, another near gutter!  Comments each time, Oh big tournament winner, you're not so good on the pro shot are you!

OK, brought the softer smoother reacting TiHawk just for this.  (Usually stand 16 to 22 with this thing)  Start brooklyn strike and finally end up standing 29 throwing 15 out to 11 with aggressiveness to the breakpoint.  3 bagger to finish the practice and then a real 6 bagger to start.  End up throwing 257 actual game as all strikes are real except one.

Comments from above friend changed to "anyone want autograghs".  Around me some of our young YABA stars were throwing brooklyns and 140 no tap games and hanging their heads.  I felt their pain from previous pro am.

Extreme(no buff) conditions bring out the dirrerences between balls.

This ball reminds me of my beloved red sledgehammer.  Smooth transition, controllable on an extreme breakpoint. Big hit and a little more anglularity but it is drilled 4 X 4 with wiehthole on PAP vs 3 3/8 X 1 on sledgehammer.

Recently I said to previous owner of ball.  Aren't you sad you sold me this ball.  He grabs and throws on sloppy house condition.  Big ringing 7 pin!
"NO"!

Don't do anything exotic on drilling this ball, you'll take the pop out of the moderate power core.  This ball is going to be a great piece for me on world team challenge shots and shorter PBA conditions.

If you want more power label leverage it!  Or add a stronger than PAP hole weighthole.

REgards,

Luckylefty
