OMG and Black Mamba
« on: April 08, 2012, 07:53:05 PM »
Gonna drill up my OMG and Black Mamba this week. Have an OMG with a 4" pin and BM with 2 3/4 pin.  Just trying to drill them to compliment each other when the OMG is to strong. I would like to drill the OMG pin above, middle of bridge to open up the lanes. Just looking for some input on the Mamba.

Specs in profile. Generally see oil (medium to heavy,Kegel and  modified conditions)

This what ended up with. both balls polished with Valentino's Snake Oil. At first try subbing in my old Monday league the Mamba was in oob and hit like a wet noodle. Soft 10 after soft 10 the first 6 frames, then  finished the game with the OMG for 193. Last 2 w/OMG 261,245. Will use the Mamba next time now that its polished. Both balls very strong for me and looking forward to the challenging patterns. Pic posted.

OMG used for long patterns when I need a predictable reaction without giving away the 3 pin. Surface adjusted to 500 abralon
Black Mamba used primarily on the fresh playing the track. With my release, not a ball I can swing and had to polish with Snake Oil to retain energy and reduced the glare from the ball down lane. Carry was exceptional on the Kegel Athens pattern.

I tried the Black Mamba and OMG during a demo day and for me, the Black Mamba was too much too early.  For me it hit weak also due to rolling out.  The OMB was a better ball match for my rev rate and the THS pattern that was laid out.

I can see the Black Mamba being good for flatter conditions where you need to play straighter angles up front, but I wouldn't use it for anything else.

True.. I like the Black Mamba when the pattern dictates a straighter trajectory. The OMG is a beast from an inside angle...
