Title: Clutch Mini
Post by: golfnutFL on August 10, 2009, 03:53:59 PM
Used it for 2 games tonight in the summer men's league. This ball is as strong as any other ball on the market on a fresh oil shot (think Rogue Cell, Virtual Gravity, Dynamo) with a strong (strong!) hard arc to the pocket. I shot 297 (big choke) first game and 204 2nd game. I should have put it away after 15 frames, the lanes were breaking down quick, but I wanted to see how deep I could play with the ball. I had 15 out of 16 strikes before I reached a point where I was coming in from too deep (for me) and left a couple of splits. Amazing ball for the price, I can't believe how much backend energy this thing has. This ball will be great in the fall when the oil doesn't break down as quickly.

So it's really about as strong as a Break Point or Bounty Hunter?  Both this and the Lunatic sound like pretty strong balls when compared to their hook ratings.  How did you drill this one?

Tekneek is right...surface management would be the only way to tame this puppy. OOB= One Very Strong Ball. Mine is drilled strong, stacked.

well it is at 4000 abralon OOB, there really isn't much surface managment you can do from there, other than add polish.

Threw the CLutch a little last night for the first time, shot was suppose to be a 35 foot flat with heavy units.  i was on it after 6 games prior, wow this ball started its motion at 30 feet!! your right surface management is gonna be key!! but all in all the ball looks kool
