dot on the approach

I ran across some lane the other day that had color dots on the approaches the 3 in the middle were red and the other 4 were green and yellow.  can anyone tell me a little history on this??

we have some in town where all the dots are different colors. orange, red, green, yellow, blue... I guess it's just for looks.

Thats nothing my lanes are a light purple color and the arrows are orange...

It is probably for the hip-hop cosmic bowling.  The wierd colors create a crazy color under the blck lighting.
