I know that people have been happy with the TPU-X but any reviews on the Stealth? A cheaper option, also with interchangeable soles/heels. After well over 5 years, it might be time to retire my SST 8s.

Myself and a friend both have them. I'm not pleased. The right toe wore down within a couple of months. My friend had the same problem, and recently got them to warranty the shoes. I'm about to do the same, since it doesn't look like these shoes will make it through a single calendar year.

Be a little cautious here. I have the TPU's yet they are not entirely perfect. The original releases had a problem with wearing out the toe, if you are a toe dragger. I have been told Brunswick has fixed this problem. I have no way of telling since I bought mine when they were first released. I fixed this problem by attaching a 3" piece of the fuzzy side of a Velcro
strip to the front of my right shoe. I change this piece about
one a month (bowl in three leagues and practice a lot).
To me this slight inconvenience is worth it, because the shoes
are so darn comfortable. If your not a toe dragger, combined with the fact that Brunswick may have fixed this problem, then you can't go wrong with the TPU's. Compared to the Stealth model;, you get what you pay for.

Team mate was concerned about the toe on his drag foot and got some gorilla tape. Let me say the gorilla tape puts duck tape to shame. Just another option for any brand shoe if you are hard on the drag toe

Stealth is a vinyl where as the TPU-X is leather. That in itself should sell you on the superior shoe.

Save the extra money and get the TPU-X. They are both comfortable but the TPU to me has created such a gap between the 2. Be also warned that you have to get used to what Brunswick has created. I like the sawtooth 9 from Dexter as well as the 3G red felt heel. No Dexter sole will fit the Brunswick shoes.
When I used the Brunswick sole and heel, the problem I had was the 8 was not enough and the 10 was too much. Same problem I always have with any shoe, (Dexter SSTs, 3G Tours, Storm SP2 900s), so most times, I'll have to modify the sole. The Blue Felt Heel is awesome, the only issue with that is the rubber made into the heel to shape the blue felt like a crown. Sometimes I get in sideways and catch that rubber.
My honest opinion of the shoes are that they are AWESOME!!! The most comfortable shoes I've ever put on. They are made like sneakers and fit as such. Those drawbacks I mentioned earlier are nothing to be too concerned about. I feel like with those issues resolved the shoes would lap everything else because they are better built and cheaper than any other HP shoe on the market.

I used my Dexter number 2 sole, and the horse shoe heel when I first got the shoes because the other stuff wasn't available when the shoes first released. The Dexter soles aren't an exact fit but depending on the size sole you get it can be trimmed and fits pretty well.
The Brunswick soles are longer, but the Dexters can work.

I had no problem cutting a Dexter S9 (mix of a S8 & S10) to fit my Brunswick TPU's. When doing so it leaves a very small void at the bottom base of the sole. I just cut a matching small piece from the left over S9 sole material to fit the small void. You can also leave the small void if you wish as it won't hamper the performance of the sole.
