Any more Tank reviews?
« on: November 29, 2013, 06:20:01 PM »
I'm really close to pulling the trigger on these things, just looking for a little confirmation that they'll soften up a little bit. Out of the box they seem very stiff. Both the material itself and the flexibility of the shoe overall. Now that they've been out for a while I was hoping there would be a little more insight on the "break in" period, and how much they break in. Let me know overall likes/dislikes too if you wear them. Thanks.

Matt

P.S. - I was hoping too get this insight from a buddy of mine i bowl with on fridays, being that he got them right when they came out. problem is, he wore them one week, and has been down with a knee injury ever since. Let me know. thanks again.

I have had my tanks for a couple months now, they aren't quite as soft as my SST8's were by time I had to throw them away but they are close. The extra stitching and such at the toe portion of the shoe has it a lot sturdier, and to some it may feel stiff, to me it feels really good. The shoes definitely run a little narrow, but to me and my non wide feet they feel good.

Definitely try a pair on first, but they do break in a bit and for me they feel a lot better than the SST8's and spending a full day bowling my feet feel better with these than they ever did wearing the 8's.

And just one small thing to consider, Dexter has teased SST9's coming fairly soon.

Thank you. I have tried them on, and they just feel stiffer than my probably 8 year old dynothanes. I thought they'd break in a bit though.

As far as the sst 9's go, I'm assuming they will use the total interchangeable system...so I won't be interested.
