Title: Pure..Initial Thoughts
Post by: iamone78 on April 12, 2015, 06:34:02 PM
After 3 weeks of being away, I finally got a chance to punch my Pure and use it. I threw the Pure for 2.5 games (6 game qualifier) today on the 2013 US Open pattern (22.2ml; 42'). This is definitely a ball that has a lot of potential! I was able to play up the boards to start targeting around 7,8,9 and after 1 game easily made a move deeper and targeted around 3rd arrow. On both lines I had decent mid-lane read and a predictable ball motion off the dry. Controlled, smooth, predictable, all great attributes for this ball. On both lines, I was impressed at how well it went through the pins. I would best compare it to a Darkness, but a little earlier read with a very similar ball motion overall.  Combined with the Moxie, Respect and Dream On, I was able to follow the transition all tournament and capture a 1st place finish. I can't wait to get it on a few more games on it and also on some additional patterns and do a full review. I can easily see this one becoming a favorite and being added to the bag for El Paso. If you have been telling yourself you are wanting to try AMF, but might be a little hesitant, don't be. Don't let the F90 cover strength deter you from adding this ball to your league or tournament arsenal. Trust me, you will definitely turn some heads and have people asking what ball you are using. I know I did today.

I am super stoked and kinda worried at the same time. I've had my issues with the Combustion core, but think I know what I need to do to get the ball to be pleasing to my eye.

I need to get a few more games on it, but all in all, I don't have any complaints at this point.

I love mine on sport patterns.  Has a very controlled roll which is very nice.  The cover was a little too much for me, so ended up hitting it with 3000 grit.  This ball has made my tournament bag and bag for El Paso.  I drilled mine with a 45x5x70 layout...
