Just bought abs tour ultras, couple ?'s
« on: June 05, 2006, 07:59:13 AM »
I dont like my Dexter sst6 lx for they just dont give me the ride slide adjustment and all that jazz, my coach suggested the tour ultras for a couple reasons, there just as nice but they have more options for sliding, inlcuding the adjustable sole which I am excited about.  How good do these work and is there anything I should know about using them or ways to take care of them to get good life out of them.   My sst6lx's had sole 1 and heel 2 on them and I slide to much, guess it could be my stability but I have rather good form (2 years of coaching) and I just cant get them the way I want it.  Thanks for all your input.  Jordan

My sst6 lx's are on ebay right now if anyone is interested.

The TUs are excellent shoes.  It will be a miracle if you can't get some combination to work for you if you get the Adjust-a-heel add-on kit.

Your coach is right the Tour Ultras have the most adjustable sole/heel combos out there the adjustable heel is awesome for thoose approaches that are simply unmanageable and IMO the slide soles and heels last much longer than Dexters. the heels are rounded at the front where Dexters are flat/square and give much better braking control. Maintenance just brush them except the chrome leather sole and you should have no probs.

They're not half bad.    My only complaint is that the bag that they go in when I take them off doesn't fit all that great in my 3-ball roller.  I might try putting them in flat instead of on their sides.

The Tour Ultras are the best shoes on the market bar none . If the only bad thing that people can say here is that they do not fit in a bag sideways, If I did not have them I'd rush out and buy a pair now. As for care brush the soles as needed except for the chrome leather and felt, I'd suggest purchasing the adjustable heel along with the shoes this sole is awesome, and for sticky approaches you might want the leather heel also but try the adjustable first. oh yea also if you dont have shoe covers buy some to walk around in to keep the junk off the heels and soles. I do not use the bag for storeage as Shelly does it's too much work to pack and unpack every time out.

either Shelly's roller bag is too small or his feet are too big, LOL

Jord if your sliding too much with a sole 1 and heel #2 on dexters you might as well use a sneaker. You can also turn around heel #2 to point in the other direction which helps get a little less slide. Hope the TU help, I have both and like both, the TU's slide more for me.

I bought 9.5s, you know that.  And I just got some new sneakers, 8.5s.  My feet aren't too big (which, by the way, has nothing to do with anything else).

It's an older Streamline, I guess the shoe compartment is too small.  Not gonna talk my old lady into a new one, though.

The Tour Ultras are an awesome shoe, with plenty of heel-sole combinations.  For even more versatility, try the Adjust-a-heel.
