Radar Lock....getting fired up

I showed the Radar Lock I have to one of the top bowlers in our house the other day....he WAS impressed.

This with me throwing at about 11mph to 12mph as I am waiting for my Switch grip inner sleeve to arrive for this traded ball!

This ball to our eyes looks like it is an Action with backend.  Tons of midlane...with a wonderful move off the spot.  I can't wait to throw it my full speed next week!

He also said....I'eve seen that Radar Alert and that is fine! piece too!

Since the Awesome Revs from Morich is already my favorite piece on this wood THS I'm sure if I get that one off Ebay I will not be real unhappy if I added that one too!

PS it just seemed like this ball....got LOST in the shuffle...all these great Radars(by the way guy above owns the CODE and LOVES it!)

I have the Radar Lock and love it.  Ball was a 2nd (due to the logo being white instead of red and green) with a 5" pin.  Drilled it up pin over bridge, 4-1/2" above midline with the CG near the thumb, low weighthole and box finish.  With this layout, ball gets a lot of natural length and strong backend.

I like it so much, I just won a used one off of ebay for only $31 shipped.  I'll keep the same layout (pin next to ring, CG stacked below, weighthole), just change to fit my span.  I would like to have one that picks up in the midlane.

Lucky, you should consider the Code.  I have it, and it is one of my favorites.  Great midlane read and very strong on the backend.  I'll be getting the Nkryption Code soon.

Have you had a chance to throw the Radar Lock yet?  Did you get the midlane you were looking for?>

Almost hesitant to post....note that I am trying a naked fingerholes grip with different pitches so the experiment is not or controlled so to speak.

As a matter of a fact quite the contrary.  The ball is too straight and has a mostly backend flavor the way I have setup.  I have been throwing faster than usual also....

Still have experiments going on regarding the grip and putting the same grip with some tweaks I think the grip needs in another ball in the series today!

Will get back.  Note this Radar is the most highly polished ball I have and this center tested on....is quite wet....I have another center in mind!!

Will post on the update with a more midlane drilling(Lock above is pin above)...stronger cover and tweaked grip....

Now that I'm throwing faster on our heavily oiled shot....my highly polished lock has NO midlane!  Shot is unusually wet due to recent oil refinishing

Well, now I am throwing the Lock and the Alert on my home house.

Alert pin down 4 1/2 X 3 1/2.....like it!
Lock pin up 4 3/4 X 3 1/2....too long for current wetter than normal oil pattern....by a lot!

What are out of box finish on Lock and orignal radar.....I see on description...polished!  Underlying sanding grit and polish used?

I think the box finish on the Radar Lock is 600 grit and 2000 degree polish.  I have mine finished with Valentino's Resurrection and a heavy dose of Snake Oil.  With this surface and a pin up layout, I get a skid/snap reaction, which is what I was looking for.

I love my alert on our wet sloppy shot.  In its out of the box 1000 surface it seems to want to stay square in a way to the pocket!  Lots of very flush strikes....I'm comparing to my polished to 2000 Awesome revs and it is really lookin great on this slop!

At this time I'm lovin the Alert and converting my Radar lock to the 600 with the 2000 degree polish!  Just like my Panic which is lookin pretty good on this shot!

What layout do you have on the Alert?  I just had mine drilled up with the pin slightly above and right of the ring finger with the CG kicked back towards grip center.  Only got to throw it for a few frames to make sure the thumb fit properly, and it was a leftover shot from league the night before.  With this layout, the ball rolled early, even and never stopped on the backend.  Can't wait to try it out on a fresh shot with heavier oil.
