Guys, just wanna ask if there is a lot of difference using 1/3 hp ball spinner vs 1/2 hp ball spinner? Some say it has to do with the torque and not the h.p. well anyone can give me an insight on this?
Thanks in advance

I switched from a 1/2 to a 3/4 hp motor recently and I can tell you that there was a big difference. The 1/2 hp motor had a tendency to slow down when you put any kind of heavy pressure on the ball(wet sanding or polishing seemed to do it). It wasn't anything you couldn't work around, but it could be a hassle.
I found an equation for you to calculate the torque you would get with each one.
hp = (torque X rpm)/5,250
hp=horse power, rpm=revolutions per minute
The 3/4 hp motor hardly skips a step when you apply pressure. That is the torque of the motor coming in to play. The more power output(HP) an electric motor has, the higher the torque tends to be(given that the rpm stays the same). As more resistance is applied to the motor, it will lose rotational speed slower. If 1/3 and 1/2 are your choices, I would go with the 1/2 if it is possible. It will net you about twice the amount of torque as the 1/3 hp motor will.

Vertex 1/2 HP. I've had mine around 3 years using it at least 2-3 times a week for around 30-45 minutes per session. I have never slowed it down no matter how much pressure. Great quality spinner!

I have a 1/2 hp Vertex spinner and though I dont use it alot, I have never been able to stop the ball from spinning. I agree with legendforlife95..

3rd vote for the 1/2hp Vertex - I've never been able to stop it.

Make that number 4 for the 1/2 hp Vertex.

Got my 1/2HP today. I haven't had much opportunity to use it, but to try it out and practice, I cleaned my wife's Target Zone with it and couldn't slow it down. I also cleaned and polished an old 16# green WD with it. I used Turtle Wax rubbing compound and got a pretty nice finish without too much effort. I really needed to have sanded it down first, it has a lot of nicks and scratches, but looks nice otherwise.

I went with the dual speed From DONKEY. the neck below the bucket was the selling point for me. This is the stress point where some spinners seem to break, from too much torque. handmeDn

Get a Vertex 1/2 HP spinner and you will be very happy. I have had 3 of them over the years and when I get ready to own another one, thats what I will buy.. I also have had a 2 speed Donkee spinner and since I had both the Vertex and Donkee, I can say the Vertex 1/2 hp is hands down the better spinner. Its very smooth and you can use it just sitting on a table. The Donkee spinner vibrates horribly and the 2 speed is just not needed..
Plus Vertex stands behind their product very well.. I cannot say that for Donkee..
