Title: How about some Haugen support
Post by: newguy on February 06, 2008, 03:02:20 AM
Hey guys
PBA has a vote going on for a spot on the rolls to riches event. Please go to the PBA site and Vote for Mike, voting ends Friday. He deserves to be there, just on his gutzy performance in the TOC. Lets get him some respect.
Thanks
Phil

Don't you automatically get in for winning a major?

And yeah, I do know it all.. I don't spend 30+ hours a week learning more about bowling for my heatlh... I do it so I know more than all of you.. which I do. (besides the random few that are staffers/work in the bowling business.. which that population is decreasing little by little)

This year the R2R participants are decided by fan vote rather than majors like in the past.  They've been promoting it on the show, I know Doug Kent is in by virtue of being the defending champ and getting that vote.

this perplexes me also. Or did the cell phone companies endorse the PBA also and this is their payback?

Looks like according to pba.com haugen is already in...you were right Joe!

Motel 6 Roll to Riches Half Full
With Michael Haugen Jr. winning the H&R Block Tournament of Champions, the six-bowler field for the 2008 Motel 6 Roll to Riches is half-full. USBC Masters champion Sean Rash and Haugen will join the two other Major winners this season plus Doug Kent, who was voted in as the defending champion. The final competitor will be chosen by fans through a series of pods based on the PBA World Point Rankings (through the Motel 6 Dick Weber Open).

Bowlers have been placed in four pods with the winners of the four pods going into a final vote to determine the sixth bowler. Fans can log on to PBA.com this week to vote for the second pod between Patrick Allen, Chris Loschetter and Mike Wolfe (Haugen is also in the pod but already eligible for the event). The winner of last week’s pod which featured Brad Angelo, Rhino Page, Pete Weber and Walter Ray Williams Jr. will be announced during the live ESPN-televised championship round of this week’s Bayer Classic.

Not that it counted but wasn't that awsome to see that he actually won the vote with 37 percent of the votes.  Way to support him.
