Mega Friction - burn out?
« on: July 14, 2009, 08:21:00 PM »
Does the mega friction burn out often? I'm thinking about getting one and putting a double thumb drilling on it...I have med revs and can keep the ball speed up around 15.5

The Mega will burn up if you're rolling it anywhere with less than heavier volumes of oil.  The cover is so strong, it needs oil to perform.

Three things:

1.  You need a long pin distance for a double thumb.

2.  If you drill the pin above the finger line the Mega Frcition pushes better.

3.  After testing yesterday with Clean and Sheen, the cover takes well to surface changes.

The Mega frction does not have to be a heavy oil monster only, even with a few games on it, the MF tames down a little and can be used on lane conditions other then heavy oil.

as Nic said, the MF uses a very versatile cover, I had much better success with mine at 4000 abralon than at box finish, the cover is a typical 900G or AMF cover, takes surfaces changes as well as any cover made. Unless you bowl on a flood the MF in most cases will be too strong at oob finish. The more revs you have the longer pin distance you will need on this monster. IMO it is the strongest ball AMF has made to date.
