Picture of Changeling...
« on: March 02, 2005, 12:34:01 AM »
Here's a picture of my Bonanza II (Changeling), I bought from BeansProShop.
Color reminds me of my Columbia Trooper, which was urethane. This is reactive.
Looks like a Bully? Detour? Rule? Animal? Crunch Time? Is it an AMF core (Triumph)

Duke I don't think that is a changleing but I could be wrong however I understand the changlings are all superflex and triumph cores as you have said but they are also given a changling logo.  I think you just have a regular bonanza.  Did the box say changeling.  As I said I could be wrong.

All of the chageling's I have seen have been marked as such. They actually have an amf and changeling logo on them. That looks like a regular Bonanza blem to me..

JPRlane1,
Thanks for the link.
I guess it's a regular Bonanza blem...
Beans had put up a post that he was selling Changelings for $69.95 (incl. shipping).
I wanted another ball with a Triumph core...Any idea what type of core the ball would have?

Beans calls them changelings because they are a mixture of cores//coverstocks...

There is no way you will for sure know what core is on that ball, but its probably not a triumph core since the cover looks nothing like a triumph..

This is Beans description of the ball he is selling. I've dealt with him the past and found him to be very honest. If he claims it is a Changeling I would trust him. I don't think he invented a name for the balls.

You are bidding on a Brand New undrilled "TEST" AMF Changeling bowling ball. They all have Bonanza logos on them but are first quality. These are not your regular Bonanza blem balls. These balls are all ABC approved but there is no telling what color ball you will get. They are all high grade reactive and have the AMF triumph core in them and are not polyester. These have all been looked at to assure perfect specs. These balls will all contain between 1.75 and 4.50 oz top weight... They will also have between a 0-5.5" pin placement. Bid with confidence. These balls are all amazing colors. Here is a chance to get a great ball that is worth a hell of a lot more than $69.95... I do not have pictures or exact specs for these balls. This is a POT LUCK auction for 15 lb. TEST Balls.. These balls all have a Bonanza logo on them.JUST BID AND YOU WIN!!!

While I agree thats Beans is #1 just see my feedback for him rearding buzzsaws.  I know he has made slight mistakes with these bonanzas before.  I am not saying he is wrong you still might have a changeling but like I said I was under the impression they wouold have a changeling logo.  I don't guess you can know for sure what it is unless you have the cover analized my someone and you cut it in half to see the core, but I am sure you don't want to do that.

johns811,
I saw his auction description on eBay. This is my first time dealing with Beans.
Seems like a good guy, from what I've read.
I'm a gambler...It will be interesting to see how the ball reacts.

According to AMF, the Changeling is a Truimph core, wrapped with the "leftovers" of a ball run.  Could be AMF, Columbia, or Track!  The one I got has the Truimph (inverted bell) core with the Rule shell.  Haven't drilled it yet, still trying to figure out the best drill for it.  Got it from Beans too!  Good guy!

Speaking from experience with Beans, he is a good guy, however, his bonanza balls are exactly that bonanza balls, its pot luck...when he first started selling them he said oh I have a ton of GP2 blems, so I jumped on it....instead I got an overdrive...polished....That's what happens when you buy a blem ball, its total pot luck on what ya get...

Looks like a Rule cover to me also...What core, though?
I think this is unanswerable.

That ball is a Bonanza.  Beans had both Changelings and "Test" balls (bonanzas) for sell here and on ebay.  The Bonanzas on ebay were for 59.95 shipped and the Changelings were 69.95 shipped.  I bought 3 of the Bonanza's hoping to maybe get a Changeling. If you bought a Changeling and got a Bonanza I would e-mail and let him know.

The Changeling is the Triumph core with left over coverstock from other ball runs, and is supposed to be a great ball.  Bonanza's are pot-luck.  Good luck finding out what it is - if you do please let me know as I have 3 sitting here and have no idea what they are or how to drill them!

btw - 2 of the 3 that I have seem to have 2 different serial numbers.  1 under the Bonanza label and another one on the other side of the ball.  Anybody know how to decode the serial numbers?
