Interesting. Since they kept black for the remake of the solid, I wonder why they didn't stay with the purple for the pearl? A little more copper and it would look like an original Eraser. I still have one M2 with 2 games on it that needs a plug and redrill (new span and pitches) and one NIB. I'd be tempted to get one of these new ones to see if there's any difference.
Do you know if this is supposed to be an exact remake of the M2 pearl, or did they "update" the cover/core?

I can't tell you guys anything regarding the exact coverstock (Phil can say whether it was updated, sorry, I don't have the info right this minute)...but I can tell you the NHP rolls great!
Decent length, with a strong, angular move (drilled 4.5 pin-PAP, 70 degree layout, 10 degree pin-PAP-line-VAL)...not true skid-flip...but almost there, great on medium volume patterns...the several inches of flare I get from the NHP somewhat tames the skid-flippiness...but also makes it a little more readable on a variety of conditions...definitely rolls like one of the "new" pearls...kinda like a sweet mix of 44 Mag and Horizon Pearl...
Plus, this bird has serious shelf appeal! And Bar is right...pictures don't do it justice...the blue is like a blue-purple mix, quite striking really...for a ball that in my hands...strikes a lot...
I'm sure you'll like it Bar...even if you ruined the fun in the other post!
On edit: Bo is right too...the NHP sure will surprise a few people, especially for a mid plus...

It looks very nice!
I don't see it on the USBC approved ball list. Is it considered the same as the Nighthawk?

It sure does. I knew there was something closer than the Eraser, but didn't remember what it was.

Same core as the original/remake...
-
From the Drill Instruction Sheet
Coverstock: Proven BASF Reactive (Assuming with pearl added?)
16# 15# 14#
RG 2.508 2.520 2.541
Diff 0.043 0.043 0.042
Core looks the same as the original...
Phil, Eric or BO could obviously confirm this...

See my post right before, Bar...it's the same core!

Numbers are the same, core is the same, cover is the same with pearl added. With the success we have seen we didnt want to divert from the course. Now everyone should be happy with a great 1-2 combo, we have given you the solid remake and a pearl version, next time we plan on getting more creative. I dont know exactly how yet because that core has been used quite a bit the last 10 years we will find a hole and fill it. For those of you wondering; its pending approval and should be listed any minute, actually should have been done on Monday. It is slated for release late this month.

As long as it isn't looking like a smokin inferno, I am ok with it!

I gotta agree. One of the things I like about LM's Sting, Buzz and Hornet line is that they one solid color and it's about performance not color but that's just me.
