AMF NIGHT HAWK SPT
« on: March 03, 2004, 06:26:46 PM »
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Night Hawk. I've got a 14# sanded, and get 9's all night long. It'll leave a solid 10 most of the time. just wondering if it's because of being a 14#er or what?

I had one, had friends that did great with it!

I did not.  I compared it to the Brunswick Pro Zone Violet and I could not get it too perform even close.

Subsequently I got a Spell from Track.  Same Core, but a slightly different coverstock.  It is a great smooth push ball with great backend!  When it hits the pocket(when right) it shudders the rafters!!!!

However, before getting rid of it I'd try polish or dulling(depending on your condition).  THe spell seems more polished and my friends that did well with it used it polished!

Lucky and Drrev,

Our author has a 134 average, so I truly doubt he is leaving 8 pins "all night long". I'm afraid your advice is quite wasted.

Absolutely bizarre why kids like he is wasting money playign with balls and not just practicing spares which would easily take him into 180-190 average. I doubt if he has taken anyone's advice in a long while.

I just wanted to thank LuckyLefty and Drrev17 for their help on this ball. Being that my ball is sanded, it tends to burn up pretty quick on the lane, also, I bought this ball from a PBA regional bowler off of Ebay, I had my driller look at it and he found out it has been drilled negative. so the weight works against the ball. so that has answered my questions that I had of it not having alot of carry. as for charlest, don't waste my time making comments about me when you have no clue about me or my game other than my profile. most everybody on this site wants to help fellow bowlers and if you don't have anything of value to say, then go bother some kid on this site that might think your comments are cute. all the help I've had from here has been of help, and thanks again to all that have taken time to do so.

What a shame! and now, with his 134 average (stated in his own profile) , he is also posting ball reviews. Sigh ....

Fatboy,

If no one has suggested that you might be best served by getting a good local coach and spending your money on practicing what he or she suggests, rather than buying new balls, I am doing that now. Not that you'd take any advice here on something that would actually serve you well, as opposed to new toys that will not help you learn the "sport" of bowling.

The last time I checked, this site is called: ballreviews.com. Not 300 bowlers.com, or scratch bowlers.com, that's why anyone can post a ball review, nobody has to take their advice on it, it's just for reference, that's why charlest's comments seem out of line. I have enough experience to tell if a ball works for me, and how it works for me, and can share that with someone with a similar game. So, I rest my case on this matter, I've got alot of advice, tips, and other helpful things from this site, it's members, and reviews. By the way, I have our pro shop guy helping me (coaching if you will), which carrys a high 200+ average, but I also like to have a second opinion every once in awhile, and that's what I get here. thanks again from Fatboy to all those who cut a guy a break and help out.

Of course not. Lighten up and help us new bowlers so we don't get discouraged and give up its hard enough to learn to bowl well and rather intimating with everyone judging everying think you do or say.

This IS entirely about real and HONEST advice. The forum is about using equipment and techniques to become better bowlers.
Sorry; I thought you were serious about bowling and wanted to improve. If you just want to play in a sand box, then tell us and we won't offer real advice. My advice stands: you want to be a bowler, practice; if you want to play with balls, play. Next time let us know you're not talking about bowling.
