LANE CONDITION

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):  THS

COMMENTS

Likes:  Drilled my Pure with a 45 x 5 x 70 layout, this puts the pin below my middle finger with the cg kicked out to the right and a P3 hole.  First I can tell you is the ball is very aggressive.  I hit mine with a 3000 grit pad and had a very nice arc to the pocket on a THS, with that though you could definately see that it needed a little more head oil to really shine.  This will be a great ball on medium or long sport patterns and should be a good ball this year to start with at Nationals.
I will be hitting it with 4000 and see if that will work for THS.

Dislikes:  None did what I thought it would

The AMF Pure
With the F90 cover stock oil is no longer a problem, this ball has mega friction.
I drilled my Pure strong a 4x2x4 and it is a monster. Heavy oil sport shots, heavy oil
house shots, long oil patterns this ball we eat right through the oil. Your rev rate and
speed will dictate how to drill this one, I was amazed at the friction to the lane so if you need a ball for oily conditions this is it.

AMF Pure
#15.2
2"" pin
2.5 oz top

Rt. hand
14-15 mph
PAP 4 9/16

Drilling: 4 1/2 by 4, pin down, surface 3000 with hand polish
Volume 38-41ft
THS, Kegel Challenge Series, Sport

The new AMF Pure is just that - pure hook!  If you're looking for the heavy oil ball this one is it.  Drilled mine pin down, 4 1/2 by 4.  Puts pin at 12 o'clock for me.  With the 1500 E finish to it and my ball speed, forget it!  I was amazed at how much this ball wants to roll right out of my hand.  Early hook and a smooth backend.  After 5 shots took the Pure to the spinner where we broke down the cover 3000 and added a little Storm Reacta Shine.  On the fresh ball is a beast!  Could get as deep as I wanted without sacrificing carry.  Saw a more angular backend but still overall hook is there especially in mid-lane.  Getting soft with this ball not an option.  Soon as the heads break down for me this ball goes back into the bag.  The up-front motion and mid-lane are just too much.  Overall ball is what its intended for...oil!  Oil beware of the AMF Pure!

The New AMF Pure with the F90 cover stock is designed for large amounts of oil. I drilled my Pure with a 4 X 4 X 2 layout and found that I had the greatest success on the longer sport patterns especially the 52' pattern, the ball really performed great. I then used the Pure on the 39' house pattern and found that I had to apply a little polish to get the ball to clear the front of the lane and retain enough energy to get the corners out, overall the Pure has very smooth and continuous motion on the backend no matter what pattern you are playing on. The Pure will fit anybody's style from the high rev to the low rev with a little surface adjustment. The Pure is a must add to the bag for the USBC Open Championships in El Paso. Drilling: 4 x 4 x4
Pap: 4 3/8 x ¼ up
Finish: Box Finish
Lane Condition: 40 Foot THS
Summary:  I drilled this Pure  with the pin above  below my ring finger and the CG kicked at 45 degrees.  The mass bias is slightly right of my thumb.  I chose to keep the Factory Finish as I was looking at this ball being my strong early rolling ball.  The layout used is my favorite layout and let me tell you, this ball is very strong and has a great roll to it.  The motion was very predictable in the mid lane and still had continual roll through the pins.  For me this ball will need to have some oil to create maximum carry however I did not have any issues getting in while there was still a good amount of oil.  This ball hit hard and carried well.  This ball is a  great addition for me in the early part of a tournament to keep control of the midlane and pocket.

COMMENTS
Smooth, controlled, predictable are the best words to describe the AMF Pure. One of the best things of this ball is the hitting power and continuation through the pins. The Pure is a heavy oil ball, but is still tame enough to use on multiple patterns including a house shot. I was easily a whole arrow deeper with my Pure compared to my Moxie and Respect. Easily a ball to use when you need a little extra up front to cut through that oil, but not sacrificing on backend performance. The ball motion overall is a very strong arch. If you need something to combat the oil and destroy the pins, then the AMF Pure is your ball!

Can anyone post a review of their AMF Pure after about 100 games? Mine is as dead as a door knob. Does not perform close to what it did when new.
Balls: Motiv Forza GT, Motiv Primal Rage Remix, Motiv Ascent Pearl and Motiv (On The Ball) spare ball.. All made in the USA.

Type:  Nationals Team pattern 2015

Dislikes:  None

I drilled my Pure 2.5 inch Pin to Pap, 2.5 inch CG to PAP.  I was looking for hook stop to match the oil volume at Nationals.  This ball worked awesome!  The coverstock is the most aggressive on the market and worked exactly as expected, combined with the layout helped stablize the backend.  Compared to the Moxie the Pure controlled the backends and allowed me play the same area longer.  If you are looking for a ball to cut through the oil this ball is for you!

I have this ball Pin down.  It revs up well and hooks early.  For a THS, I find that this ball is ultra controllable and rolls extremely well.  I would use this ball first on a fresh set of lanes at my local house.  I really am a believer in the PURE series of AMF.  I really like this ball and can only try to attempt to convey that feeling over to you.  It really is something of beauty to watch it crush the pins with a consistent roll.
