Title: This is THE ball!
Post by: JOE FALCO on October 23, 2007, 11:37:13 PM
I touted the COLUMBIA SPIRIT when it was introduced as the best ball at a great price. Then I bought a USED TRIUMPH I told everyone that would listen that it was the best ball around.

Now I have the HEIST and to those that are looking to take a chance I'm suggesting that this is the ball to try! My drilling most closely resembles the LEVERAGE/ARC pattern suggested in the HEIST DRILLING INSTRUCTIONS!

I'd write a review on the ball but I can't detail the specs that some look for .. so I'm hear telling you that I've tried MANY/MANY balls and few have impressed me like the HEIST!

Good to hear Joe.

I've got one coming from tenpin's/Derek's AMF Angle raffle that I won last week and upgraded to the Hei$t as I wanted a middle of the road benchmark ball to eventually replace my DT Solid Black Vendetta.

I'll let you guys know what I think after I get 'er drilled and some games on it.

Did you change the OOB surface Joe?

glad to hear that you like the ball Joe.  It really was a great ball for them to use as their first AMF release.

Glad to hear you are loving the Hei$t, Joe!

It definitely is one of the most versatile, smooth-but-strong rolling balls out there today. Nothing quite like it -- even BTM said it had a pretty unique, "almost vintage" reaction.

Joe:

The Spirit, Spirit II, Hex Plosion and the AMF Kick were all great ball, lol.

That was old Columbia used a "Dump" coverstock.  It was suppose to be whatever BASF had left in tanks, they dumped into one big batch. I have seen some of those balls hook out of the building and other go backwards when they hit oil.  The sad thing is that they did it more than one time.

BO, I loved the Extra as well.  I have a 16 in great shape if you are interested.  I have have dropped to 15 and don't throw it anymore.

I also loved the Pearl Menace.  Very angular and great carry.

I have a new Venom that I recently traded for but haven't drilled yet.  I may have to get it out.

Well Joe...I think this is no surprise.

If you liked the Triumph this ball has the One Plus 7 technology too!

(Is that 1.7 % particle load....they have said no in another post?!)

BUT that core...my my.

I've seen in one of my favorite AMF balls....

This one...

Victory SPT  (http://"http://www.bowlingballreviews.com/ball.asp?ballid=1667")
(was actually light blue ...beautiful and gorgeous reaction).

and was also seen in this ball which was ugly but used well by some bowlers.

Wow Pearl  (http://"http://www.bowlingballreviews.com/ball.asp?ballid=1875")

Both balls had nice backends and good length for particles.

I've also seen this core in several other balls that were quite popular but can't think of the names now!

Regarding the Victory SPT.  I talked one of our better bowlers into getting one about 3 years ago.  It was like all he used for over two years and at the same time he picked up a Track Unleashed quite a good ball also...

Good core...nice coverstock for controlling overunder also!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS oh yeah....Nuline Virus and Deadly Virus...same great core!  Well liked by me and many others!

Well Joe I will have to agree with you about this ball.  This could be the sleeper of the year.  This ball rolls sweet.  I did mine with a 5.5 x 4 pin up and it has a very nice motion with great carry.  I will need to do another with a stronger pin down with a hole.

Also had the chance to throw the new Pearl Nighthawk tonight and that too is sleeper.  Not sure about the color but it does grab you.  This one is 4.5 x 4.5 no hole and able to play multiple angels with it.
