Returning to the Sport!
« on: July 19, 2015, 01:06:07 PM »
I haven't bowled in probably nine years, went last night for the first time in ages with some friends and the rush just came back to me, and I have decided to get back into the sport.

I currently have probably the oldest line up of AMF stuff ever, haha.  I am currently using an AMForce 3, a Cold Fusion, and an Angle Evolution.  Obviously this stuff is tired and I've decided to come back into the sport with a new arsenal and I always loved AMF, but I am noticing they are now 900 Global.  I know a bit of the history here, so I'm under the impression that the quality and characteristics that made me love AMFs of the past is still there, so I am sticking with them.

That all being said, I always liked the idea of having three same core balls with different covers and surfaces as a simple 3 ball arsenal.  For those of you that have thrown all three, what do you think of using the Pure Adrenaline, the Decimate, and the Pure in combination?  Do the cores make them too similar, or are they easy to diversify with different drillings and surfaces?  Look forward to you guys' opinions.

Pure and Pure Adrenaline are going to be night and day. Pure is super strong early (think old high load particle) and Adrenaline is going to be long and flippy. Decimate is going to be a little in-between the 2, but closer to the Adrenaline. If you're looking to stay only AMF, go decimate with some surface, Adrenaline oob, and a Night Hawk SE, because that ball is the nut. Pure is going to be a lot of ball on most conditions, and if you're only bowling on a house shot will be too much too early.

Welcome back!!!

When I returned after 15 years away, I tried so many different balls with different core types....but in the end, I stuck to symmetrical balls. Mostly, "light bulb" type cores with different covers.

I want the Pure and PA to be night and day, it looks like the Decimate will fit between the two nicely at OOB sheen, and the PA polished up.  The Pure looks good to me because it minds me of my old Global Assault which I ADORED.

I will say, it's a nice thing to see that particle technology has sort of gone the way of the dodo.  I hated having a ball you loved for it to only last 50 games and never be able to get resurfaced to be like new.

I used to back in the day, have to pick up with 15lbs though because my 16lb stuff just feels like throwing a cinder block on my arm after being away for so long!

I may be wrong but I believe particles are still used, just not advertised as so.

The AMF Pure Adrenaline is a TANK through the pins. I've been bowling very good with mine for the past three weeks (I got mine early). Last night I shot 245 - 256 - 265 - 766 with my AMF Pure Adrenaline in summer league
Balls: Motiv Forza GT, Motiv Primal Rage Remix, Motiv Ascent Pearl and Motiv (On The Ball) spare ball.. All made in the USA.

If you are looking at three and want the Pure line, I would go with those two and either the Night Hawk SE or the Unreal.  Unreal would fit in between the Pure and Pure Adrenaline very nicely
