Original Nighthawk
« on: March 08, 2004, 08:11:31 PM »
I need one!!  Does anyone have any good leads on a 15# with about a 2" pin?

AMF, if you are listening, re-release this ball exactly as it was, no changes at all!  LOL.....

One of the Track amature staffers nearby claims the Havoc is an exact copy of the black Nighthawk.  The cover seems a bit stronger to me, but I haven't thrown them side by side.

I know two houses that have nighthawks in their proshops or displays. Bowlerama in Rutland Vt. had one in their display case a while ago and Vince Bionni's Pro Shop in "The Bowlers Club" in Latham NY. You can find their numbers on-line through a search and check to see the specs they have. The Havoc is pretty much the same ball like strider said cover strength is a bit stronger but that was pretty much going to be a given due to the difference in years.

Del Warren says that they used the Nighthawk core, with minor changes in densities, and and up-to-date cover stock, to make the Havok!

I know this has nothing to do with the topic but I remember bowling in rutland when i lived in CT for a tourny about 3 years ago.  I had mono so I don't remember much of that trip other than the 90 MPH drive home to see a doctor after not sleeping or eating for 3 nights lol.  I remember attempting to eat at some nice steak house there though.

A pro-shop owner over here said that the AMF Scamp reminds him of the original Nighthawk - but at a lower price.
