Question about my Radar
« on: February 17, 2006, 10:40:35 PM »
Really love the raction of my new Radar, but a quick question. is there anywhere that i can put a weight hole that will raise the bowtie that's created by the track flare? it's flaring over the finger holes and i'm worried it might affect the raction. it's got 3/4 oz of side weight, and i love the reaction, i don't want to change it too much, but i don't want to roll over the fingers any more either.

it's drilled pin below bridge cg out about 3/4 of an inch. pin is above and right of the thumb maybe 3/4 of an inch. lmk.

i wanted something that would have some decent backend, but start a little sooner than my SJP, drilled 5X4 pin above the bridge, so i dropped the pin down. reacts perfect. just the way i wanted it to.

actually went down to my center tonight and after we put a hole in the positive thumb quadrant, boom, no flaring over the fingers. love it. reacts very very well.

Normal weight hole position to raise the bowtie is 2.5" - 3.5" below the PAP. It usually requires some side weight and some thumb weight to be removed, with the CG in the thumb positive quadrant. You might wind up with some finger weight, but will not make as much difference. If you use this weighthole, there is also usually some added flare, which translates to a little more midlane and more backend, for pearls. (It translates to more midlane and earlier hook for duller balls.)

i measured it and it's about 2.5" below my axis. did make it a little more skid-flippy than it was, and i mean that in a good way. great reaction. just bowled in states on the heavy side of medium, and was able to play this ball really well. would've shot huge if i could've carried a little better. ball hits too hard! lol. no complaints though, shot 694.
