New AMF300 Titan-Mini Review
« on: August 11, 2004, 08:51:05 PM »
I drilled up an AMF Titan last night, and looking at the numbers i remembered the Storm Charge had similar numbers to it. This ball has alot of midlane roll. I layed the ball out 5 x 3 1/2 and didn't need an extra hole. ball has good pop in the backend and clears the heads well. rolls a little earlier than i expected. The low rg center heavy core really make this ball set up in the midlane and can play very well from the deep inside line.

Great Mid-price value.

The Power charge pearl. the Power charge pearl was indeed cleaner through the heads and had less midlane. i had both balls laid out the same. this is a tad bit stronger.

Agree - it's a great-looking ball, if indeed the ball actually looks like the artwork shown. (The original blue and gold Triumph artwork looked nothing like the photo of an actual ball I saw on Blockbusterbowling.com, so I wonder what the Titan will look like compared to the artwork.)
If the Titan rolls as good as it looks I will definitely have one of these drilled up this season!

Since blockbuster isn't stocking AMF anymore, or for the momment atleast.

The colors are this ball are quite good. nice mix of gold and silver. Really nice looking silver, but the gold is the same tone as the purefuel. Looks a little like a copper.

but i tried it on a slightly longer first shift condition and this ball was destroying it. i placed a balance hole in it and made the ball 1/2 oz negative, to reduce a bit of the midlane and increase the length just a tad.

I heard this was just an updated Pearl Pulse(stronger cover).  No Ceramic nugget though.  It has the same core body.  Should be an excellent ball.

They probaly made the core denser since there's no Ti-Nugget.  You make the core heavier, it becomes more dynamic.

The jekyll and this are nothing alike. I have thrown the jekyll and it went much much longer than this ball. this ball is much sooner off the dry than the jekyll ever would be. This is a better storm charge, less over skid, and handles moderate carrydown very well. and did i mention i love this ball?

Oh and i spent most of the weekend with dale(Pres) and mike(west coast sales manager) from AMF and they are really a great group that needs good exposure.

I'd love any ball that helped me throw 827!  Nice shooting.

Saw my pro shop owner throwing this ball today. I was pretty impressed with the mid lane move and it seemed to really work well as long as it has a decent amount of head oil. He was able to cover 30-5 and back with no problems...
