THE OTHER NIGHT HAWK PEARL VIDEO!!!
« on: October 11, 2007, 06:10:24 PM »
Yep, that's right...the NHP beat goes on!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rMgpXSdH8I

For me, the NHP is a strong-rolling, angular pearl, akin to, say, a TNV. It's definitely a surprise at this price point. I mean...on occasion, the backend potential and angularity just scares the crap out of me. A true winner from AMF, not to mention the Wild West boys, Tonto and the L.R.

Plus, it looks sweet! Not only will you beat your opponent with the NHP, you will be beat them while looking good...sexy, even...

great video.  lane 14 is always hard to carry in that house, i hated that pair. next time you film there you should take a glance over at the high score board to show everyone tonto knows how to bowl as well. lol

Ahh, Bar...that would be Staunton Lanes in VIRGINIA, not Texas. It's about a 30 minute trip from where I go to school (UVa). And while it's a pain to get there, it's well worth it, given the nature of the bowling alley nearest me.

On edit: That would be an 854.

Will do...lol, I have to drive through PA a lot, might bowl in Allentown for the Intercollegiate Singles next year (yes, they have one in Illinois, but I hate the alley and haven't had any luck there, even in high school tournaments)...I live in Chicago, just go to school out here in VA...

So it is about the same amount of ball as the TNV? I was thinking it might be less ball with a similar roll. I guess there isn't much point in getting one then. Unless I get it drilled a little weaker.

I have a pretty strong drilling on it...stronger than I normally use. I normally like 5 inch + pin-PAP distances, but I went 4-4.5...

The comparison to the TNV wasn't necessarily strength wise...it was in regards to how the ball rolls -- it has that really heavy roll, that is still pretty angular. For some, it might be as strong as the TNV. For some, it might not be.

In my experience, I have never seen the TNV be AS STRONG as people make it out to be. It's still a medium-heavy oil pearl, and is thusly subject to carrydown, etc...

Put a weaker drilling on the NHP, and you should have a nice step down from the TNV.
