i've heard rumors that say that this ball is just like the old columbia beast, a nice smooth transition ball, that has some hooking ability.

I've heard that the weightblock in this one is very similar to the track original heat.

Being as Columbia pours Track and A.M.F. ( and I think the heat original is out?) they may have brought the weightblock back in the A.M.F. line.  WOuldn't surprise me.  I was thinking I needed a lower flare, predictable ball and was considering this one pretty hard........

I'm planning on drilling one out tomorrow night to compliment some of my other equipment on my shorter sport shot pattern.  We'll see just how much this ball hooks in comparison...

Get the regular Orbit for the dry stuff, the Orbit Extreme is just a Track Triton Heat! A good medium to lighter oil ball!

"Just a Triton Heat" a lower mid price for the triton Heat is maybe the best deal on the planet. If anyone should know about the HEAT it's me.

So I guess the ball realizes it's old and does not perfrom any longer, the way to keep ball prices down and still offer a value is to use existing tooling and change to current coverstocks. This give good solid performance with a touch of new technology. That's what makes it a good deal. If you like new and exciting only, than high performance at high dollars is availbale for you.

I'm not positive on this, but I think the Triton Heat had a slightly different core in it. Definitely similar in shape, but i think the Heat somewhat of a nugget inside. Like I said, I'm not positive, that's just how I faintly remember it. I'll do some checking...

the above is in regards to the Heat remake, right...here's info on the original (better) Triton Heat:

lower RG than the remake, almost the same as the OX, higher diff. than both balls.
