Title: Radar LOCK
Post by: lane1convert on May 30, 2006, 05:44:11 PM
I have read that this is the next ball in the Radar line.  I was just wondering if anybody has any info on it, or the Orbit Xtreme?

As far as I remember, it was said a while back that it was going to be a solid reactive with the Tower Core...about right? Pic idea is a good one, btw...

If you thought the Radar was good, just wait the Radar Lock is even better. Plus the Orbit Extreme will be the best 100 dollar ball on the market. Christmas comes in July this year for all of the AMF faithful.

Jim Scott, was rolling a Radar Lock, at Bowling Green.
I think he said you drilled it for him 3 X 2....he shot 780 with it.

Impressive ball, and great layout for his game.

He said hecouldn't use it in the Sr. Regional at Beverly over the weekend, as it wasn't PBA approved as of yet?

I just received my Radar Lock and Orbit Extreme and will hopefully drill them in the next few days and get a report out ASAP. I leave for Corpus Christi this weekend, so the report may not be for another week.  Plus I don't think the balls will be released until after Bowl Expo.  But I will tell you that these two balls will fill the Gaps very nicely.

One of our local kid supertalents got one of these drilled up this week. I watched him bowl a couple of practice games and he was destroying everything in sight.

Both Radar balls look like good ones to me. Our pro shop guy raves about both, but the original Radar didn't sell much where we are. If I had the money right now, I'd probably drill an original Radar up.

Drilled mine up 2wks ago.  Box specs are as follows.  15.02 Top 3 1/2 and pin was 4.5-5.0.  I put the pin above the Middle Finger and the CG shifted well towards the RF.  Drilling is 6 x 2 5/8.  Weight hole 7/8 below the Grip midline and 6 1/2 over.  Used this ball in practice on a tournament pattern that was 44' Oiled 2-1 ratio on wood.  This ball if I started outside made a great move and carried very well.  On that shot I would of really like to have the pin a little lower but I like the pin high because around in my neck of the woods lanes tend to be drier.  I am going to imagine without using it yet on normal shots that this ball will be about 2 boards more angular on the backends.  This ball is going to be a great addition to AMF300 Arsenal.  Will fit very nicely between the Terminal Velocity and the Radar.

I saw that on ebay, but be careful that guy ships us mail parcel post which is the slowest shipping available. It took me 4 weeks to receive a ball shipped that way. I would stay away from that auction just because of that.

I have had mine for a week or so now. It is a monster if you have the right surface prep.

I drilled mine 5 X 3 1/2 with an extra hole on my pap.

Ball gets through the heads pretty clean but still reads the mids good and continues strong.

It has become one of my go to balls when I need a strong reaction.
