What is your opinion of the SST Tank. I like the fixed sole on the push foot, because it wraps around the toe and being a toe dragger, I appreciate that. Changeable slide pads are also a plus. With the name Tank, I thought they would have a wider sole. With my advancing age and bad knees, I would like a wider, more stable sole. Anybody have any other pros/cons to share about the Tank?

Heard only good things, especially from the guys who DON'T like the direction of shoes these days. They said it reminds them of shoes of the past like the sst5 but with new materials and updated.
I personally don't have em as I got a deal on the sst8s I currently have..

there is no link between price of shoe and score. bowling had much more talent in the 1980s before shoe technology arrived

Same here. They make take a bit to break in but the people I know who have the Tanks really like them. If you want a sturdy shoe that's probably the best bet.

I have had the Tanks before and they are made to last. Sizewise, they are very comparable to my old SST 5's that I cherished. However, the Tank does feel a bit stiff and took much more time to break in than other shoes I have owned. Similarly, I chose the Tank and the SST 6's because of the fixed sole; if you want a little wider, the SST 6's are great and provide a little more extra stability when I post shots.

Thanks. This is the kind of feedback I was looking for. The SST 8, Storm SP9, and 3G ultras are all great shoes. My issue with the ultra is the sole was too thin and didn't provide the stability I need. The SST8 and SP900 push sole wore out too soon because I an a toe dragger. I will look at SST6.

I have had a pair of the Tank's for some time now and I think they are very comfortable. They seem lighter than my other Dexter's and I had no problem with the break in period.
Hope this helps.
