What is the REAL color of the TNT?
« on: October 04, 2004, 08:40:59 AM »
Every description says it's black, but I just got one off of Ebay and it is a Burgundy color... they said it was first quality... but I'm wondering if it's a color blem or if something is wrong with the ball, etc...???

I saw burgundy listed somewhere else but can't remember where.

i was going to get a burgundy one off ebay so i asked AMF about he color. They said originally it was going to be burgundy and they changed to black at the last second. They said the burgundy ones are first quality and no different than the black ones.

Hey Clint
They are 1st and AMF just chnaged the color right before marketing and releasing the ball. They are still good to go !!

I just received a Burgundy version, drilled it up,
and it is an absolute keeper ! For a strong particle,
it still has playable length and it carries well. I've
already had fellow bowlers ask about the color issue, they
thought it was black too. I used it a full session, on a
un-bowled pair. Started around 22 to 12, at the end of the
night, 35 to about 15. Still carried well with the move
inside.

Shrreeeeeww...

I have been sweating something fearce ever since I opened the box fearing that I didn't have a "good" one. And thinking that I had some kind of "blem".

So by the sound of things, these Burgundy colored ones were the very first batch that AMF made before they decided to change the color to Black... but are still 1st quality and basically identicle to the Black version... correct?

Does anybody know why they changed the color???

Hello Clint
I would ask that question of the AMF webpage.
AMF300.com and see what they tell you.

I e-mailed AMF as recommended by Hammer Truck and here's what they said:

-------------
"Don't be worried. The 2 differnt colored balls are the same exact ball, just different color. We were going to make it the burgundy color, then made last minute change to black. We made 200 or so. They are again no different. Just changed the color after the first 200."
-------------

So... there's only 200 of these little sweetie pies, eh?

Makes one wonder why they even allowed the Burgundy colored ones to get out into the public... since it would cause a little confusion for some!

Also, "LeftyGomez" said basically the same thing as what they told me.
