Dynorooz/ 3 G Shoes
« on: June 05, 2009, 12:39:17 AM »
How much different are the Tour model vs. the sports model.  I see the tour model has the cleat sole, probably would never use.  I own the original ABS which are showing their age and want to replace with the 3G's any opinions.

The Tour models are the top of the line for 3G and in my opinion are the best shoes you can buy.  They are all leather and are really comfortable.  They have the same interchangeable parts as the sport, but you get a lot more for only like $20 more online.  You get the same amount of heels and soles, but you also get the cleat system, the form keepers that help you shoes keep their form and also help them from getting crushed in your bag, you get the shoe cover for your slide shoe and all that comes in a nice big carry bag.  my first Dynothanes at the time were the Sport Ultras and I loved them til I burned them out then I got the Tour Ultras 2 years ago and they are barely showing thier age.  If you want very good bowling shoes, these are the ones to get.

i might also add that the tour ultras are made with kangaroo leather which is far softer and more supple than the competitions cowhide and at least twice as strong. these shoes feature quality construction with the uppers glued and stitched to the soles and their is plenty of cushioning and padding all around the shoe. up to six different soles and six different heels are available to customize your slide. i've just recently purchased my third pair and wouldn't think of buying another other brand of bowling shoe.

I've had both and found not much difference other than the Tour Ultra are more durable while the Sport Ultra keep your feet a little cooler, both are great shoes.

I ordered the tour ultras 13 and the toe area seemed cramped.. seemed like they used size 12 leather to make a 13 shoe.  I sent them back and bought the burgandy and grey sport ultras.. I had the place I bought them from check the toe box on the two shoes and they said it did seem that the burgandy and grey sport ultras had more toe room than the tour ultras or any other 3g shoe shoe..

I have also heard that all the shoes are built on the same shoe frame so there really shouldn't be a difference.. but there was.. I did see a big diffence when I got my sport ultras.. even though it is a different grade of leather the shoe is still well constructed and feels good..

I have been using my Tour Ultras for 5 years without a problem.  I would not hesitate to buy another pair, however I will not need to buy another pair for several more years
