Code
« on: March 01, 2009, 01:39:22 AM »
How strong is the Code. I am looking to add a weaker pearl to my arsenal and have a chance at a Code. Right now I have a Break s75, Power Swing, and Hot Sauce. I am going to add a Bash and Mega Friction when I get the money as well. Is the Code going to be significantly weaker than the Hot Sauce?? How clean through the front of the lane is a Code??

It is weaker but not even close to weak overall, if buying just because it is great ball probably too close to other balls you use though.

Thats what I kinda figured. I would be getting a good trade if I took it so I might justtake it and see if I can't trade it for something else...

For me the Code is smooth, predictable, benchmark ball.  Good bit weaker than the Break S-75, and I would guess (based upon what I've seen) that the Code doesn't go as long, though may cover almost as many boards as the Hot Sauce.  The Code gets through the heads fairly easy but starts up in the midlane and finishes with an arc to the pocket that's easy to read.

One of the best ball I own. Super predictable, takes a lot of guesswork out of tougher lane comditions, especially on the drier side. I'm not saying its a dry lane ball, bit I have killed with it on second shifts.

I agree with 30.  It is not a dry lane ball.  It is not weak.  But you can adjust very it easliy, and I have had alot of success on dry, and on second shift conditions.

the code is a good ball, but it doesn't cover anywhere near the boards the Hot Sauce covers lefty. I don't think it would be what your looking for with your arsenal tdub, the bash and the mega will probably complete your arsenal though.

Hmm..Lets see what I have in this bag...some magic, some hot sauce, and a saw.. how can I loose?

Weaker pearl? I don't think so.

I'm pretty sure the Code is a solid/pearl combination that acts more like a polished solid. From what I have seen of it, (A teammate had one and is getting another.) with normal drillings it is a true medium oil, benchmark sort of ball. It gets decent but not excessive length, has a moderate backend, and hits very hard. (My teammate had pins flying every which way with his Code. Forget why he traded it, but he just got a replacement. )

It is "weaker" than the Hot Sauce in that it will not have the backend of a true flippy pearl, like the Hot Sauce. It is NOT weaker than the Hot Sauce in that it should handle an equivalent amount of oil in a completely different manner, controlled vs flippy.

You couldn't have summed that up for me any better. This ball is the nuts.

I agree. I have bowled 3 league sessions with mine (12 games) and averaged over 250 for those 12 games.
