cheapest place to pre-order the 9s?
« on: August 02, 2015, 10:15:56 AM »
Anybody found a place with a better price than another for pre-order? Seems 189.99 is the norm.

When you order the 9, can you specify which sole/heel combo you want?  I always have had to change to the combo that gives the most slide on my other shoes that came with various soles/heels.  Would not want to order a pair of shoes that I can't use out of box.

If these are now sold with MAP pricing, why not go crazy and do something like..... order from your pro shop instead of trying to save a nickel buying online? You get the added bonus of customer service if they fit different than expected or need replacing due to a defect.

I think Online is here to stay. Let's face it. Companies online have the better deals

FYI, there is a whole list of products that have the MAP pricing from all the manufacturers.  This is in response to the brick and mortar pro shops complaining that they could not compete with the online (no overhead) stores.  By adding the MAP pricing, the online could not sell below a certain price allowing the physical location to compete.

Pro Shops have been closing every time you blink because we can't compete with Internet pricing. Brick and Mortar shops are a LOCAL business that is there for their bowlers and provide a service and competitive prices with the Internet. Try supporting your local economy for a change instead of the business 2000 miles away from you that could care less after they took you money. Like Nails said, if your local pro shop is good, they should be competitive and give you customer service. People like you are the first that go into a local shop and complain about how the ball you bought online does not fit properly or the shoes are not the right size, but hey you save a buck!

Careful throwing the "you" around.  I am also a pro shop operator and would rather see the bowler come to me first.  I will help them when they order stuff online but not always for no charge.  In the end the purchase costs the same if you buy it online or at the shop.

That is not right. I can get online products a lot cheaper than the Pros. Plus the pro shops hardly stock anything.

Wouldn't that be awesome to be able to do this.  Then it would technically become a 'custom' shoes which would run more. The 9's do appear to be the best shoes out there. It's like taking the Etonic shoes that Ozio created and made them much better.

No, if you want a specific heel sole combo you need to order the heels and soles you want separately at $30 each.  That is another drawback to this shoe.

Heels are the same as are used for all the SST's.  Soles are specific to the 9's.

You completely missed the point. I said since the prices are nearly identical, why not support your local pro shop?

Everyone has to make their choice on how they spend their money, but every time you keep a local shop from turning a profit is a chance that they will eventually go out of business. I don't want to not have a local option. Their are certain things I don't want to do on line.

+1

That's what I saw also, the prices are basically identical whether online or at the shop, so I'm going to the proshop. Which would make any returns, exchanges, warranty claims easier to handle too.

The 9's are too new for there to be any real "deals"  yet on them anywhere.

Shoes are extremely personal for me and I need to touch them and check out things like arch support. I bought a pair of the LZs to replace my old sst6 leather ones, and the build quality isn't the same. If these are good, I may pick up a pair.

The 9 sole has a the toe cap built into it -- a two-in-one setup for $30. If you buy a 3G sole and the separate 3G toe cap, you're out $43.

I know, you don't always need a new sole when the cap needs replacing (and vice versa), but you get the picture there are no magical life altering savings with the 3Gs.

I ended up getting mine from my PSO. He had them for 185 out the door.
