Title: 300 Global
Post by: newguy on April 09, 2007, 05:45:37 AM
300Global Opens for Business

SAN ANTONIO, Mike Sellers and Phil Cardinale, former VP’S OF Columbia Industries, have joined forces to form 300 Global LLC.

300 Global will be the umbrella company under which Dynoroos, AMF300, and its own brand of 300 Global performance balls will be distributed world wide. Dynoroos, a performance shoe, has ample inventory and will make a running name change to “3G” as current inventory is depleted. In addition to the balls, shoes and AMF300 product line, 300 Global will bring unique products to market, such as the world’s first remote control bowling ball, which is expected to be demonstrated at Bowl Expo. This unique product will add a new dimension to recreation bowling.

300 Global will distribute and is in the midst of securing manufacturing, its own brand of high performance high tech products. “We have some of the most experienced people in the industry available to us, as well as some of the best resins too” said Sellers. “If you add up all the experienced people and contacts we have, it would be unfair to call this a start up operation, I fully expect 300 Global to be selling balls by June if not sooner” added Cardinale.

Joining Mike Sellers (Operations) and Phil Cardinale (Sales and Marketing) will be Eric Thomas (Sales) Dale Garner (Sales/ Customer Service), Kyle Burns (International Sales), Dan Speranza (Operations) and George Brooks (Operations).

Congratulations!  I look forward to trying you new equipment.

And what the heck is a remote control bowling ball?

Congrats, Phil.  I wish you and all of 300 Global the best of luck.

A remote control bowling ball, though?  I'll be amazed if you guys pull it off...but I would hate to see it ruin the game.  I don't want to walk into an alley and see recreational bowlers striking at will with their RC balls.  And such an idea might further the notion that bowling is a game, not a sport.  If you take all physical aspects out, how will it remain even remotely (excuse the pun) athletic?

Just some thoughts.  I hope no offense is taken -- I truly do look forward to trying (non-remote-controlled) 300 Global equipment...

How about kids at a birthday party, physically handicapped and corporate parties. It beats bouncing them off the bumpers.

Phil,

Good luck with the new venture.  Is it too early to ask when you will make an announcement on specific ball releases?  Let's see the Threshold NGS and Pure Energy again!

Yeah, "re-release" (dunno if it was officially released) the NGS, under a different name I guess? I didn't get a chance to try it out in the limited time it was available. Of course, everyone also wants the Phoenix from Track.

I didn't think of the handicap thing...or the corporate parties...but I think the childrens' b-day parties goes too far.  Think about it -- if you are trying to promote a sport, and get people involved, then exposing children, at any time, to the authentic sport, is a good thing.  You don't want children to expect the RC ball.  You want them to like real bowling.

I think it might pay to have one or two in each alley -- they could be rented out, or something like that.  It would be the property of the house, like a lane machine.  I'm sure they would cost a reasonable amount too, so I guess that lessens my fear of everybody buying one.

Don't know what happened to my originalpost, but do you have a new website?

I know it wouldn't be legal for sanctioned competition.  But that's not my point.

Phil thanks for keeping all of us at BR in the loop.

I can see that the remote controlled ball could be very popular with the mentally and physically handicaped, as well as children who are are already using hand held controls for X-Box, Nintendo, Wii, ect....

I am looking forward to using your next ball.

I do have one question. Will you be registering your equipment with the PBA? I ask because after this year, my shoes (Dynorooz) more than likely will not be allowed to use in any PBA events, regional or national during the 2007-08 season.

Check the DT forum, there are a few posts about that.  The Dynorooz shoes will not be PBA registered after August (when the current registration expires).  However, PBA members who find themselves in a tough spot because of that will be given a discount on a pair of 300 Global-labelled shoes.  300 Global will be registered (otherwise, what's the point of the discount for PBA members), and they will be the same shoes as before, just with a different logo, just like when they changed from ABS to Dynorooz.

Does anyone know if they are going to be using the vacted warehouse that Columbia was using? That is a fairly new building, they probably can get it pretty cheap.

Well, their emails are going to 300global.com.  There is no site their yet, but I'm guessing there will be in the future.  I think the biggest question is where they will have products manufactured!

The shoes will probably stay wherever the shoes have always been made.  There are a few options for balls, and I agree that the C300 San Antonio plant probably won't stay vacant for long.  Storm had C300 making some of their low-end equipment, so maybe they'll snatch the building and manufacturing equipment up and expand their own capacity.

If you notice the address at the bottom of the press release it is the same as the old Columbia address.

I just used Google Earth to look at those two addresses.   Looks to be
the same building nearly though Google Earth makes 4837 look like a parking
lot and 5005 is an intersection.   Take a look...

5005 west is the main Columbia headquarters plant and warehouse. 4837 is the office and warehouse adjacent it also housed the Columbia test center. Former Track offices. So now we all know and there is no need to speculate.

Newguy/Phil-

Since your company will be dealing with AMF300, is Bowler's Tape staying around too?   What about Pro-Grip such as the residue remover.  Or is that defunct?

Bowlers tape will be around, we will continue to produce and sell that product.  The pro grip brand was part of the transaction through Ebonite.

Newguy/ Phil,
Don't forget to let us know when we can see and get our hands on your new stuff, I for one am very interested in seeing what you do. Take the soaker cover and put it with core similar to that of the Action series, that would be something

Probably not the same core.  According to that other site[/i], the diff is just a pinch over the limits.
