Nighthawk Revenge
« on: December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM »
The Night Hawk Revenge is designed to be a versatile piece of equipment for a variety of styles and conditions. The Revenge features AMF's new Medium RG (2.584) High Torque core that provides the bowler with more length and stronger backend characteristics. AMF's new Super Particle Technology III pearlized coverstock is more aggressive than mica, which helps eliminate the "squirt" that is associated with most pearl shells. The Revenge will provide better carry and more area when the bowler is looking for a ball to get around the corner after the lanes have gone through a transition.

The specifications of the Revenge are: Core: Dual Torque Block multi piece design; Coverstock: SPT III; RG: 2.584; Flare: 6" (differential .048); Hook: 23; Backend: 21; Finish: 800 sheen; Durometer: 76-78; Weights: 12, 14-16 lbs.; Color: Revenge Green Pearl with gold logo fill.

OKOK I have three drilled now and have used them for a few month...NEW Perspective
1. Pin 4-6" Drilled: Stacked label w/ 1/2 thumb, 1/2 oz pos
2. Pin 2-3" Drilled: Stacked Leverage w/ 1/2 oz pos
3. Pin 2-3" Drilled: Rev Leverage w/ 1/2 oz neg

General overview, hits ok not a real pin splatterer except on occasions
I had them dull, polished and waxed. Final surface: polished
Carry is decent not as great as I first thought
No. 1 Had the best overall reaction, but the worst carry, soft corners abound
No. 2. Goes long and flips pretty hard, I need a super easy condition to use it on.  haven't had a real easy condition lately, so this ball had been in the closet collecting dust.  I also have alot of other better balls for easy conditions.
No. 3. Almost a urethane or Columbia Pulse time reaction but earlier and rounder.  Lately, the conditions I had experienced had been very oily for 50' and very late flip, made for hard ball control, this ball is my salvation for this condition, very easy read and control of the pocket "in this condition" I think a lower rg particle ball drilled rev lev would be better though, but I am on a limited budget and at least until after the Las Vegas High Roller this will be my oil ball.

If you have read up to hear, then I have not bore you to sleep...comment: If I had a million dollars...I'd be rich!

I've had this ball for about two months now.  Drilled 1 1/2 x 2 with a weighthole on the PAP to take back to 1/8th negative weight.  I drilled this ball with the intent to have an early even roll without much jerk on the backend and this is exactly what it does.  For some reason my style doesn't get along with high-medium differential equiment at all unless its drilled axis weighted or something extreme like a 5 x 0 to stop it from going crazy on the backend.  Yet the Revenge enables me to square up on tougher shots that require precision or to even play a comfortable swing shot on walled up shots and extreme wet drys since the ball provides me with the same read every time.

This drilling doesn't necessarily hook/stop but it does scribe a small arc on the lane and in the case of extreme outsides or backend it will square up with the hook and still continue a bit.

Last weekend I bowled a tournament on a sport shot with flying backends and this was the only ball I had with me that I could play my comfort zone with and make little hand adjustments to keep me in there.  Too bad I executed extremely poorly in the first half of the tournament or else myself and my team would have finished much better.

Other than that this is a great ball from AMF and almost everyone I've seen use one has loved it, I know mine is the first ball out of my bag anywhere, not to mention its one of the best finishing balls I have ever used.

hi everyone.

am looking for some advise on my night hawk revenge.  the night hawk that i own is 8 years old i think. to be straight to the point, it is not finishing. i want to use this ball for medium lane conditions.  the track of where the ball rolls is sanded which i think is making it roll out. but wen i throw the ball it rolls and doesn't seem to move.

can anyone help me in getting my snap back!!

thanks to any help.

Man... i have one of these... and i can tell you.. this ball is the most rare coverstock of all my gear, because i put some shine with track magic polish and belive me.. it retains the shine about 5-6 months!! without loosing it...
and never stop hitting like a champ-ball.

may be you should try it....

something happend similar to me but with the night hawk torque pearl..
after 5 times of maintenance, light sanding and polishing....
the ball is really "dead", became the best option por the ten pin....
maybe this particle balls have to be trated with special care than other balls..

best regards!!
