Title: Dexter T.H.E. 9 Insoles.
Post by: AMF300bowler on April 14, 2016, 11:32:43 AM
I got my Dexter T.H.E. 9 shoes last August. I love the shoe. It is very comfortable. Once I put them on I don't think about them again.

However, I am very disappointed that the insoles in these shoes did not last me one complete bowling season. The insoles on my previous SST 1's lasted 2+ seasons. I replaced the insoles with a good pair of Dr. Scholl's athletic replacements.

Anyone else have their insoles weer out too soon?

Personally for me, i cant slide in the 9's. I love how they look but seems to narrow for me and i couldnt get a consistent slide so i got rid of them. My 8's are perfect. As far as insoles, my 8's have lasted me a while now.

I have been a bowler since I was 13 and all my life I found most bowling shoes to have little long term support as far as insoles are concerned.  Then about 9 years ago I found a brand of insoles called Foot Relief Insoles.  I tried them in my bowling shoes and loved them.  I found they filled in my arch and helped my plant foot to be more stable at the time of release.  I also noticed I could bowl longer with less heel pain and less knee pain since I am in my 40's now.  I had a 179 average last time I played in a league not that it matters.  Try these insoles and I think you will be surprised.  They take a few practice games to get used to the liquid motion but once you do they are heavenly.  Google them since I don't want to violate any rules here.  Foot Relief Liquid Filled Shoe Insoles is the best term to use when searching.  Personally I think every bowling pro shop in the world should carry them.

Interesting, I got rid of the 8's because I couldn't slide in them. :P

The 9s are more narrow than the SST8s. I slide just fine in the 9s, but it was an adjustment that took time getting used to, at least coming from SST8s.

As far as the insoles, I replaced then with orthotics from day one. Most stock insoles are almost worthless. The only OOB insoles that I've experienced to be really good are those that come with TPU-X shoes. Probably the most comfortable on the market.

I just got my 9s. I found the sole and heel charts, If slide too much or I don't slide enuff, I will order a different sole that will give me what I need. I don't see how you can complain about the shoe.
